This article covers well the full ramifications of the legal challenge that Cheaty are taking against the PL.

This is in fact all about their 115 charges.

If they manage to convince that the ATP rules are unfair (to them of course) then this will pave the way to successfully arguing that their 115 charges of cheating weren't cheating.

It's terrible how they are acting like spoilt brats who are still not happy after having won everything already.

I really hope that the PL don't cave in to this disgusting bullshit.

Lol. We should get our owners to pump in money to the club so we can win. Our owners are rich enough to buy the EPL if we want.

But they are Mystic Leaves.

How do you think we bought Declan for £105m considering that we rarely recoup enough money from player sales (due to some players high salaries)?

I am pretty sure Kroenke Sr helped out.

Expand full comment

I'm a bit concerned that we dont seem to be prioritising a LB.

I think we make a move for Maartsen. £35m for a ridiculously good LB. We've done plenty of business with Chelsea and it's a release clause making for a smoother deal.

All the noise is around Hato from Ajax.

But we need to get players out first, apparently Kiwior + Zinchenko both might leave.

We still have Tierney + Tavares on our books.

Left back isn’t a numerical issue, it’s more of an availability issue.

Tierney, Zinchenko, Tomi, are all in the treatment room far too often.

Expand full comment

It's never been a numerical issue. Purely personnel. And what we have is severely lacking.

Expand full comment

I like the look of Hato but if Bayern are interested in Zinchenko could we not look at Alfonso Davies as an option. All dependent of course on Real Madrid but if that move doesn’t happen apparently he’s available for the same as Maartsen’s release clause. Definitely worth a look should we exit a few left side defenders.

Expand full comment

Davies is all but guaranteed to Real. Would be an amazing coup but there are still a few attainable options.

Expand full comment

Yes it does look like the usual Real model of trying to get an exceptional player for a knockdown price, looking into it further his wage demands seem to be quite high so its likely a move to Real, or a new bumber deal at Bayern are more likely, still he’d be an incredible asset if available!

Davies would add some real wow factor to our left hand side. Would take him in a heartbeat

True. Nobody coming in defense unless 2 leave. Kiwior, Zinch, Tierney.. Maybe 3 with Tavares going too.

Good comeback from Tom... "I know you are, but what am I"

Very original and typically clever.

There are posters on LG that literally everyone respects... AFCforever is one of them. I hope all is well with him.

But you prove again, you're too deeply observing me...

You remembering that short comment that I made weeks ago is odd.

They call that behaviour a creep. You'd be the type on a guys Instagram obsessively scrolling back to 2010.

Does Pedro need a no stalking policy for you?

Spud lover Tom is obsessed with somebody. A lot of references to me but i understand people with no friends have too much time on their hands.

I didn't like Havertz while at Chelsea from casual viewing. I did a LOT of research when we were linked and saw the reasons why he was a top tier young prospect coming out of Germany.

Found pro scouting reports, posted them here, and put it together with how all his managers have valued him. Plus I trust our evaluators and Arteta a lot.

Then there is my natural inclination to be supportive to new players who choose our club, and cheer for their success in their transition instead of shitting on them, as les miserables did to Kai, White, and others.

I hated the Willian signing but supported him. He ended up showing a lot more personal class than the nasty gooners who were attacking him online.

All of Havertz, Ramsdale, and Willian have spoken about that mob.

Hey, Nigel, would you be my friend?

Btw, have you found your friend , AFC forever yet?

I saw you asking the board the other day if anyone’s seen him, which was weird since you spend every waking moment on here.

Unless of course you meant outside of this blog, which would be even more weird since nobody knows what he looks like.

I really hope you find him.

You seem to know better than Arteta and Edu what they should do for this TW.

So lay it out for us and tell us exactly what should be the grand master plan for this TW for The Arsenal.

Tell us who they should buy and what they should do to secure the PL trophy and waltz past Cheaty next season.

DB - Big Tone (is that moniker straight from a Viz cartoon?) doesn’t like to give suggestions as to what we should do - he merely criticises decisions of others

Expand full comment

He’s probably afraid of Nigel’s wrath if he gets it wrong, I mean who wouldn’t be?

Myself, I stopped giving suggestions too.

Sure I wanted Rice when many others were screaming for Caicedo, and liked Havertz when he was still dog shit at Chelsea , but that was probably just pure luck rather than 180 page based decision.

Expand full comment

Big Tone

I suggest you read carefully what I posted previously.

