The world did NOT end.

by .

Good ebening.

My granddad fought at the MSG in the forties in his first ever TV fight. He was knocked out. BY THE CANVASS. So last night, I revisited a piece of family history by attending the AJ fight. He was knocked out by a very fat man. What a joke. If the Champions League final is ever held there, I will NOT attend.

Did it ruin my day? Absolutely not. What a fucking MAGICAL Saturday people. A totally shit game. Perfectly executed by Klopp.

He has absolutely shamed our club. He has destroyed the notion that success cannot be achieved the right way. He has embarrassed the fans that stood behind stagnation. He has shown the way forward that so many people said wasn’t possible in a world of oligarchs.

It’s a 5 year run for Arsenal to make that happen. We need the right manager. The right vision. Loads of energy. A clear out of the jokers. A move towards absolute accountability.

It probably won’t come with the current leadership, it’ll almost certainly get worse before the owners realise what they’ve done, but rest assured, we’ll bounce back when we start doing things properly.

Anyway.

Let’s focus on what matters. Spurs lost. Summer can begin.

And again, the thing is all signings have risk attached, you introduce a £60 Million CB to this league he still might suffer and if you haven’t addressed the winger issues, CAM issue, CM issue as well then it’s going to be like a non stop onslaught in his first season. I called it from our 3rd or 4th game this season, the ball just comes back, and back, and back, and back because Ozil is a giant pussy and hides and we have nothing out wide to give it to. We can’t do everything in one go. We need to sort our defence first than in the next two windows, provided we are doing well in the EPL (ie. in the top 4) move to sort out our attack then. In the meantime give Reiss Nelson, Emile Smith Rowe, Joe W.illock, Eddie Nketiah squad spaces in the midfield and attack and see how they fare… as squad members. We’ll still ship a lot of goals. If our attack and midfield has some of those players playing in it on a regular basis we’re still going to be under alot of… Read more »

Allegri is not likely to go somewhere with a transfer ban

salparadisenyc

I suspect Fat Frank takes over transfer banned Chelsea, less pressure.

Also suspect the crack team at United are kicking themselves for giving Ole the deal with Allegri on the market.

The culling has begun. Lichtsteiner gone. Didn’t even read his message to fans literally don’t care he’s was such a wank signing from the get go

If Chelsea can’t get the transfer ban postponed then not only will a new manager not be able to add players but they’re losing their best player by some margin. Now they do have Pulisic joining but what from I’ve heard he was back up at Dortmund.

It could be a seriously tough year for Chelsea.

I’m guessing there are lots of over paid players to be shifted.

Time for MLS to make a move.

Let’s assume the Greizmann to Barca move doesn’t go through, would anyone be interested in Lacazette and 10M for Ousmane Dembele?

Cesc Appeal

Chelsea are losing a player that carries them.

Not convinced at all that Pulisic will take to the EPL.

Listening to BvB fans criticisms of him, he’s going to find it tough here.

The weight of expectation as well. In fans minds he’s replacing Hazard.

Words on a Blog

United finding it hard to shift Alexis
Arsenal finding it hard to shift Ozil and Mikki,
Real finding it hard to shift Bale, James et al
Barca finding it hard to shift a Coutinho (and Suarez?)
Atletico looking to shift Costa et al

Here’s hoping that the assembly of again and overpaid stars above don’t log-jam the market…

Up to now, Emery was trying to use all the available players in a surviving mode. Hence, we couldn’t see an identity of the team. This Summer TW will give us a better indication how Emery wants to establish his “Emeryball”. I would be disappointed if he stays with this double strikers and wing back formation.

Dissenter

Arsenal fans are so damn sentimental.
Why is is so hard for many to consider selling Lacazette? He has to leave at some pint, either now or until he runs out his contract.
I would sell off half the squad and rebuild with it.

We need a physical taller striker who can head the ball to give us a better way to play.

Chelsea won’t get the ban over turned – other clubs have already had the same punishment for similar offences. What Chelsea might do is get it postponed by going to the court of arbitration.

This En-Nesyri CF at Leganes looks a good shout for bench striker.

I see where Dissenter is coming from regarding a taller more physical striker. Our two strikers scored 50 goals between them last season so the suggestion that we need a striker like Giroud is ridiculously dim to me. Our problem in attack has nothing to do with us not being able to lump the ball up to a physical attacker it’s the dross around them being so poor

@Marko

My thinking wasn’t that we need somebody with Henry’s physique on the receiving end of the ball so much as the whole team back then had pace and power. Imagine swapping out Ramsey for Vieira, Xhaka for Gilberto, Iwobi for Pires. That kind of thing. We’ve been technical midgets for several years and as the midgets got progressively worse, we did too.

Ishola70

Guendouzi needs to show more to be seen as a certain future superstar player.

What he has shown is that he can get around the pitch and that he has a range and understanding of passing from central midfield.

What he hasn’t shown so far is a killer instinct with his passing further forward nor any great nous defensively off the ball.

Receding Hairline

Allegri will not win the league with Arsenal, Chelsea or Spurs if Pep and Klopp are still in their current positions

The reason Franck Lampard is called Fat Franck is that during all his life he has been very prickly about that. If we’re looking for a back up striker why not Mateta at Mainz. 21 and has 14 goals for the season. Looks a prospect.

Ishola70

Not interested in either of those two Sampdoria links.

There is no indication at all that Andersen would improve this defence to any great extent. He has no stand-out defensive qualities. His strengths are seen as passing from CB.

Praet no killer instinct or eye for goal.

The Pole Karol Linetty would be more beneficial to this current Arsenal side than either Andersen or Praet.

I can see the logic in selling one of our strikers to finance 2 or 3 better players though. Plus it causes an imbalance in the way we play.. If we were better off.. in quality and talent… you would keep them both obviously. One to back up the other or change the game in the 70th minute, or to give us options.

Not sure we have the luxury of some teams such as City to have players on the bench better then most teams starters yet though when our bench players are our starters.

I think we can file “selling Lacazette” fairly far down the list of options for our rebuild.

I dont believe we have a £40m budget this summer, more like £70m i think, but theres still a lot we can do.

Sell Ospina, Macey, Jenkinson for £5m
Buy Meunier for £20m (move AMN to midfield and sell Elneny for £10m)
Buy Kieran Tierney for £25m (sell Kolasinac for £15m)
Buy 2 x CBs for £55m (sell Chambers, Mustafi & Koscielny for £45m)

Thats some pretty significant defensive change for just £25m net spend.
