"Is my thinking reasonable?"

Not really cause the latest rumor is we're interested in signing Atletico Mineiro’s 15y/o left-footed RW Gabriel Veneno for £12m.

Also, fuck Nypan. Always hated that kid. An 18 yo European CM so highly rated that he'll be cheaper than a 15 yo Brazilian child.

We've got MLS and Nwaneri, who if they were on the market tomorrow, would fetch us ~£50m each. But you know, there's a Norwegian teenager, 3 months younger than MLS and 4 months older than Nwaneri that has been visiting about 138 clubs and instead of going on trials, he's trialing the clubs he's visited. He's a spoiled brat going around picking the club he'll play for. He ain't that good.

He's worth peanuts compared to any top talent out there. You know why? Cause he would be a lower fee punt than even Lokonga. Not everyone can do a Martinelli. Top talent is way more expensive.

Estevao Willian, who joined Chavs last summer, aged 17, for £29m up to £55m with add-ons. That's the rate of a top, top talent. Same way an 18 yo Saliba joined us for £27m.

£10m Nypan is not a big loss. If we really, really wanted him, he would have either joined us already, or he'd be arranged to join first thing in the summer. He isn't and I'm even glad we passed on him.

Spending £50m on a 15 year old is more reasonable developing our own youth team talents? How much did Madrid splashed on your nightmare odegaard when he was 15? And how did that turn out? In the past decade mentioned any teenage potential that cost millions that went on to fulfill their hype. Only the talents that came from the youth teams for free like saka, Yamal, pedri, Williams and several other barca products. Why isn't it more reasonable to focus on our own academy talents than chasing shadows around the world.

So my thinking is unreasonable based on a rumour about us signing a 15-year old Brazilian left footer? A player who would unlikely to join us for a couple of years at least.

Obviously if a player is a real talent it who cares what foot he favours but that rumour....

It was more of a "apparently not".

We've been quite idiotic with our acquisitions in terms of - let's play a right-footed CB/RB Timber at LB, let's play a right-footed CB/RB Tomiyasu at LB. Let's play a #6 at RB (Partey), let's play a #6 at #8 (Rice), a #8 at #10 (Ode), a winger at CF (Trossard), a winger at CF (Jesus), a #8 at #9 (Merino), although the last wasn't by choice.

I like the whole versatility idea but I would like us to get a couple of specialists now. I'm over player the do-it-all Swiss army knives. Get players who've done it in that position or players that are universally accepted as top talents.
