This (Nwaneri having to step up) is what’s literally the difference between the men and the boys. Sink or swim. Do or die.

Sky sports headline ‘spurs sink Coventry to keep 4 trophies alive for spurs’ - this has GOT to be tongue in cheek surely

Not a sincere headline, whoever wrote it had a nice chuckle to themselves

Yes it’s very disappointing as he’s our captain and one of our best players, but you don’t win a league by playing your best 11 players every week

Sooner or later you’ll go into games without this that or the other top player(s).

It’s disappointing but it leads a pathway to whoever Mikel trusts to to fill in for him.

Vs city I think we’ll start with the same 11 as vs spurs but with rice in for trossard.

Rice partey jorgi would be a stacked CM in terms of helping to limit city. Rice is a threat on the front foot as well and this leaves Kai up front which I think is for the best

Curious to see if Arteta picks trossard instead of Jorgi/Partey tho

My spurs boy sent me a message from the Rabbi . So in response to his song ( bless him- not well )about singing in France and Spain - it goes like this - ‘we sung in France and we sung in Spain - we kept Son quiet and won at the Lane.’ I shall be singing this at Leicester game - when I get my ST back for it - 1 day only for me enjoy the fun gooners !

Can’t wait for Mystic’s tally of pro Arsenal ref decisions.

I’m sure it will provoke a civil and honest debate with Nigel and Positive Pete.

Howard Webb on his joke of a show with the cuck Mick Owen has just given absolutely zero ground on the Rice decision. Conceded nothing. Completely toed the line. What a fucking coward. You can respect an honest discussion and acknowledging nuance and grey areas with interpretation but when you go on tv and try to gaslight us like this with your propaganda you lose all credibility.

PGMOL is a racket.

Mistake leaves is describing plays like a Tottenham fan would... as if we were lucky to get away with something.

To even mention a nothing push as if there was any other way to see it? Even Romero didn't make a big deal about it. That's regular football play.

What is your agenda?

It was nothing. Nobody did us a favour by ignoring it. To even think of it that way is mental illness if you're truly an Arsenal supporter.

Reiss Nelson is being shown a lot of love by my Fulham mates. He’s just tied the league cup game and was great over the weekend according to them. Hmmm.

Interesting. He’s on loan, no?

Long may he continue to shine.

Probably the only striker I’d really want joining us. Seems to be disproving the 1 season wonder concerns.

Supposedly we went after Sesko (I kind of doubted it at first but some people with info said we did) so we'll see if we revisit that in the next year or two.

Really glad we won. We played exactly how to wanted us to play, conservatively, and won. Does a lot for the lads confidence.

Interesting though the decisions in the match. What's even more interesting is how the usual "referees are against us" mob on le grove are trying to justify the decisions that went our way.

The tackle from Timber on the ankle

The push by Gabriel for the goal

The shirt grab and pull by Timber(?)

The lopsided yellow card count to spurs even though it seemed we did the more "dangerous fouls" and they were at home.

In another game and these decisions went against Arsenal the usual knobs will be shouting referee conspiracy.

The point I'm trying to make? It would take a very special (not in a good way) fellow to seriously think that the referees are against a particular team in competition that has 20 teams and multiple clubs from the same regions at a time.

My side hustle will be to make cliff notes of any Arsenal matches I catch where it seems the ref favoured us.

Give it a rest, you mustn't always be contrary every time,if as an arsenal fan you're like this, trying to imagine you as an opposition

Just because your mother's "side hustle" was giving it up around the village without bias and prejudice doesn't mean you have to follow suit this way and make your "side hustle" watching football games of a team you claim to love without bias and prejudice.

All without Øde, short on defensive options ... Timber is really not good for 90 even though he did it, he has been very heavy legged so far in second halves. Understandable, but I hope relying on him so much doesn't cause a re- injury.

Kiwior has to start Thursday, and I never expected to need him at this point, that's how bad things are... I was desperate to see him sold, and I think Tomiyasu injury made us keep him around with Timber in early stages of recovery.

Also.. Merino was going to be a nailed on starter for Man City. Exactly the kind of matchup he was bought for.

If we get a draw I will feel incredibly satisfied to stay within a couple points of them.. those points are only down to ref typical corruption. No way we were heading for dropped points against Brighton. We would have a perfect record with 0 goals conceded in 4 games. All with the injury problems, and after a NLD without our 3 first choice midfielders.

We're doing a great job to stay close to the cheaters,.

Loads of credit to the boys and the coaches against serious adversity.

What I like about Timber against spuds and indeed all his games this season was that he didn't try to play like zinchenko and turn himself to another midfielder while abandoning his main job as a left back. I didn't remember seeing him stray away to the midfield. He was focused on the job and the man he was asked to mark. But Tierney and tomiyasu more than necessary do try to play like zinchenko which they struggle to do most of the time.

? You do know they play as instructed by they manager according to the game state and matchups, right?

Everything you just pointed out is completely down to the manager and explicit instructions.

If Tomiyasu or anybody else is marauding forward, it's because we're either chasing a goal or looking to run up the goal difference in an easy win.

You think Arteta would want Timber taking chances with a 1 goal lead away at Spurs ? Think man.

I think Tomi is very competent as a left back … arteta needs to play Zinchenko as an attacking midfielder or sell him

Expand full comment

I think we would have seen Zinchenko at some point if he was fit against Spurs, likely to control in midfield.

Arteta hinted he had some different plans her had to abandon because of a late injury before the game.
