Raya is a good keeper, let that sink in

Btw Raya is elite. Time to appreciate the player we have on our team!

What a performance. This team is special. However, there are concerns imo. Trossard obviously feels disrepect and I think he made his point through his body language. Hope Arteta understands. Martinelli needs to to grow and trossard allowed to flourish. If Partey stays healthy we will be tough to beat! Up the Arse and best of luck to the rest of the league!

I asked this question last time, how many matches have we lost playing partey and Rice together in the midfield. Yet many are asking for a change.

Rogers loved playing against Partey as he was running rings around him in midfield

Yes he scored a great goal but he was also doing his best to attempt to concede a shed load. Where was he, for example, when Saliba had to move out of position after Gabriel’s mistake?

If he stays fit, he plays. it's not rocket science. Look how long Jesus lasted!

That is not the answer to my question though. So you are saying that because he is injury prone, he should not be used whenever he's fit. Because what I'm hearing here is that once merino signs, partey drops to the bench and Rice slots into the 6 position irrespective of the whether partey is fit or not. What I hear is that he's too old, too slow, can't run, can't turn etc. Although I'm sure arteta is wise and learning very fast and won't make the same mistake that cost us the title last season which is refusing to play partey against villa even though he was fit but chose to play havertz in the midfield to accommodate Jesus in the team.

Rich, your perspective is perfectly valid. However, as a coach myself, I can assure you that there are many dynamics to a team which are exaberated over the course of a season. Furthermore, its possible plan for the ebb and flow of a season but there needs to be an understanding that elite players win you games. Imo, Partey shows elite levels of play. It is up to the designers of the team to make contingency plans when things go awry. I contend that Partey is highly motivated to contribute this year.

Elite players can only win you games if they’re on the pitch, and Partey has averaged roughly just 50% of our league games since he’s been at the club.

… yet he club wins when he plays.

I like those odds

Also there’s not many top class No6s around.

…so why not keep one of the elite? Even if it means u have to go w/o him! Moving Declan to 6 and Merininar 8 sounds enticing to me.

So why start him? We can’t be showing him off for potential buyers if he is in such decline as you claim. Let’s give Arteta more credit than that. Merino reduces his impact to the team but he still has great value nonetheless

He's given us more than Jesus has and when available(which he is still), he will surely be more important for our title push than Jesus. Jesus is on 250k weekly by the way and many who feel partey is just happy taking the money don't feel the same about Jesus. Why? Why is nobody asking Jesus to go to Saudi Arabia or even go back to Brazil? Why is Partey so disrespected despite his value? People talk about him being 39 because he's African. South Americans also have history of altering their ages. Why is Partey a target. Jesus is injured already and the window is still open. But I'm yet to see the experts on Le grove calling for his fire sale before the window shuts but let it be partey and see the experts analysis. Even if he comes back from injury, he is at best a squad player.

You think you want to get 90+ points more than arteta right. You are thinking your understanding the structure more than the manager? I should have known better.

Trossard is the best finisher currently and that position is his. Time to move Martinelli to CF to back up Kai. He just hasn't developed the skillset to be a dominant winger like Saka or Tross, so just get him in the box so he has less time to think and just finish off chances.

Fantastic 3pts..job done...

Saka's passes in the box, looks simple, but are the end are lethal.

Timber should start at LB,

NIce saves from Raya,

Odegaard footwork are amazing, but sometimes are overdone.

Trossard should start

Poor, sweet, world class emi 😢

Between Timber and Calafiori who looked smooth as butter when he came on you're basically keeping Zinchenko as far away as possible from the team

Any news on how long Jesus is out for this time? Groin again, at least not the knee...

Brighton up next. They’ve looked really good so far. Gonna be another test. 7 pts out of the next 9 (Brighton home, Spurs away, City away) and you gotta think that’s a marker laid out to the league about our intent this season. Will be tough but that’s what we’re gonna need for another title challenge.

💪💪💪 3 points

Rode our luck a bit with brilliant Raya saves

Defence got to shake the cobwebs asap

Timber is good defensive, Calafiori gor turned twice, PL pace beware haha

With Merino and Partey and Jorginho we have the depth to hack it finally,

Forward looks weak on bench. Must sell Eddie amd ideally Nelson

Get at least a starting quality forward in and we re set

Pedro was out of town and couldn’t watch because of a delayed flight

That’s why the hoodoo was broken today
