We've got about 6 LBs - Zinchenko, Tierney, Tavares, Tomiyasu, Timber, Kiwior (neither of them ideal btw)
Surely we need to sell before we buy. Same way we're supposed to sell Ramsdale BEFORE we sign another GK.
Obviously, when we go to buy, they might ask us for more money.
What I mean is, we need to concentrate a lot of our focus into selling the players we want to sell. The Nketiahs, the Nelsons, the Zinchenkos, the Ramsdales, the Tavares, Lokonga, the Smith, Partey etc. Even Jesus, Tomiyasu etc.
Let's get someone out the door. See where we're at. There are so many players out there.
Manchester United formal bid worth over €50m for Leny Yoro has been accepted by Lille today.
Lille, insisting with Yoro to accept Man Utd as it’s best proposal on their table.
↪️⚪️ Leny Yoro has always given priority to Real Madrid, waiting for them.
Real Madrid remain very relaxed and calm on Leny Yoro case even after Man United bid.
Real are aware of Yoro’s preference to join them; deal to be done this summer at their conditions, below €60m… …or happy to wait until June 2025 to sign Yoro as free agent.
Arteta may need to convince Arsenal chiefs on Calafiori…
So he should… Have no idea about the quality of the player.. Never even heard of him before the Euros.
But we’ve already got Zinchenko who’s never played more than 2,500 minutes in a season at club level, and has had persistent calf issues.
Tomi’s availability has been horrendous over his 3 seasons at the club.
Timber was just bad luck with an impact injury, but we’ll likely need to manage his game time to begin with.
We’ve still got Tierney on our books until 2026, and there’s no way anyone in their right mind would take this guy on a permanent deal, we’ll likely loan him out again, and end up paying some, or most of his wages.
Tavares needs to go, but still has one year left on his contract.
To go and sign another left sided defender with significant injury history, and look to play him at left back, which is a more physically demanding role than centre back…
Just feels like basket-case lunacy to me.
There are examples of players having issues when they’re young, and then finding fitness later on…
But I’m still damaged from that period where we had Rosicky, Ramsey, Wilshere, Diaby, Ox, , and Arteta in his last season…
They were all perpetually injured, and we ended up banjaxing Cazorla as a result from our over reliance upon him…
What's happened with Tierney isn't Arteta’s fault. If he was ever fit for a spell he would have been sold even if for not as much as we would have liked. Now he's a crocked write off loss.
Kiwior it seems is slightly timid for our game in my view.. but he's well liked in Europe so we should be able to profit or break even.
I think there's too much negativity about Zinchenko and I think he could have uses ..or i sell at a good price. He's a brilliant player overall and I'd use him in midfield. I find everyone forgets his quality.
Hopefully we can move Tavares for more than nothing.
I agree with you. We have so many other areas to prioritise such as a CF and a back up LW to deputise that I really do not understand why we need yet another LB when we are well stacked. Had we sold a LB or 2 like Zinky and Tierney, the purchase would have maybe made sense.
The problem is that he is an injury prone player that will join what is a very tough league, which makes me wonder if he will even adapt to the rigours required to play in the EPL.
Sounds like he'll end up more often crocked than on the pitch, which would make you wonder why we will have bothered with yet another player who can barely play for a sustained amount of time and not contribute.
I don't understand why people are suddenly surprised that arteta want to sign a defender. The fact is that you should be surprised if he doesn't do so. Since he became our manager, how many attacking players have he signed compared to defensive minded players? Jesus, trossard odegaard and Vieira. Eight window, four forward players. You can count the defensive players.

"David Raya's time in north London has been extended after he made his loan move from Brentford permanent, and last season saw him become the 15th player from Spain to represent our men's first team.
We've given you five minutes to name as many as you can, so have a go below and see how you fare!"
Arsenal are supposedly in for Ajax striker Brian brobbey who scored 22 and assisted about 10 more in 40 something games last season
As nice as those numbers look I can’t be endorsing us signing a guy with a name this silly. If he flops the opposition fans will call him Mr blobby. I’m sorry I just can’t 😂😂
"Arsenal cancelled 24 season tickets last season as part of the club’s push to ensure the Emirates Stadium is full every week ..... The club are also clamping down on touting and banned 20,000 members and 54 season-ticket holders for attempting to obtain tickets in unauthorised ways."
He’s had the chance to observe Saka’s decision making and at the moment he is ‘too head down’. He’s young, has some good skills and could develop but until he starts passing the ball better, he’ll come across as a bit ‘playground’- mostly dribbles then tries to shoot instead of passing to a teammate in a better position.
Mbappé looks more comfortable without the face mask. What a lovely cross and France finally score a goal from open play.
City have around 8 defenders.

Arteta likes to collect left backs and goal keepers judging by his purchases over the past few years.

It's very tough to compete for a Real Madrid target. Chances are, you'll be made a laughing stock.

Arteta needs to be reigned in here, there’s apparently people at Arsenal with the same concerns as I have.
Not beating the Hollandarians is unacceptable
For some reasons I am missing the old le-grove, not saying the current platform is bad.
It is awesome and good looking, but I feel like I am missing something.
Jude Bellingham looks to me as a physically stronger Aaron Ramsey.
He doesn't have half of the skills Aaron.

It’s not that we’ve gone for a defender, it’s that we’re going for one with significant injury history.
I feel your pain!

What a shitty view of the club.
Also ignorant because the club is doing everything possible to improve..
We're spending as much as allowed.
Trying to be proactive to find even the smallest improvements to get us closer to the champions 6 of the last 7 seasons.
I guess Klopp was satisfied winning that 1 title and was ok with narrowly missing out the other 6 attempts.
You have no idea of the context of the world around you to go along with sickening negativity.

- Arsenal interested in Wolves goalkeeper as a possible No2 option for upcoming season should Ramsdale leave
- Player spent 7 years at Arsenal academy
- Knows Inaki Cana from time at Brentford
- Wolves could be tempted if deal gives them money to invest in squad

This Cana dude only buys GKs he's worked with before? What about the other 200 GKs he hasn't worked with? Weird.
I read Wolves want £1m while Arsenal hope to bring him for "a lot less". Lol...

It would be daylight "robbery" if we signed him up for mega money.
Daylight brobbery!

Good luck Cozier-Duberry at Brighton. Will be interesting to see how he gets on. Highly rated by a few teams who were after him .
