Wide player seems like a priority

Arsenal superstar Mesut Ozil is apparently back in the mixer after his iffy first game against Mexico. Mr Löw said this of the German’s reaction.

“After the match against Sweden, Ozil showed a great reaction in training, as I expected from all who didn’t play,”

He’ll start the game against Korea as Germany chase qualification in a tournament they’ve certainly stuttered in so far. Good for you Mesut, I hope you make 6 assists.

Argentina made it through to the next round beating out Nigeria late on. It looked like Maradona had dropped an 8 ball of something special up in the crowds, there are rumours he’d been hospitalised after the game. The man must have some tolerance at his age, he must have a few bag men to get the fucked up during a game.

Ever Banega had Arsenal fans panties all up in a twist as he ‘liberated’ Messi (perhaps he hospitalised Maradona?)… he even popped up with an assist. That’s what I call World Cup window dressing. I’d take him, he’s experienced, he’s fiery and he has levels to the class in his game. If Arsenal are shooting for top 4 next season, we need to bulk out with experience. I’m just not sure I’d be happy paying £17m for him.

In other news, Kike Marin, the Spanish Ornstein, reckons we’re going for Lucas Vazquez of Real Madrid. It seems we’re keen on a wide man, and according to reports, we’ve made a decent financial offer for the player. These sorts of rumours usually happen when the client is looking for assurances. The Spanish wide man bagged 7 assists and 4 goals from 16 starts, which gets makes me damper than Wayne Rooney’s back on a Mega Bus trip. At 26, he’s at the right age, he’s never going to be more than a squad player for Madrid, so it’d be a good move for him.

Great to read that we’re going hard at signing in some additional attacking players. I’ve been wondering if the lack of sales is to do with the coach waiting to see him players in the flesh? Will there be a late July fire sale after a week? Or did the club do it’s big shifts in January?

All very interesting. I’m tapping out, lots of work to do. See you in the comments.

Germany is aus!!

wow

I see the arsenal /özil hate is continuing on this Arsenal blog..

I think you think you will find that özil will have created at least 6 chances in the 2nd half alone that his team mates have failed to take…..

TitsMcGee

Deutschland ist aus!!

Low was rather smug when he explained why he dropped Leroy Sane.

Marko

And that’s why you have VAR. Brilliant stuff here

they are going to crash out bottom of the group as things stand

Time for self gloating

I was right on two counts – Lowe is overrated and that his decision to leave Sane was idiotic.

DaleDaGooner

wow! Low has royally screwed up.

SK win was priced at 15/1 before match.

Hope someone got in there.

Lmao Germany out. To be frank, Sane would have brightened
this team up a bit

Sane wouldn’t have made one bit of difference.

Let’s not be beastly to the Gurmans.

Well done South Korea!!

Bamford had Germany as the favorite to lift the world cup. Good that he has taken a self imposed exile from LG 🙂

Receding Hairline

Now they are just embarrassing themselves

They came here hoping to intimidate on names alone. Leroy Sane with his dynamism and direct running would have at least troubled full backs ..the decision was daft

Muller has no business being here…he was poor for Bayern all season , a truly limited footballer

Brandt should have started their last two games

DaleDaGooner

France, Italy, Spain and now Germany…royal arse fuck after winning world cup

Holders curse continues.

4th World Cup out of the last 5 that the Holders have been dumped out in the groups, think all 4 finished bottom of group too!

I’m actually in agreement with you that the club should sell Ramsey, rather than put him on mega wages, especially if we can get £50M or more for him.

But for you to not see that Ozil is a clown fuckin footballer is part of what makes you the biggest cunt in the room.

DaleDaGooner

Muller has been gash, shouldn’t even be starting, but oh well, reputation based on past

WengerEagle

Haha Bamford had Germany as winners didn’t he?

Cesc Appeal

If they had Brandt and Sane out wide they would have looked far more threatening.

The problem they have is players like Muller, Ozil and Khedira need to be got rid of.

TitsMcGee

A German team that can’t break down South Korea has far more issues than 1 player being missing.

