Hands down one of the funniest opening statements I’ve read in a while!!

I confirmed Havertz is a silky Fellaini when he put his arm across Mosqueras neck(very dsngerous and illegal in rugby) before the later retaliated.

Havertz will score you lots of headers and corner goals(he is a silky Fellaini). He is worse than Giroud with his feet. I will post the data end season.

Winter soldier already has 7 goals in 3 games without Rodrigo and foden. We have no striker. Dey play. Our mind go soon touch ground. Season's already ending

If Havertz had the finishing abilities of Musiala than yes £67mil would be worth it, since he doesn't we overpaid. In the Germany v Hungary game Havertz had 4 most excellent chances two misses and one header on the crossbar plus hits the frame again. That chunk of money for someone that runs some excellent lines and just poses some threats in the final third plus provides some assists but is poor in finishing is not what I expected for £67mil.

buying a CF that only converts 50% of his chances is not £67mil worth.

Haaland misses a lot of big chances. He just gets fed loads. Would like to know his big chance conversion rate last season - and he’s the best goal scorer in England

When you score 70 goals in 69 games you earned the right to miss big chances. Havertz is light weight in front of goal. We ditched Eddie for the same reason. The problem is the situation and Arteta's stubbornness. He paid £67mil what is he going to do? Admit Havertz isn't what he thought he would be? Havertz showed the inability to finish in front of goal at Chelsea and he showed the same inability to finish in today's game against Hungary. Arteta is just not good at assembling forwards. Of the ones he bought ONLY Trossard is decent with Sterling yet to show what he can do in our squad and Jesus should be on the chopping block.

It’s time to put the havertz hate to bed. He’s one of the best CFs in England and the goal output is going to be way better this season with him having already settled in to the club plus hopefully playing close to all his games at CF unlike last season where he spent at least a third of the season in midfield

I got a bridge to sell you, are you interested?

Expand full comment

Frankly if you inverse the number of penalties both players took last season, their goals scored # would be extremely close despite the fact Havertz played a third of the season at CM…

Expand full comment

Well hang on a minute. Surely the % of chances you miss matters or it doesn’t. If you have 3 big chances per game and score a third of them you’re on an incredible 1 goal a game ratio. If said player gets only 2 big chances per game their ratio is 0.66 goals per game which is a 44% drop in total goals and looks WAY worse despite being the same efficiency

Next you also need to consider overall goal contributions because an assist is equally as valuable as a goal.

You should also factor penalties into the conversation (Haaland takes them but Saka takes ours)

Lastly you need to consider the wider contribution of a player to the team. Both players are at extreme opposite ends of that spectrum because Haaland is a goal monster but basically brings absolutely zero else to his team. Havertz is one of the best off the ball strikers in the world and contributes massively beyond his output.

Haaland

He created one all on his own and the keeper made a top save

Excuses, excuses and more excuses. Musiala didn't miss and that is the kind of forward we need. Arteta & Co are poor at getting the attack consistently finishing. Jesus has developed into a injury prone dud, who does Oscar winning tumbles in the box. Arteta put his money on Sesco and when that didn't materialize, there was no plan B.

Chelsea paying Sterling 10mil to play for AFC is an excellent deal, but it is not the future. Look at the attackers that the German national team has put together, they can be tops for 10 years.

Rice: I've felt rusty since season start

Declan Rice has opened up on his "rusty" fitness levels following his late return to Arsenal after Euro 2024.

YEP everyone with eyes could see that.

Chelsea an absolute fucking circus of a club despite the protestations of Dissenter.

Long may the laughter and merriment continue!

As I’m completely disinterested in the Nations League ( it s a disgrace of a tournament and not needed to crowd further the already crowded fixture list), my thoughts have turned to the NLD.

The loss of Rice as well as Merino means we need some repurposing of some players to fill the gaps. Relying on Partey without Rice could be asking for trouble. I’d love to see Calafiori as the stand in 6 (assuming he’s not seriously injured as well) and Timber at left 8. That would mean playing Zinchenko at LB (unless KT is used ?!) but with Cala and Jurrien ahead of him this shouldn’t matter too much.

Celebrate for the team you play for. Always trying to people please for the PR.

That’s because he kissed the FAI badge when he played for the Ireland U-21s and two non-competitive senior games he played for them.

He’s just being real there.

He should have celebrated. But I can't blame a guy for not wanting to be in the news for anything. Just does his job like a serious player and go about his day.

I am so proud of my Ireland. We booood your national anthem for what you have facilitated to those poor Palestinians. And I am a successful human being born in England. 54 years here but believe me I am going home to Ireland. 🇮🇪 This is disgusting. Whatever the result - I will watch Arsenal for a while but believe me I am leaving this country- you monsters !

Cyril - the tone of your first post was not helpful.

I’m still not sure how much of it was in jest but it was very insulting to England and English people just because you have a beef with one side of the Palestinian (what the fuck has that got to do with England football team?) and the Irish histories ( and I must emphasise you are blatantly ignoring the other side ). If you don’t want insults then don’t start inflammatory posts.

I’m not a tosser by the way.

Fucking hell now reports are saying Todd at Chelsea has fallen out with the fellow consortium owners

I have two theories about what’s going on

1) these owners have a strategy of doing something crazy every week to try and permanently put Chelsea in the news (any publicity is good publicity???) in the hope that it drives interest from curious American fans in the ‘exciting’ club Chelsea

2) these guys are fucking nuts and can’t run a club to save their lives

Can any of our American friends on here comment on if the way Chelsea is being run is comparable to how American sports teams are run? Do those owners do the same thing of turning their teams into a circus to drive interest or something???

Expand full comment

No. The only publicity is from the star players doing dumb shit to end up on TMZ or Twitter. Nobody cares about club owners. They are seen as nobodies, unless they are also reality TV stars like Mark Cuban or the like.

Expand full comment

But then how can a massive consortium and successful businessman like Todd appear to be so genuinely clueless?

Like even if they weren’t running the club well you’d at least think it might be run coherently. Even a bad strategy is a strategy. They just lurch from dumb shit to dumb shit every day. Honestly running out of ideas for how dumb these guys appear to be considering how successful they are

Expand full comment

I struggle with this too- he has succeeded in business I assume (I don’t know whether self made or just born lucky to right parents ) but he appears completely clueless.

His football pedigree is only partially relevant - the basics are still bleeding obvious

Expand full comment

I remember reading somewhere someone saying that running a football club is very different to running a company.

Boehly may be a very good businessman but he surely looks completely out if his depth as the business format is different.

Recruiting key personnel and listening to them at all levels of a football company is very important.

The fact that he sacked Pochetino says it all.

Poch was starting to do well and Boehly refused to listen to someone who knows far more about football than he does.

I really can't wait to see how much of a laughing stock Chelski will become if he carries on this way.

Expand full comment

What do you expect from an attention-seeking Todd Boehly that knows nothing about football? Surrounded by more people that are just as clueless. No point trying to figure out why. Just sit back and enjoy the circus with some popcorn.
