Good ebening.
My granddad fought at the MSG in the forties in his first ever TV fight. He was knocked out. BY THE CANVASS. So last night, I revisited a piece of family history by attending the AJ fight. He was knocked out by a very fat man. What a joke. If the Champions League final is ever held there, I will NOT attend.
Did it ruin my day? Absolutely not. What a fucking MAGICAL Saturday people. A totally shit game. Perfectly executed by Klopp.
He has absolutely shamed our club. He has destroyed the notion that success cannot be achieved the right way. He has embarrassed the fans that stood behind stagnation. He has shown the way forward that so many people said wasn’t possible in a world of oligarchs.
It’s a 5 year run for Arsenal to make that happen. We need the right manager. The right vision. Loads of energy. A clear out of the jokers. A move towards absolute accountability.
It probably won’t come with the current leadership, it’ll almost certainly get worse before the owners realise what they’ve done, but rest assured, we’ll bounce back when we start doing things properly.
Anyway.
Let’s focus on what matters. Spurs lost. Summer can begin.

As I understand it, the intelligent people like Pierre who really understand the intricacies of football and are looking for innovative ways to move it forward are looking at ways to bring in lessons from Fortnite playing techniques into football, or better still, merge the two physical sport with the online game.
You have a life outside of the blog. Then why the fuck does such a nothing remark bother you so much 3 hours later? Something doesn’t sound right there pal
Marko
Jesus Christ, I’m answering what was said because that’s the nature of communication. It’s you that’s then tried to usurp matters and claim I need to get over it. There’s nothing to get over, you made a remark, I answered.
Here’s a tip free of charge: if you don’t want a response to something don’t be a smart arsed cunt and make remarks that are going to get answered.
WOB
Give up on humour , it’s obviously not your thing.
Here’s some free advice to you Charles if you don’t like someone saying that you like to be the center of attention how about you let a comment made hours ago go and not incessantly bring it up. It literally wasn’t a big deal I’ve already apologized if I hurt your feelings. Let bygones be bygones
Reading some of the replies to transfer rumours on twitter especially to outgoings you will find Arsenal fans have a weird attachment to some players. Imagine getting upset at the prospect of moving Kos on.
Guns well Lyon value him at 80m euros. Spurs have had a bid rejected because they fell short if rumors are to be believed.
WOB
“As I understand it, the intelligent people like Pierre who really understand the intricacies of football ”
you don’t have to be particularly intelligent to know that playing Ozil as man marker in a European final will be detrimental to the team ,hence the 4-1 scoreline.
It’s very much kos’ time to go.
I have zero attachments to any of this current squad. They are all replaceable.
Pierre
There are 3 redundant words in your comment.
‘As man marker’
you don’t have to be particularly intelligent to know that playing Ozil as man marker in a European final will be detrimental to the team
Playing him as a number 10 is pretty detrimental too. Pierre can you please go back and watch the final. I think if you actually watch it and by watch I mean properly watch and not watch it through those sweaty shit stained Özil boxers you stole that one time wrapped around your face. You’ll actually see that he wasn’t really man marking anyone that game. He was just his usual shite self
Doubt Ozil knows what man marking means. He just had a shit game as usual.
Football has passed him by, floating around on the pitch avoiding responsibility isn’t football. Playmakers get on the ball and make things happen,he has been passing it to the fullbacks long before Emery got here.
He needs a change of scenery.
Rumour going round that we offered Kozz to Inter and they said ‘no thanks’.
Please take our shit!
Someone.
Anyone.
Marko
You’re genuinely too thick to understand some things, I’ve given you the benefit of the doubt before but it’s actually stunning. I’d look up the word “incessantly”, you’ve obviously not a clue what it means, stick to words you know and have a fighting chance.
Pierre
“Give up on humour, it’s obviously not your thing,”
Agreed.
It’ll take me a long time and lots of practice to reach your exalted level of acerbic wit.
Charles I’ve apologized. I don’t know why you keep going on about it.
