Arsenal have recruited two Portuguese players in Cedric and Vieira. Both were a waste a space in our squad. Cedric is out on a free this summer but Vieira will be difficult to shift as Sid points out.

We will buy only one midfielder this summer, but there are potentially four players leaving in Partey,

Elneny, Smith-Rowe, Vieira.

Arsenal will need at least replacements in MF. So I would hope that Nanweri will be promoted to first team squad.

Vieira, with 3 yrs left on his contract, should be sent out for a future transfer nurturing loan!

I want Neves.

Depends on price and need to look deeper into passing stats. He was born to be an Arteta player.

Theres No EPL team that will sign Vieira.

I agree - the sale potential is with ESR. It’s not choosing who to sell which some players on here seem to think

Vieira does need a loan to build up his value either for us or for resale. That would have to be on a slower league

I agree with you, but it depends on transfer fee Fulham will offer.

One surprise to me was that Smith-Rowe is apparently the lowest earner in our first team squad apart from Hein. If that is true then it should not be difficult to get a decent transfer fee.

Personally I would prefer to offload Vieira if given the choice.

Habesha knows about him. Mentions him all the time as his alternative to Bruno G. I like his name, don't really know his game but the analysis on him is positive. He has a small frame but strong physically and a big RC (100m).

Downsides for me is price, age and readiness to hit the league running. We need ready players. 3 years of top top performances off the bat from Bruno G (which woul result in a title or 2) will be 100m better spent, for me.

The YouTube vids make Neves look amazing- only 19!

It's what he does well... all the hard work, his physicality even though he's not big. But I hear he has an enormous release clause?

Next season will be the peak of our hunger and desire to win the EPL. Our team would do insane things and some players could produce special moments and otherworldly numbers. We have to make sure that all the stars align from the off. It could be massive (positively or negatively) for us, what happens next season.

Just posted elsewhere that Sesko is far from a done deal and Chelsea, according to Ben Jacob’s are also is for him and reading between the lines they may well be more advanced in the discussions

Classic part of negotiations, ensure that there is a rumour more than one club keen on a player to ripen the deal for the selling club.

Per Mertesacker is polishing the Arsenal gems the German way.

On Bakayoko, I watch Dutch league on ESPN. I can say he's fast, not rapid. He can take on a player when he has space and bring the chaos factor but he's not exactly good nor comfortable in tight spaces nor 1v1 dribbles. For 50m I think we can do better. But if Baka comes, we'd have to be a whole lot patient. Still many things to learn and add to his game.

I'm saying it now. If we get league ready players and hit the ground running (no mess ups or complicated new styles) City won't see our back. This last 2 seasons they haven't been vintage at all and I assume they will continue their decline. Depending on how we start and how Liverpool kicks on under Slot, City may just finish 3rd.

Not so much mystic leaves more crystal ball. I'd wait to see who City invest in before checking the tea leaves!

Signings are always a factor. But I believe we have been better than city for the past 2 seasons. We just had in-club factors that went against us. Add that to the increasing motivation issues they'd have next season---some of their key players may be bored already of repeating the same feat every year.

Honestly, I think the last 2 seasons have been decided by us, it will continue in that same pattern next season, irrespective of who city sign.

I would prefer a PL proven, midfielder. We only have Rice and Ode that can play 2 games a week, assuming Havertz is CF.

It would be risky relying on a midfielder from ligue 1 or la liga to start twice a week.

A few interesting links today

Sesko 45m

Bakayoko 50m from psv as a saka competitor

Fofana 25n from Monaco as a bargain partey replacement

I don’t know if all these guys are up to it but if they are that’s 3 players in the most important positions we need to strengthen for only 120m. Then only a Rambo replacement needed. That’s a lot of good business rather than blowing 80-100m a piece on individual players IF these guys are all up to scratch
