I noticed something about Martinelli, most of his goals for us are when he's been played as a striker or allowed to drift centrally rather than holding the width, he has that killer instinct, movement and finishing you just can't coach
Arteta de Roche on Arteta and his phases of season -
"Arteta knew this, with the scheduling of matches a particular area of interest. In a club interview in the summer, he said: “Sequences of matches, I always look at the type of opponent we’re going to play; what kind of formation, what kind of managers, can we have some consistency over a few weeks?"
I have been refreshing this page. I have gone over to Arseblog several times. I have looked at all the usual Arsenal channels on YouTube. Everything is just bone dry.
It would be a lot more lively here if any of us watched female side of Arsenal, many gooners want Eidevall fired, he doesn't have what it takes to lead us to glory according to my teenager niece.
I also follow the Arsenal ladies. That Eidevall dude has seriously underachieved. I don't know any other club that has put as much into the women side of the game as Arsenal, but the output hasn't matched the outlay at all!
Semantics really but I viewed these opening 7 games as Phase 1. That contained the 3 away games at Villa, Spurs and Man City and ended with this interlull. Can anything shorter than 7 games really be considered a phase?
And we have got through it with aplomb with 2 disgraceful sendings off and a loss of key players. We are in the slightly breaking away top 3.
So it bodes well for Phase 2 (lol) with more available players and hopefully with 11 in our team at all times
I’m full of optimism for the Rice/ Merino axis of power, too. That’s not being disrespectful to Partey, I just think Rice is at his best at 6 and Merino will give us real balance on the left.
Feel that we will need some meaningful contributions from Jesus and Sterling with those tough fixtures coming up, particularly if Saka is not able to play every game!
Pedro, for two seasons you’ve hyped a scrub like Fabio Viera while taking shots at a bonafide baller like Partey. All good, we will revisit these comments of yours come end of season

Martinelli with a calf strain now too.... These breaks are just brutal. Players dropping like flies.
I so fucking hate international breaks.

Tell me about it. What a drag. Can't wait for Saturday to come and football to resume.
Same with the love Pedro had with Vieira, Generational loved him despite the obvious weaknesses everyone was seeing.
All the noise Pedro is making about Partey mostly means he is totally out of favour with Generational(supreme leader has inside sauces).
The only thing keeping him there is he is still superior to the other options.
Has anyone got any info on Saka’s injury? I’ve been away and haven’t heard or had the chance to read anything on it. 🤙🏾
time for Sterling to show why we signed him next week
Haven't seen a thing there.

It takes time to adapt to EPL especially away games. Merino will Not displace Partey in the team soon but maybe later.
Unless Partey gets injured, Rice is more likely to be displaced by Merino
I agree Sid - he has missed the whole preseason as well as the competitive matches to date
I gather he’s a beast in training but going all out in a competitive match is different. Expect a phase in for next 4 or 5 games.
Raya with a clean sheet and Merino playing for 30 mins sounds like good news to me!
It was great to read about Gabriel’s MotM award for Brazil a few days ago too, as well as Trossard’s goal and assist contribution.

Neve seen a player flatter to deceive so much like FV! Waiting for him to realise those much vaunted potentials is akin to waiting for Godot!
Article also read. Now back to reading boring legal documents.
First! Our position come end of the season!
