Great read Jamil

I'm against praising Arteta or comparing him to the greats. Give him applause for progressing us to this point, but he needs to win the PL or CL now. He's literally in his judgement season. Fail, and the criticism and the knives coming out are justified. All these nonsense posts about project phases are just nonsense. He has been manager for many seasons now and has extended his contract. Repay that contract by winning the PL trophy. Let's see how the rest of the season plays out. If he continues his rubbish mistakes, then I'm ready for someone new to take over.

A fine read Jamil-- thanks.

Pay no attention to the Twitterati-- some of us, in fact, enjoy positive reads like yours.

I find it fascinating that the views expressed so far in this thread, are the polar opposite to those I hear expressed at games, in the workplace, whilst talking with friends, or in the Arsenal community as a whole, here in the UK.

Please share? Am curious as I am not able to go to games or pubs in the UK as I am stateside. Some have been mentioned here by Pedro for sure.

The vast majority of fans I talk to are very supportive of Arteta. No-one is calling him a bullshitter, an idiot with transfers, or worse than Ten Hag. No-one is comparing him to a dog.

Some people are angry all the time. This is a place where they can spew their meanness in anonymity. £5 a month is cheaper than therapy.

Not angry just disappointed and saddened of where after almost 5 years of Arteta management Arsenal now is. These are the facts.

1. He has bought a dog and named him "Win", still no trophies.

2. He spent hundreds of millions, still no trophies.

3. He has assembled a squad that is always 1 or 2 injuries away from a disaster because he doesn't trust players he bought a year ago.

4. The title still remains a mathematical possibility but is in reality a pipe dream.

Your 500th iteration of the same comment on Le Grove.

Congrats!

Even after as you say 500 iterations you still don't acknowledge it and stay in denial, that saddens me even more then the state Arsenal is in. Hope you will recover soon.

He bought a dog and named him "Win" didn't he? That is so far all that he has produced since his mass spending that is associated with the word "win" or "winning" as the trophy cabinet is empty since the hundreds of millions spent. Progress does not have a trophy.

Enjoyed the read for sure.

However, reality, pgmol already has dented our leagues hopes, and our confidence with it.

People need to be reminded that 3 games with our players playing 10 v 11 for 75 minutes, puts players that are already in the red zone, into the "broke zone." That is where we are at squad wise.

Signing "broke" players to even longer contracts is a busted flush-period!

Our defense is not as tight right now, our offense is sputtering, that is what happens when White is playing at 50% or Ode is out, and the left hand side of the field is musical chairs on the titanic, fine margins indeed.

And I agree with Guns, allowing your GM or sporting director to be influenced in signings is a system failure.

Oh, and the Godzilla in the room is $h*tTy's 115.

We are realistically never going to be able to truly compete against that juggernaut as it stands, AFC can get close and maybe steal one, EPL or a CL trophy would be fine with me.

Another piece that is trying to deflect what is really happening at the club and best summed up this way:

To Arteta’s credit he has managed to spin his way through the almost winning something but not actually winning anything, with endless talk of faith and delusions of mythical projects leading everyone up the mountain and has managed to convince a section of the fanbase that this is all heading to a successful destination.

The only time winning is associated with Arteta is "Win" the dog he purchased.

Mike A should not have anything to do with transfers period. Making him a manager was a mistake. Its clear he aint no diamond eye. More like a bunch of sand in the eyes.

Anyone who allows his coaching staff to push his sporting director to sign certain players is a NO GO.

Stay in your lane Mike. Get the team winning games. Basic stuff like that

Transactional imitates the legend managers. Wenger moved Coquelin from RB to DM, so he moves Partey from DM to RB.😂

The Project is bollocks, just a way to delay expectations of winning trophies again. It took Arteta 2.5 seasons to get us back to where we were in league when he took over from Emery.

Arteta is not close to being in the same conversation as Pep, Klopp and Emery who all have won multiple domestic and European trophies while our novice manager has won sweet fa with his chosen players.

Even ten Hag been more successful with trophies than our supposed world class manager who thinks it clever to play Partey at right back while load up squad with permanently injured left backs. I don't know where this attitude that winning trophies isn't really important because we just enjoying the vibes now but it's ridiculous.
