Saka with a stunner. Obviously. Assisted by Ricey.

What a goal it was with country’s fate on the line. Been England’s best player this tournament by a measure, Bellingham’s heroic’s notwithstanding.

Foden is such a trash player for England. How has he managed to play this much in the euros???

He’s been dreadful in every fucking match

Yes Southgate is poor but southgate doesn’t make it so Foden can’t execute simple passes, control the ball or make correct simple decisions. Southgate has got to pull him now as he’s such a dead weight

Joao Felix absolute bum. Can't believe some were pushing for him to join us. Mentally weak and not willing to put in a shift either.

England has a lot to live up tomorrow.

Both of today’s matches have been top entertainment

Anyone else thinking Calafiori will be our new DM? Replacement for Partey.

Expand full comment

That's Dekkers all day mate, so not really. That will be a totally new position for Calafiori.

He'll be a back up LB and molded into an 8.

As well documented in this thread today, Arteta loves his versatile players.

Well in Spain. That was a proper slug fest

I think it was a certain pen for Germany when Musiala's shot, possibly going in, was stopped by Cucurella's hand.

Of course it was an English ref to fuck it up. The worst decisions of the tourney made by English refs.

Expand full comment

You clearly haven’t been watching non English refs for the last 30 years

Expand full comment

The same English referee allowed kroos to stay remain on the pitch when he was supposed to have been sent off long before the penalty shout

Expand full comment

I totally agree with you there raps.

This was 100% a pen.

Contrast that with the pen that was given to Germany vs Denmark and you wonder where the consistency is here.

I guess offside on Fullkrug right before the situation. But it doesn't look like Anthony Taylor even asked VAR. He basically said he saw the situation and it's not a pen. Which was the wrong decision imo. And a proof why the refereeing in the PL is garbage.

Expand full comment

There is no consistency in handball rule because people can’t agree what constitutes “natural position” players keep their hands in different situations.

Cucurella’s was in natural position and he was bringing it towards his body to make himself smaller.

Neither should’ve been a pen.

Expand full comment

The thing is Cucurella's arm was still quite away from his body.

In the PL that would have been called a pen all day long.

Expand full comment

I absolutely would’ve hated that call going against my team at any level, let alone QF

Expand full comment

I just hate how they made the pen rule so complicated these days.

It was all about how deliberate it was back in the days.

Which is why I agree with you. Now it's all about how positionaly natural one is and no one has a clue what this actually means these days.

Spain so lucky that Pedri got injured. His replacement Olmo is the man of the match.

Re the story we're after a German player, I'd be super happy with Kimmich, Musiala and Wirtz. I hope the mysterious player is one of the three. I don't think any other German player is worth it.

Supporting Spain is like supporting Arsenal 😂😂. You just know they have the quality but you're not sure if they'll pass the test. Cucurella is clearly struggling with the tall forwards but the coach is bling to this

Well they won tonight, so I am liking your analogy. Maybe this is us next season. 😉

Kimmich is a superstar.

If Havertz could finish, he'd be the best CF in the world.

Expand full comment

I think it's our biggest dilemma. He's not a CF by a country mile.

We really need to buy an actual goal scoring CF.

He would be a great foil to partner a CF though.

Expand full comment

For me, Haverts best position is the one Odeegard has now. He'd be excellent there. He will never play there for us. Every other position will be makeshift and he won't be at his best there

Expand full comment

Where in the world has he played there? It's just fantasy. Havertz useful position is striker. Any other position is a waste of space. Every manager he has played for in the past four years realises this fact including the national team.

Expand full comment

Haverts broke through as a floating attacking midfielder usually cutting in from the left.

In his last season at Bayer, he played the Nkunku at RBL role and scored alot of goals. Then he went to Chelsea who didn't use attacking midfielders at the time and that's where his problems started.

They played him CM, both wings and then eventually settled for CF. All underwhelming.

Even when he started floating for Germany today in the RAM areas, he was much better.

Expand full comment

If you treat ball like hot potato, you can't play attacking midfield.

Expand full comment

Atleast he's top 5 now

Expand full comment

Sane subbed at half-time is all you need to know.

Expand full comment

Haverts not running enough or doing enough tactical things that only the coach understands today I guess. Why do they have to bring Fullkrug on? Lol.

Expand full comment

Yeah, and Morata is why Spain are ahead right?

Expand full comment

Are you seeing a real striker in Fullkrug terrorise Spain??

Expand full comment

Wow, he's a real menace alright...

Expand full comment

Morata is the weak link in this Spain side. Can't control, can't pass.

Expand full comment

Musiala is in every way a superior player to Sane.