Rumour also that Fenerbache want Elneny and Koscielny. He’ll be off don’t worry
Lichsteiner the first signing of the be glorious Emery era has now left the club via the small door. When he signed, I was one of the few to say that was a bad deal. Juventus loves old defender, yet it released Lichsteiner. My take was that If you are considered too old and too slow by Juventus to play on Série A, you have absolutely no chance to make it in a more dynamic, physically demanding league such as the EPL. Hopefully those in charge have learned their lesson. No more experienced players who are in fact has-been on… Read more »
Is this sampdoria Andersen guy any better than our fart of defenders?
Anyone with indept perspective in Serie A should help us get a little info about him and also how good is Praet?
Before anyone says these ain’t the sort of players we should be signing, should we take the gamble now or wait till they’re blossomed gems of exorbitant prices before we queue with the big boys to get them.
On our current status, these are the deals we’ll be making.
If we can shift Koscielny I’d be quite happy. He has a year to go and is on £90k a week. I figured he’d have next to no resale value and and we’d probably keep him as a 3rd or 4th choice for this year (or let him leave on a free back to France, because that’s the nonsense we do) but if we can get something for him then great. His decline has been significant in the last year and £90k a week off the wage bill would be worth it, especially since Holding is on £40k and Mavropanos… Read more »
Sven Mislintat signed Lichtsteiner
Guangzhou Evergrade and Shanghai SIPG looking at PEA. I wonder how much they will offer for him?
If PEA moves I wonder if it might motivate Özil to think about it…
Why on earth are we supposedly looking at the psg RB when it’s a low priority position?
The only excuse I can think of is that we will sell the injury prone and not that special bellerin for 40m and buy him for 27m. That would be solid business. But if we’re keeping bellerin this is just yet more negligent transfer dealing
Does anyone here honestly believe our club higher ups knows who we should be in for to take us to the next level? Unfortunately I don’t
We don’t have a spine.
We need a quality CB, a quality b2b, a quality AM. We also have zero wingers in the entire squad over the age of about 12 – let’s go buy a RB for 27m!!!!
This club…SMH
Sell bellerin and get a similar or better RB for cheaper then I’m cool with it. Otherwise this is just more clueless arsenal BS as per usual
We also keep getting linked with strikers
HOW ABOUT BUY SOMEONE USEFUL FIRST
Interesting to see a couple of links for Aubameyang. One from China where he’s being offered £300 000 a week. No rumour yet as to the fee they would offer. The other is from Inter where the rumour is an offer of £75 Million is being considered as a potential option. Lukaku is also being considered. I do think one of Lacazette or Aubameyang is going to go. That is a whopping sum of money to reinvest in the side. That would be a starting offer as well. If we could get £75 Million plus for either we should take… Read more »
Is it really such a novel idea that we should invest the majority of our time effort and money chasing quality players who will improve our first 11 and remove our glaring weaknesses, rather than chase back up players and positions which we are not as bad in?
Is this really not obvious?
China1
It would depend on the context of the summer though. At this point we’re all guessing.
Meunier coming in and no LB or winger coming in looks daft. But we don’t know that is going to happen.
Make no mistake, RB is a priority position. Bellerin is out until October, he’s already had one set back, he’s always been defensively inadequate and he’s had a bad ACL injury when his biggest attribute was pace.
We cannot afford to warp our formation anymore because we have no full backs and I’d rather not rely on untested youth from the academy.
China is an interesting possibility for ozil because they can pay high wages
They can’t pay a high transfer fee anymore because there’s a 100% tax on the transfer fee for foreign signings now, but frankly if they were willing to pay even 5-10m to us for ozil and meet his wage demands it would be incredible business for us.
Let’s all pray
I’m also curious to see if ozil came here, would he be as feckless as tevez was who was an absolute disgrace.
Look at the strides City made after they got a higher calibre of full back in, look at what a team Liverpool turned into after the emergence of Alexander Arnold and Robertson.
One of Spurs’ greatest weapons was Walker and Rose, they looked out of sorts this year when Trippier had a downturn.
Full backs are so vitally important.
If we have to wait until October to have a rusty Bellerin back who will likely be playing very within himself we’re hampering ourselves from the off.
