The German team isnt playing to Havertz strengths.

Ist goal has to be a Setpiece then the game will open up.

How Arsenal paid £65m for that lanky German donkey will remain a mystery until the end of time.

You're incapable of saying anything positive about The Arsenal.

It just shows that you are not much of a Gooner and just here polluting the air for the sake if it.

When Arsenal do what is required to be successful, I will say positive things.

But until then...

So... another glory hunter.

Or supporting another team.

Regardless, you not have once said anything positive on this blog about The Arsenal.

Just another troll basically.

He is just repeating what most pundits and others observed. With Havertz in the team they are less of a threat then with Fullkrug. If Havertz starts in the round of 16 is to be seen but I would not be surprised to see Fullkrug start in Dortmund his home club ground. So far Havertz has not done anything in the Euro 2024 to write home about it.

I am really enjoying the Switzerland v Germany game. The Germans are doing their all to nit score.

I am seeing a draw now with a late goal by the Germans.

Expand full comment

The Germans are overdoing the fouls and the trip ups.

Focus on playing football instead of gambling on the ref giving you everything (which will probably happen in the second half anyway).

There seem to be two ultimate put downs on this site; one is to call someone a Spud , and another to say they got it wrong about something.

The first one I can kinda understand even if it makes me laugh, but the second one is the most pathetic admission of having a gigantic chip on a shoulder imaginable.

“Do I even need to mention Bissouma? Clowns were tearing their hair out over him going to spurs, (because no big club wanted him).

And that's just the fool Tom and his spurs love.

Dozens of grovers were right there with him, even though he's the worst judge of talent.“

Bissouma was a good value at 25m but I understand why Arsenal would never touch him at any price considering his legal case resembling Partey’s, is what I said at the time.

But I suppose when you live in a moldy basement deprived of fresh air that could be mistaken for tearing one’s hair out due to missing out on him.

Tell everyone again how you were right about Havertz when everyone was against him lol.

Apparently The football leaks hacker, currently under police protection witness scheme is in the process of releasing another 5 Hard drive discs choca with info emails ‘proving ‘the alleged fiddling no less?.Interesting if true? Has already provided info to the prem for their case & a shed load more to come by the looks of it.Which is also being passed to UEFA.Not looking good at all for the oilers. Not good at all.

Expand full comment

You really think information obtained by a hacker will be admissible in court for a high profile case?

Some of you have lost all objectivity with this city issue.

Now we are down to rumor peddling

Expand full comment

But there is some benefit to these stories even if they end up inadmissible in some court settings.

Noise around the club, the louder it gets, can be a distraction, it can make some players re-think future plans if it starts to look threatening to Man City's comfortably assured top position as well as the assumption that they'll be in the champions league easily every season.

The saying: "No such thing as bad publicity"

Doesn't really apply in sports.

Already is diss.I assume you want, just like the rest of us,for the oilers to get what’s coming to them? Facts are facts at the end of the day .If they’re true?

As per this link, hacked evidence can be made admissible in court, despite it being illegal. There is precedence.

I’m sure the city QCs will agree with that, that will be basis if dragging the case in and on.

Expand full comment

If it is hard evidence, it could dissuade Cheaty of going any further with their court case vs the PL.

Of course, what remains to be seen is if this evidence actually exists.

There is no time constraint on this set of charges ,so the oilers can’t pull the same stunt as they did with UEFA.That doors shut.

That's a big point.

Imagine a world where anyone can hack you and then use the information to legally charge you.

Police everywhere don’t have to respect constitutional laws related to search and seizure….they can just commission a hacker to get that information for them.

A hacking is like burglary, you get that right?

If you’ve done nothing wrong you’ve nothing to fear however the evidence is obtained. The means justify the ends in their case.

Think Mi5, Mi6.... there are 2 types of evidence: circumstantial and irrefutable evidence.

Circumstantial cannot be provided in court as it is too flimsy to be withheld in court.

Irrefutable evidence that clearly points to wrong doing us always going to be admissible.

We live in world where Big Brother is watching every step.

I'll give you an idea of this. All ISP's keep track of everything you do anyway....

I'll give you an idea of how far this goes. I used to torrent. So many websites were actually blocked by the ISP unless a proxy/ VPN was used...

Many instances of papers and data being released by anonymous sources-- have brought about societal and political change. One's perspective determines whether or not it's considered positive change.

Expand full comment

Let's hope this is true. It would be nice to see Cheaty pay for their financial fiddling that helped them be where they are now.

The PL really need to make sure that there is some level of fair play. Allowing some clubs to have access to unlimited funds is a step too far and must be reigned it at all costs.