TitsMcGee

Last in the group.

They’ll get dragged over the coals for this. Deservedly.

Germany so poor – dropping Sane looks so daft now Even Reus was bad , Ozil needed this kick on backside -.hope he fares better for us

Marko

Low totally to blame. He’s been found out. To not bring the most in form German player and the only one who actually takes on players in Sane was a terrible decision. To bring Brandt instead and barely use him and when he is used he actually looked decent is shocking by Low. Must be sacked straight away.

Bam come back please.

Jamie

All we need now is for Neymar to light up the rest of the WC and Bamford’s ‘impeccable footballing knowledge’ under serious threat.

Guns of SF

what a world cup today. total nail biter wow

Ozil bent my club over a barrel in a time of desperation and piggybacked off of a pathetic manager to get himself a total undeserved £350 000 to then literally call in sick half the time and then no show even when officially his name was on the team sheet.

Ozil gonna be even more miserable (if thats possible). Thats his start of season break excuse out the window..

Germany were dreadful in this Tournament. This is not down to one player, but
an overall collective performance.

Frankly I think that the German Federation and Bundesliga need to take a look at the current set up of their game. The overall dominance of Bayern Munich does not help the competitiveness of their current league.

He’s more interested in celebrity now anyway, I don’t see how we get rid of him to be honest?

When I see Ozil these days, all I perceive is that Wenger stench.
That’s the synesthesia Arsenal fans have to endure till the Wenger-after baggage is cleared out.

To think Wenger used to call Ozil “PERFECT”?
“People are very harsh with Özil because he’s a player who’s always very easy on his play but when you watch the game again after, the next day, you see what a player he is. Everything he does is intelligent. The timing of everything he does is absolutely perfect. You never catch him giving the ball too late”

Not childish, Ishola, that’s what it means to be an Arsenal fan. If twats like that had their way Wenger would still be manager because the stadium would have been full every week and not a word in protest against him would have been said.

They’ve been wrong for years, its laughable they still speak as if they have any credibility at all.

Cesc Agreed with your assessment of Nozil. He milked the Sanchez situation for his gain… He knew that no other team would pay 350K, and knowing our dire situation had his agent negotiate for a crazy amount since Sanchez was not there to take part of that money. We did capitulate given that we were desperate to break into CL- via the Europa league, and Wenger gave Ozil pretty much carte blanche to not play any games, to rest him for the ECL tie with Athletico. We were better off letting Ozil walk for free. I said that in January.
It was bad enough letting him run his contract but we compounded the error multiple fold by making him the league’s second highest paid player.
You don’t built a team around lackadaisical and lazy players. No Europa league team should pay that much wages for any player.

Players brought on reputation and not any semblance of form is what cost Germany so yes players like Ozil have in fact cost Germany. And he only got picked because Boateng was sent off and Rudiger was so error prone the last game

Ozil had a good game today, created decent amount.. But, Germany had a poor tournament overall. From Low to Boateng, Hummel’s to Muller. Love Kroos, but besides goal vs Sweden, he was average as well. A little over elaborate with his passing. Without a Casemiro there, he needs to be quicker on the ball.

The main thing Germany have learned this tournament is that Timo Werner can’t play as a solo #9. At Leipzig, Poulsen does quite a.bit.of. dirty work for him in a 4-4-2 partnership

Cesc Appeal

Guns of SF

There were only a few of us on here saying sell both Sanchez and Ozil last summer and reinvest. I think you could have got £50-60 Million for Sanchez and £20-30 Million for Ozil.

That is still enough to have gone out and done something, but we all knew laziness, cowardice and delusion would prevail with Wenger in charge and so it did.

I really think Ozil is slime.

All fans at every club have their favourite individual players and others they don’t like.

It’s universal.

Or sorry, is your definition of an Arsenal supporter mindless admiration for everything with Arsenal on it? Correct.. Considering that he has hardly played any football in 3 months….

If hummels, werner, kroos etc had converted the chances he created the perception of his performance would be completely different.