China would totally suit ozil because the pace is slower, the expectations are minimal, the salaries are sky high and if you go to Shanghai you get to stay in a frankly world class city so it’s a legit switch from London unlike most Chinese cities If Shanghai really want him this could happen and finally spare us his and pierre’s BS lol @cesc I see what you mean but I don’t buy it. I’ve been highly critical of AMN this season and don’t want him playing, but our top priority needs to be on the spine of our first… Read more »

“It’s gonna be more weird decisions and a first 11 with glaring holes again next season I’m sure of it.”
Please don’t…..allow us a just few precious days and weeks of delusions about Ozil and Xhaka and Mustafis imminent departures and our dreams about sexy links to Special Sauce players until the cold hard reality starts to seep in…..
Ozil has quality no doubt but I don’t think he’s suited to the PL. He doesn’t like the rough side of the PL but when we face Italian team’s he really comes out and plays a blinder. Maybe going to Italy will be in his best interest (footballing wise).
If we get anything above 50m for Bellerin. We should sell him asap. Get in a RB who can defend and maybe with the spare change get a back up GK.
Gonsterous
So the plan is to sell our 50m RB, buy a replacement at less than 20m and somehow still upgrade on the position.
You think our management team, without a DOF, can pull that off?
We are playing straight into Kronke and Emery’s cheap is good, plucky underdog model.
As if our season ticket reflects that.
I doubt a Chinese club has that kind of cash to throw around at the moment, to be honest. Plus, I can’t see Ozil, a Muslim, coming to China. It would be easy street for him, mind you. Get himself an early Huawei 5h connection and play play play.
*5g
Dark Hei, it will be interesting to see how a club that looks to be out of the CL long term and which has limited transfer funds sells its very expensive season ticket renewals this year…
Marko “Sven Mislintat signed Lichtsteiner” Maybe, but it was the manager who played a 35 year old , lacking in match fitness as a marauding full back and surprise surprise , he picked up muscle injuries. would it have been too much to expect the manager to ask lichsteiner to feel his way into the games instead of asking him to play like a 20 year old . Fans can talk about who they want in as much as they like but I have news for you, it will make any difference under this manager , he will continue to misuse players. Yet these technically superior players have struggled against inferior opponents. What is technique without application. No one is asking for grafters, Spurs and Liverpool can take it and ditch it out when it comes to physicality their technique hasn’t suffered. No one here is offering up bouncers names as replacement, Ozil can have all the technique in the world but when it needs practically the whole team leaving their roles to shield him from opponents before he can show it,it becomes useless. Again, not what I said was it ….you’re struggling a little this morning .
I didn’t say they were technically superior ,I said ,and I quote”If you move these players on , you must replace them with superior not inferior players or the performances will suffer. “
One could look at the fact that we lost Cazorla and Wilshire last summer and replaced them with Torreira and Guendouzi who I think most ( not all) would agree are technically inferior players.
I know Wilshire and Cazorla had to leave due to their injury concerns but the point is that we have lowered our level .
Last summer’s signings were last gasp efforts to make do and mend. Who knows whether Emery played a big part in that. The Jan window was a non-event. This summer will be something quite different: a verifiable indication of the Club’s direction. My hope is that Emery/Raul will rid the squad of the overpaid underperformers and replace with the young and vigorous. They may have to accept high bids for the few (very few) they would rather keep because of Stan’s bottom line policy. That would show a pragmatic sense of direction. IMO any idea that there will be a… Read more »
Pierre If you consider being 57 as being geriatric, then so be it. Yes, I don’t have that much faith in Emery but my post was based on Ozil and Ozil alone. Defending the indefensible is a major part of your remit on here but nothing you say in Ozil’s defence will hide the fact that he has become a major hinderance and detriment to the club. This was the case even before Emery’s arrival. Emery’s mistake against Chekski was actually starting with Ozil in the first place. You seem to think that Ozil is being used as a scapegoat… Read more »
The common theme on here is that one is regarded as trolling if one differs from the usual line of slagging off players and offers a different perspective in the team’s and players performances.
