Lazy, lazy negative journalism from Parker at the Express( expect no less) suggesting 4 Arsenal players who were on two yellows who if they picked up another booking would miss first leg of semi( if qualify).Didn’t bother to look up UEFA rule 63.04.which gives a clean slate once quarter finals hsve expired.Dear oh dear.Another media attempt to put a negative slant on Arsenal progressing. We seriously hsve them rattled.

The last time we played at this ground, we came into the second leg of a CL quarter final match having secured a clean sheet in the first leg. We went on to watch a certain TH14 score one of his most iconic ever goals and the defense keep a shut out again to see us through to a semi final vs Villareal

Yes we all want to win this game desperately. Does anyone dare to imagine a clean sheet tho? IF (that’s a big if) we did, it would mean Madrid have still never scored against us. In the 2006 matches, our backline was Flamini-Senderos-Toure-Eboue

This time around all eyes are on Kiwior and to some extent MLS.

Good luck lads. Come on Arsenal

I remember both matches very well. But i think you will find that the first leg was at the Bernabeu. The second leg was at a rocking Highbury .. I remember Jens making a super save towards the end to keep us ahead. Great memories .. Let's make another one tonight !!

No worries. I remember the first leg clearly as i was on a business trip in Timisoara - i was out for dinner with a client i had just met that day - and went to the pub afterwards ... the match was on TVs all over the bar. TH14 scored as i walked in the door - of course i couldnt stop myself celebrating like a lunatic - to the amusement of my new client.. it really helped break the ice and we still keep in touch to this day.

Doesnt it feel really good when you say the words out loud ‘Real Madrid tonight’ whilst talking to people about Arsenal FC. My word we’ve been starved of these prestigious feelings for too long

We just can't let this game get to pens as Raya is probably the worst at saving them.

He literally fucked a team in the ass on pens in the CL last season but he had a bad time of it in one game this season so now he’s bad at pens

Okay.

As others have said, expect it to be 11 vs 12 men tonight. The ref will be under pressure to right the wrong of Madrid getting embarrassed in the first leg. The fans and players will be baying for blood en masse every time there’s anything close to contact on a Madrid player under any circumstances

If the ref and VAR have a genuinely good game I will be VERY pleasantly surprised.

The players have to be cold blooded on the pitch. Don’t rise to provocation. Ignore the drama. Don’t commit silly little fouls if you get beaten, trust the keeper (MLS, looking at you son!)

Arteta as well needs to avoid kicking off on the touchline under any circumstances. I recall years back we were fucking Liverpool at anfield and Xhaka and arteta started going mad about everything and it riled the Anfield fans right up. Pressure skyrocketed and we totally buckled not long after. A huge mistake.

Every player and the manager out there has to be as cold as DB10 tonight

Lads I’ve got a nasty feeling this is going to be 4-1 to Madrid and we go out on pens. But my gut feeling is always wrong so take this as a good sign

Take a laxative and get rid of that “gut feeling”

Or better still take anti diarrhea medication and get constipated with it

Either way, don’t bring that bad karma around here

We haven’t been to CL semifinal since 2009 and here you are gut-predicting that we have one of the greatest collapse in European history.

Keep that nasty self doubt to yourself.

Nope the opposite if you’d read my full comment.

My gut is always wrong. Bet against it every time. You should be glad of if I tell you I have a bad feeling about our chances.

It’s when I tell you we’re going to smash them you have to start worrying

Last night is exactly why I don’t fear PSG (nor Barca) but was concerned about Villa

Are Barca and PSG very good? Yes of course. But they can also be got at by teams which are inferior to us in the champions league. Both teams weren’t that far off going out

Meanwhile Villa are worse than both of those teams but know us inside out and have our former manager and we’ve been poor against English teams for 30 odd games already this season. We would’ve found Villa harder over two legs than PSG did and PSG only scraped it.

Btw that’s not me being over confident about PSG or Barca because if we face either they could very realistically knock us out. Rather I stand by my stance that neither team are scary and both are very beatable if we play well. That’s the if. If we don’t have a good day at the office then say night night. But if we play to an 8/10 level of our ability, I’d expect us to beat PSG and have an excellent chance in a final against Barca. Will we even beat Madrid? We’ll see. If we do, will we actually play well against PSG and co? We’ll see.

They’re not scary tho. Elite European football is just very poor this year so anyone who is good looks better than they really are

Spot on Ryan.No way Villa. It would be a derby come FA cup match rolled into one.The brummie b’ stards hate us.Would hsve been an absolute bear pit at their place & a Park the bus at our gaff. A nightmare.

As for PSG or Barca? I’d fancy our chances if we go through.

AFC just need the courage to come out and play, regardless of what the media are spinning.

If the Arsenal manage to get it across the line, it would feel like 2006 again with the makeshift backline.

Our mids should be able to control the pitch as cava is out as is mendy in defense.

This is the biggest game for us in 20 years outside of league, f the Spanish teams, smash those fools.

Let's go!

What price an early soft pen or red card given in their favour? Surely the officials cannot be as corrupt as those in the EPL? Having said all that I think we will physically boss them once we have weathered the early storm. We will create chances, its having the balls to take them.

Ironically, I think Merino might get one. Teams still a little confused with this fella in his new role. He is good at sniffing out the goals though. good positioning. I think he gets one. I hope.

Yes merino finds pockets of space and is a really clean finisher. Two traits which will continue to serve him well when we attack

Honestly, the team I fear most in the Champions league is Inter. They're so organized and don't give up many chances like the other teams.

If we go through tomorrow, Inter is the team I'd be praying to avoid.

Ive been telling my son all week, is all we need is one goal there. Thats it. They need 5 then. Its not likely. Not too comfortable with 3 nil to be honest. A quick one and its game on for them.

How we soak up pressure is going to matter. I can see Vini and the rest of them divers trying to win pens left and right and free kicks.

you better bet they want to score some bangers against us after what Rice did.

Kiwior is my worry, but maybe he will come good. Timber is a cool. MLS is another they might target to make rash tackles etc. Get him carded.

We cannot park the bus most of this game. I think that would be futile. We find space, we counter and attack