Where is the Arsenal news? This radio silence is unnerving. Its so quiet, Onana is starting to look like a good shout.

Arsenal will not do any meaningful [err. no] business until the two international tournaments are over. Best to focus on something else for now.

When we sign Gyokeres his girlfriend has to quit playing for spurs.

I don't believe Arsenal will sign Gyokeres.

And how many of you wouldn't stop screeching that we missed out by not getting Onana as a keeper?

Nobody will want to be reminded of that, will they? I could list so many United players that all the grovers wanted including Wan Bissaka and Sancho...

And Ten Hag too.... You all thought he was gonna be the man. Great judgement.

Nigel - let it go mate. I don’t know who you’re arguing against but you keep coming back with this stuff

Expand full comment

Sorry but did you want Onana or Ten Hag? Bissouma?

Do you want the Everton Onana now ? (I hope not).

I'm making an honest point about a lot of football fans who think they're experts... they cry when they don't get the player they want, moan about our buys, and when the players they wanted turn out to be shit for other clubs, they say stop talking about it, as you're doing now.

Live with your record of opinions and don't blame me for remembering people's really bad opinions.

Expand full comment

I would also say that opinions move on and most are initially based on a lucky guess that you get right some of the time. That is because no one on here has the time or skill set to scout players properly

So if you really have guessed players right Nigel (and frankly I don’t give a shit whether you did or didn’t) then good for you but it was nothing but a correct GUESS.

Unless of course you are fortunate enough to have the time to put in those physical hours to scout these players - but somehow I doubt you’d be a poster on here in that case

Expand full comment

None of those actually. I also posted I didn’t think Onana 2 was as bad as some like yourself making out. I’d be happy if we signed him but I won’t be too fussed if we don’t either. There are both strengths and limitations with him.

I do broadly trust the process with a few exceptions (fervently against selling Martinez, against signing Willian and was all for selling Auba after the Cup Final 2020)

Expand full comment

Onana is shit.

AIM higher. This is not Tottenham like with your previous favourite Bissouma.

Expand full comment

Dissenter may not agree, but I'd go farther than what he's said.

For years, every player signed by every other club in the world is rated by the majority of grovers as "brilliant business" this goes all the way back to Roberto Slodado who the spurs wasted a chunk of the Bale money on.

Staying with spurs, their idiot walking red card Romero was going to be the best CB ever according to a fee grovers....Kulusevsky, who works hard, but has total shit output and worst final ball you could ever see, was wished for by grovers too..

Do I even need to mention Bissouma? Clowns were tearing their hair out over him going to spurs, (because no big club wanted him).

And that's just the fool Tom and his spurs love.

Dozens of grovers were right there with him, even though he's the worst judge of talent.

I was told here Nkunku would be one of the best players the premier league has ever seen, unstoppable. Enzo would set the world on fire, Caicedo the over priced mess as well..

Doku, the brainless dribbler was such "a miss" by Edu too, just a year ago.

It goes on and on to even smaller clubs buys.

Gooners can be the most covetous jealous fans around.

They can have wagyu beef level talent playing at the Emirates, but they're busy drooling over clubs and their over priced McDonald's burgers.

I really find the whining about Villa's signing of Iregbunam to be very petty and distasteful.

Our fans have become professional moaners, looking for conspiracy under every bush.

How is this speculative transfer any different from Arsenal slashing out 35 million pounds on Viera, who was even medium term crocked at the time, what were we trying to hide then?

The Aston Villa transfer set-up have become astute at signing speculative players like Iregbunam; they signed Jhon Duran for 18 million in Jan 2023 from the MLS and then Morgan Rogers for 8 million form Middlesbrough in January 2024. Both speculative transfers have worked for them.

Can we just stop this judgmental and rather condescending attitudes.

The only person in this post who has mentioned Iroegbunam was Pedro, and that was in the context of swap deals being used to manipulate PSR. Nothing to do with the assessment of the player. He signed for Everton btw

Can't really hate Lukaku. If he had more luck, he'd be the best striker in the world. Runs the channels, holds up play, brings people in every time. Takes his man on and can score all type of goals. What a player!!

Expand full comment

The PSR rules should have required cash to take place, whether now or accrued. Valuing a swap at a no doubt artificial price when the value isn’t tested makes PSR pointless. It doesn’t make a club more financially responsible, which was the whole point of PSR

Don’t care about Saliba’s international exploits, he’s already been great for us.

I can only see negatives from France possibly going all the way; one, more minutes for a CB Arteta won’t rotate, and two, this will only make those fuckers from Madrid look even closer at stealing him.
