NORTH WEST BIAS CRIME REPORT

by .

Listen, you’re gonna have to put up with this sort of post because we’re in an international break, the writing equivalent of being offered the crumbs at the bottom of a bag of NikNaks.

Gabriel Jesus is being persecuted by the bent coppers in black because he lives in London and plays in a red shirt.

Last season, Whoscored were tweeting that Gabi J had committed 20 fouls and received ZERO bookings. Whilst at City, he enjoyed the Big North West Team privilege of being able to do what he wants, only picking up 6 yellow cards across 3 seasons.

This season? He’s on the verge of a suspension with 4 yellow cards in 7 games. Has he been a saint? No. He’s one of the most prolific foulers in the league, one foul behind Scott McTominay, with 14 to his name.

… but man, isn’t it weird refs have only just clocked he’s a problem now he’s wearing red?

Referees treat you differently based on how big your club is and where it is located.

This is case closed. We’re going to sentencing next week.

Matty Turner has landed at Arsenal and I don’t think it has been easy for him. There have been some shaky moments, we’ve seen some errors, and he’s looked a little overawed by the moment he’s in at times.

… but, he is new to the Premier League, he’s clearly one of the best keepers in America, and they don’t produce average keeping talent. The player has been talking about what he’s learned (MLS SOCCER)

‘Just the speed and the intensity of everything, every single day. Mikel doesn’t accept anything except full-gas at training sessions, so you have to bring it every single day, or else you get found out pretty quickly out there on the pitch.’

‘For me, it’s the consistency that I have to bring every day in training, being ready for moments where I’m going to be able to get to play and overall just the speed, technical execution of things, making saves against world-class players every day in training, sometimes getting found out by world-class players in training. But all the while learning.’

It’s also great to get a bit of insight into how Mikel Arteta focuses in on things like body language.

‘We were playing a small possession game and it was really, really tight.  I tried to make a pass and I gave the ball away. I sort of visually got frustrated and upset and he [Arteta] just came up to me and shoved me. He was basically like, ‘I don’t want to see that. I don’t like seeing that reaction. I want to see you pick yourself up and keep going.’

‘I think that really set the tone for my mentality within the club and just to keep going no matter what. If you fail, that’s alright. What matters is how you react and not about the failure in itself. That was a really nice moment.’

The keeping position at any major club really is sink DEEP or swim. There’s rarely a middle ground. What I mean by that is you can’t plod like an Ainsley Maitland Niles dropping 6s and it being ok. If you drop into the team and you’re bad as a keeper – often, that’s it. You don’t get the chance to make errors because any lapse is a goal. If the team thinks you are going to lapse on the regular, there’s no trust afforded you, and your rep in the side dies.

That’s why Matt Turner has to really work hard and make sure he’s impressive in every game. I was speaking to an elite-level goalkeeper last week, one of the interesting things I’ve never really thought about is the difference for keepers as they go up levels in the game. I was told that when you move to a big club as a keeper, the speed is really shocking at the highest level, but the other element is the precision of the ball striking, and the unbelievable power. Literally, two weeks ago, I was ranting off that all 30-yard screamers were the same. Well, I was wrong. What does bide time is hard work. So let’s hope Matt is putting in the big hours and let’s hope he’s not absolutely ruined by our keeping coach Mikel Arteta seems to sit outside the non-negotiables mindset.

Right, that’s all you’re getting today. Jump on the podcast. What? Yes, it’s true. The AOP was Top 10 in America AND Great Britain for football. Give it a listen and a FIVE star review.

We ve already got Partey though, 29 almost 30 years old and injury prone.

Naija+soccer

I would get a player in this age range 21-25. Have him as second option after Partey, play Lokonga mainly as a number 8, but use him as cover when Partey or this new number 2 isn’t available.

WengerEagle

Since when is turning 29 in June nearly 30? Lol.

Kante imo is still a top player and it is a fairly moot rumour because he starts for Chelsea when fit.

I have seen bits and pieces of Danilo from Palmieras and I like what I see. A lot of praise and recommendations have been laid at his feet. And Guimaraes was the last player to have such high praise. A prospect like that would be great to rotate for Partey. And the other is a right sided winger. It… Read more »

With 92 and 97 points finishes, Liverpool should be on 3 premier league titles now since Klopp joined. But instead they ve only won one, with 99 points.

4 in 5 titles for City instead. That’s what we are up against for the title and that was before Haaland.

Naija+soccer

PGMOL shouldn’t be an outside institution though, that’s a bit upside down. They should be in the body and under the guidance of the FA. That whole setup is so behind the times.

This isn’t democracy, it’s premier league football, with the whole world watching.

GD4

Naija, I hear your point about Partey but there is a catch to this. Many Teams who use a deep lying playmaker, rather than a traditional “#6 DM destroyer” are those who have a possession based philosophy and want to someone capable of building play out from the back … as opposed to a traditional ball winning SIX who can steal possession and spark a counter attack … and sometimes both philosophies converge depending on situation and strength of opposition. IMHO, I like having a ball winning DM on those tough road games when we will need to grind out… Read more »

Ngolo Kante is 31, and in the final year of his contract.
Would you be open to making a move for him in January, injury prone or not.

I’ll rather go to Bayern and loan Gravenberg in January. He’s fed up with lack of game time. I watch Ajax every week and he and Antony stood out every single week. Boy is an insane baller. Perfect heir to Partey’s throne.

Ha ha. Made me chuckle, I needed that after my rant!!

izzo

The media pundits nonsense about Nwaneri is just backhanded racism because he’s black. Where was the outrage when Harvey Elliott was playing for Liverpool at 16 and started at 15, at Fulham. Pathetic when I hear them making those snide remarks.
It would be sweet if we actually won the league and Man City’s season gets derailed somehow. They’re not tight at the back in defense and with an injury to Haaland that could be enough assuming we take advantage if/when it happens. Just want to shut up all these annoying media pundits.

dSidstathopoulos

Whether white or Biafran, 15 and 16 year olds should Not be part of the Sports entertainment industry. Its robbing them normal childhood (peer jealousy, public envy, teamates with a debuchery lifestyle)

izzo

Sid by your logic they also shouldn’t be in the movie or music industry or social media industry either. At least try and make sense with your pronouncements.
“peer jealousy”??? ever went to school??? peer jealousy is a norm without being famous i.e. rich kids vs poor kids. Kids that play at the academies are part of the club and if one kid is performing above his grade they get promoted its not rocket science.

TBH I don’t know the lad but I’ll definitely check him out and do my homework … good post … cheers

Implicit BIAS:

“Implicit bias is the unconscious associations of specific traits with members of a demographic group that affect our understanding, actions, and decisions without our awareness or intentional control.”

GD4

Diss,

It’s amazing how with the right stimulus the hidden thoughts and traits of people get revealed. So many times athletes or public figures of certain ethnic groups are repeatedly associated with negative thoughts through these negative vibes that some people don’t even know they’re exhibiting …

Shyt is crazy

Dissenter

‘This is muddied by US and UK age of consent differing”

No muddling. It’s the place where the offence was a committed that has jurisdictional authority.
What coercion needs to be proven when he’s going after minors plied up on alcohol. You seem to be happy to muddy up HRH Andy’s nasty proclivities but you’re more unambiguous about Meghan.

Markymark

There’s a lot of mass hysteria going on there and some of it is just over the top.

Markymark

Dissenter- depends if they accuse him of having sexual relationships under the age of consent correct . The most commonly quoted one was in the UK as far as I can tell she was over the age of consent at that time in the UK.