Sesko is a replacement for Nketiah who will almost certainly be leaving the club.

He will be competing with Havertz for the centre forward position, but is likely to start the season

on the bench.

Havertz in contrast to Sesko is a versatile player who can play in both attack and midfield.

The expectation if you spend £50 million + on a player that he will start in the team. That is not

in dispute.

Expand full comment

This is exactly it, ES. Arteta wants to coach and develop Sesko. Mould him into a player that will flourish and 100% fit how our team currently works. So, considering that this is a project, we may not see him in the first 6 months when he will be fully coached to learn our system.

Further points.

1. The Kroenke family have since they took full control of club invested heavily in transfer market.

2. Josh Kroenke has made it also crystal clear that Arsenal's recruitment policy is to recruit

"young players" from Academy and elsewhere. The only two exceptions to that rule sofar has

been Raya and Trossard. All other players coming into club were aged 25 or under.

3. Last season Arsenal were successful in recruiting ALL 4 players that we bid for.

4. The only player that Chelsea has outbid us in recent times was Mudryk. Frankly that was a

blessing in disguise, because his current performance level does not match remotely the

price that Chelsea paid for him.

For clarification Sesko scored 11 goals and 2 assists in the final 16 Bundesliga games of the season.

So the statement made by Big-Tone that he cannot get into a "bang average Leipzig side" is factually incorrect.

As I pointed on several occasions Sesko is a replacement for Nketiah if he leaves and on current evidence he is an upgrade in the goalscoring department.

Expand full comment

Exactly! That’s why it seems like the most logical transfer to make, echoing the same point I made yesterday, Eddie out and Sesko in is all upside, doesn’t disrupt the status quo considering Arteta and Edu don’t need to rip it all up and start from scratch as we missed out by the finest of margins. Maybe that difference maker is Sesko. I think/hope we start from here and then with a few reinforcements that can play big minutes or step in when we need to rotate would make a fine summer of business.

He wants you to think he’s big

Bang average post by Big Moan I'd say.

Expand full comment

If you look at the stats Sesko has averaged c 0.5 goals per game for the last few years. That was always considered to be a decent target for years

Haaland for the last 3 years has been nearly 1 goal per game which is phenomenal.

However he is nearly 3 years older than Sesko so the punt is that with settling him in, general maturing and great coaching, his own stats can reach that higher plane. That would be the difference between a very good striker and a world class one

At £55m (no way is he going to be sold for 45m as too many bidders) it is worth that punt

Worst case scenario in my mind is that he is just ok and fills the gap while Chido Obi comes of age. But I suspect he will in fact be brilliant as he has alll the attributes- speed, strength, height and two footed control.

Cmon Arsenal get this over the line

One minute we are critisizing Wenger for Not spending, the next we are saying its Not worth spending unproven talent.

Make up your minds.

Expand full comment

Transfers are not always as straightforward as just buying a 'proven talent' like Rice. 'Unproven talent' - could mean a number of things: unproven in PL, unproven in terms of limited time playing e.g. an 18/19 year old, unproven in their ability to settle in a new country with new teammates and a new language.

There is also an element of succession planning, consider Saliba, much as I'd like him to stay with us for another 8 years, it could easily be that in 2 years he fancies a bit of Real Madrid. If we get a player in like Hato, who can play LB and LCB cover, for say £50m(?), in two years time he's be ready to be a nailed on CB starter.

Another reason for buying 'unproven talent' is that if you get them on the cusp of 'greatness' then they're just about affordable.

I guess, budget dependent, there is a combination of PL cooked, proven talent(Olise, Eze,) and up and coming potential 'superstars',(Hato, Sesko) who are to a degree 'unproven'.

'One minute' should read 'one decade' when criticising the club's spending under Wenger.

If Chelsea really are doing a Mudryk with both Olise and Sesko, then they must be running close to PSR breaches. Their amortisation from previous deals will be beginning to bite before they spend anything. Where is Swiss Ramble when you need him?

Expand full comment

Let's be clear Havertz will start next season in the first team as centre forward or in midfield.

If Sesko arrives at Arsenal he will need to bed into the squad and compete for centre forward position.

Osimhen based on his transfer fee and wages would expect to be picked for the starting lineup.

There is a huge difference between a negotiation for Mudryk and Sesko. There was no fixed buy

out clause for Mudryk and the club maxed the highest bid for player. In the case of Sesko Chelsea

will be competing with us on a "level" playing field so far as transfer fee.