It normally happens when certain posters are struggling on a particular theme, as receding is struggling today ,so they use the trolling line as a get out.
I look at it as an admittance of defeat on a particular point of discussion.😇
Ferland Mendy moving to Real Madrid
Lopetegui just named new boss of Sevilla.
Yes Pierre I admit defeat. I was defeated the moment I responded to you.
Graham
You need to move on from Wenger and Ozil … You are either moaning about one of the other .
I’m sure Ozil will be on his way quite soon , probably for his own sanity as much as anything else and then we can look forward to an Arsenal side side with these wonderful new players under Emery that play with skill, pace and aggression ,that are disciplined in midfield and defensively solid ..
I suspect that Pierre has his favorite inflatable girlfriend named after Ozil.
I can’t understand how anyone can watch the EL final and deduce that Ozil’s role was man marking Jorginho. Pierre has to be overwhelmed by a fetish for this bug eyed has-been player.
You make it sound like discipline in midfield and defensive solidity are bad traits for a team.
That skill, pace and aggression ( alien to Ozil all three) are despicable traits in footballers.
Just don’t respond to his hot take on tactics, and he’ll get bored of talking into a vacuum.
@Pedro,
When asked, I named Mike Maignan as one of the future great French goalkeeper. It seems that ManUtd agree with that assessment as they have bid big money for him.
He may leave Lille (LOSC) for €35 (£31) millions.
https://metro.co.uk/2019/06/03/manchester-united-talks-sign-31m-lille-goalkeeper-mike-maignan-9794154/
How bout we just kick both Emery and Ozil out.
That way everyone is happy.
Seems that the Zidane Act II is stuck as Real Madrid can’t shift the players he does not want: Bale, James, …
Despite what some seem to think, getting rid of overpaid players is extremely difficult without taking a financial hit. In some case the question is whether the financial bhit is worth taking. A lot of players don’t want to go to China and/or Russia. Turkey is in the middle of financial difficulties and that of course impact football clubs.
You know all those people queuing up to reach the summit of Everest, arent they moving at about the same pace as Ozil likes to play the game?
What about “Mesut, do Mummy a favour and run down the shops and get me a loaf of bred”
“No Mummy, I will walk and look as frigging miserable as possible if that’s ok with you”
Finally ” I’m making you captain for the day Mesut, I need you to act as our leader”
” Give me a few minutes Mr Emery, let me finish this one game of Fortnite”
Lol Pierre go on, dig in. The hole is only half a mile deep. Can always be deeper right? The wenger one was several miles so there’s a ways to go with defending ozil yet
Ozil was told to man mark Jorginho?
I don’t think so.
Wenger will never be forgotten.
It’s in my remit.
You’re not wrong ozil plays like a teenager who has been asked to tidy his room
“But muuuum…..”
Hearing all the players Manure are targeting, I feel sorry for the Arsenal fans. All indications are, Arsenal will decline further. All we left is the memory of the invinciables.
Pierre I know it hurts you to hear this but ozil is a massive cunt just like the guy who signed him. To be a flawed footballer is one thing – we have about 20 in our senior squad. But to be a feckless little brat when you are paid astronomical sums and not even be arsed to break a sweat is nothing short of disgraceful I repeat. Being bad is one thing. Complete cunt.
Nelson,
Yeah, at the moment the premier league transfer news/rumours is dominated by Man U, Everton, Spurs and West Ham.
If you were to construct a transfer rumours league table, at present Arsenal would be in 16th or 17th position, flirting with relegation….
Let’s hope that this is a temporary situation….
Aubameyang off to China? Let’s hope they offer top money for him. Send Ozil and mkhtaryan and we are half way there.

Many teams have built competitive outfits without being in the champions league. In fact not being there is reason enough to rod ourselves of underperforming players and lower the much talked about wage bill.

Too right! It’s all Emery’s fault that Ozil was rubbish in 17/18 as well, and it was Emery ringing up Gazidis to say “Whatever you want to pay him, add a quarter of a million a week to it so we’re stuffed in terms of wages and FFP until the contract is up!”
