Mbappé looks more comfortable without the face mask. What a lovely cross and France finally score a goal from open play.

City have around 8 defenders.

We've got about 6 LBs - Zinchenko, Tierney, Tavares, Tomiyasu, Timber, Kiwior (neither of them ideal btw)

Surely we need to sell before we buy. Same way we're supposed to sell Ramsdale BEFORE we sign another GK.

Obviously, when we go to buy, they might ask us for more money.

What I mean is, we need to concentrate a lot of our focus into selling the players we want to sell. The Nketiahs, the Nelsons, the Zinchenkos, the Ramsdales, the Tavares, Lokonga, the Smith, Partey etc. Even Jesus, Tomiyasu etc.

Let's get someone out the door. See where we're at. There are so many players out there.

Arteta likes to collect left backs and goal keepers judging by his purchases over the past few years.

Manchester United formal bid worth over €50m for Leny Yoro has been accepted by Lille today.

Lille, insisting with Yoro to accept Man Utd as it’s best proposal on their table.

↪️⚪️ Leny Yoro has always given priority to Real Madrid, waiting for them.

Real Madrid remain very relaxed and calm on Leny Yoro case even after Man United bid.

Real are aware of Yoro’s preference to join them; deal to be done this summer at their conditions, below €60m… …or happy to wait until June 2025 to sign Yoro as free agent.

It's very tough to compete for a Real Madrid target. Chances are, you'll be made a laughing stock.

For some reasons I am missing the old le-grove, not saying the current platform is bad.

It is awesome and good looking, but I feel like I am missing something.

What a shitty view of the club.

Also ignorant because the club is doing everything possible to improve..

We're spending as much as allowed.

Trying to be proactive to find even the smallest improvements to get us closer to the champions 6 of the last 7 seasons.

I guess Klopp was satisfied winning that 1 title and was ok with narrowly missing out the other 6 attempts.

You have no idea of the context of the world around you to go along with sickening negativity.

- Arsenal interested in Wolves goalkeeper as a possible No2 option for upcoming season should Ramsdale leave

- Player spent 7 years at Arsenal academy

- Knows Inaki Cana from time at Brentford

- Wolves could be tempted if deal gives them money to invest in squad

This Cana dude only buys GKs he's worked with before? What about the other 200 GKs he hasn't worked with? Weird.

Arsenal are supposedly in for Ajax striker Brian brobbey who scored 22 and assisted about 10 more in 40 something games last season

As nice as those numbers look I can’t be endorsing us signing a guy with a name this silly. If he flops the opposition fans will call him Mr blobby. I’m sorry I just can’t 😂😂

It would be daylight "robbery" if we signed him up for mega money.

Good luck Cozier-Duberry at Brighton. Will be interesting to see how he gets on. Highly rated by a few teams who were after him .

He’s had the chance to observe Saka’s decision making and at the moment he is ‘too head down’. He’s young, has some good skills and could develop but until he starts passing the ball better, he’ll come across as a bit ‘playground’- mostly dribbles then tries to shoot instead of passing to a teammate in a better position.

I agree that while Saliba loves the club, it's not the same deep connection as some of the other players. If in 2 seasons Real Madrid come in for him (his contract expires in 2027), I can defo see him pushing for that move - esp to play with the other french lads Camavinga, Tchouaméni, Mbappe.

The English lads - Saka, White, Rice - and adopted Londoners - Raya, Martinelli, Odegaard, Havertz - have absolutely no interest in leaving Arsenal (and living in London) as long as we are competing for titles, and playing Champions League football.

So if Madrid come for martineli, he will turn it down because he's more loyal to arsenal? The reason martineli is is not 'being disloyal' is because he is not Madrid standard. How many Epl clubs bid for Bellingham when he chose to go to Madrid? Non you think?

Madrid are in another level. Few players will turn them down. Not Rice or even saka the way we are just satisfied with just competing and waiting for Pep to leave.

So you think the players and Arteta were satisfied with missing out on PL and ‘are just satisfied with just competing’? You’re deluded if you do.

Expand full comment

Which of the top clubs in England have been satisfied missing out of PL in the past four years when City just show up and win it. So it is no only arsenal or arteta. But the fact is not whether they are satisfied or disappointed, but have they won it? No. We were close to it two seasons in a row when City were not at their best or focus on other things. Last year for example, we lost because arteta decided to start his two favorites together against a good team.

Expand full comment

I'm just throwing your words back at you.

Now you're saying

'But the fact is not whether they are satisfied or disappointed, but have they won it?'

and

'we lost because arteta decided to start his two favourites together against a good team'.

Arteta has lots of 'favourites', that's what managers do, pick their favourites. Not sure what game you're referring to, possibly the Villa game but we only dropped 5 points in our last 18 games, the other 2 points were against City. So your logic is that even though in all those other games where Arteta picked his favourites we were successful, the one game where we lost, he caused it by playing 'two favourites together'.

You're a little muddled. Last season we lost by only two points- we dropped points in 10 games. You could highlight any of those games, just as City could highlight the games where they dropped points.

We lost because over 38 games we got less points than City. A team who has won 6 out of the last 7, to dominate. We all want to win, the players and Arteta in particular but getting that close was no disgrace.

Expand full comment

We were ahead of city with how many games to go? All we needed was victory over villa. Everyone knew what we needed to do except that arteta will rather play Jesus and havertz together. We lost the match and he didn't repeat the lineup again till the end of the season and we won all our remaining games. So it is not because city were better but because arteta will place his personal interest above the collective. The questions is why didn't arteta repeat that lineup again?

Expand full comment

Serious narrative against Arteta. ‘All we needed was victory over Villa’.

We won six games straight after that one loss in 18 games.

‘Personal interest’ you genuinely think that Arteta doesn’t want to win every game? Even if, as you suggest, playing Havertz and Jesus was a mistake then can you give him any credit for 28 wins and 89 points.

Your posts are more about the fact that you don’t like or rate Arteta and that Arteta somehow ‘threw the title away’ due to his ego messing with his selections. Most supporters think Arteta is doing a great job and are confident that we’re on the brink of winning PL.

Expand full comment

The fact is that the last two seasons were there for us to take. The first one we were leading with ten point and saliba whom less than ten months earlier, was not deemed fit to play league cup for us got injured and rather than play kiwior, arteta decided to play Holding. It was after we lost ALL our point advantage over City that he started using kiwior. But it was too late because Pep won't throw such opportunity away.

Expand full comment

You make a reasonable point but Saliba was an Arsenal fan as a kid or at the very least had an Arsenal shirt! Maybe I’m clutching at straws because he probably owned a RM shirt too!

To be fair we no longer have Manchester United, Barcelona or Chelsea, coming in for our best players, so if it's only Real Madrid who can turn their heads we are in a better place than we have been since the early Wenger era.
