We added defensive players but so far the best defense trophy is elusive. You dont have to be Manager of the Generation to know that opponents will think twice against attacking if you have lethal attackers.

Arsenal v Liverpool drew but City paying the refs to deny Arsenal (who are 5 points behind) a victory while apparently helping Liverpool (who are a point behind) 😂😂 make it make sense because City must be dense to help their closest rivals innit? Lol.

The refereeing we are seeing now, which some are suddenly complaining about was ten times worse under Arsène Wenger. The same guy whom so many of you here mocked. The latter day Wenger will do a better job than arteta that I'm seeing now. Take it or leave it, var has levelled the ground a bit and our finances has greatly improved but all the gains has been channeled towards defensive players. Our record purchase is a defensive player. We were better last season. Four attacking players sold, only one was brought in, in the shape of Raheem. The officiating last season wasn't better than this season. The only difference is we are worse in terms of squad. I said it last season that Nelson is better than Martineli and I still stand by that.

The players are in the red. Arteta knows it, thats why they are asked to park the bus, to conserve the little they have.

I thought Pedro used to write about red zone under wenger and emery. Saliba and gabriel played all premier league games last season, yet Arteta felt they will repeat this season. Same with Rice, saka. Parety is doing god but playing all 10 games bothers me considering we all know his record under us.

Jesus is a good player. I do believe that. But the next time I see him doing that upset exasperated face I’m going do one

It’s reached Giroud levels of frustration where he used to miss so many half chances and do that surprised/disappointed look. Put that energy on burying a few of those chances and spare us the shocked disappointed face because it drives me mad seeing it every week

Giroud is ten times better than Jesus. Don't insult the guys. He's just not quick. He is good at what he does and sometimes best in some aspects of the game like heading.

If yoy believe Jesus is a good player, then I have an airport to sell you.

Ahem you know yourselves.

I’m talking about all the TP5 slanderers here.

Put some respect on the man’s name.

Arteta literally set the man up for failure and he played with the heart of a lion.

What a player. Take a Bow Thomas.

Well done silencing the haters

Partey on Diaz looked a mismatch on paper but aside one play Partey came out on top for sure.

He’s been more than solid all season so the fact some people shit on him is beyond ridiculous.

Some of the same folks who foam at the mouth at the slightest Arteta criticism.

So true.

The hate has been so outrageous

5 points of the top of the table and we are tied with Villa and 2 points above Brighton and Forest in 7th place. Not where I want to see my club, eagerly waiting for changes, table wise and management wise.

So Taylor called a foul on Kiwior for climbing over Szaboszlai while not a single Pool player appealed for it.

Kinda says it all doesn’t it.

Via HarrySymeou:

“Mikel Arteta has just told me he made the decision ‘last night’ to start Timber & Saka - that’s how late the decision was made. And he confirmed that after further tests, Riccardo Calafiori will be ‘out for weeks”

It was fairly obvious we wouldn’t have as easy a ride injury wise as we did last season, but this is worse than the worst predictions

Expand full comment

Injury is unpredictable. Unlike some experts here who will predict which player will be injured and when, most of our injuries has been to players who don't normally get injured. But partey whom many predicted and some even pray and wish should be injured is still here dishing out the humble pie. ESR also is yet to be injured as per their prediction. Injury is part of the round leather game. Every wise manager prepare for it by trusting all his squad players and giving them play-time especially when the regulars are available.

We are one injury away from crises if Rice gets injured. He is the best player at Arsenal alongside Saka and Ode. My belief is we need to be very careful against the new style full back. Saw it immediately in the 1st minute. There is no point having outlets if the turn back around and recycle . I spoke to a league ref and told him - tinkering with rules is ruining everything. It’s not as much fun anymore. PGMOL and the rule makers have basically taken a size 11 muddy wellington boot and stepped into the most beautiful cake you can make. I’m so upset by this stuff. The last time I looked it was a contact sport” yes he made contact there so that’s why it’s a foul “ - eh ? Awful awful state of affairs and that goes for all teams.

Rice has been AVERAGE at best this season. Our best players this season are saka, Raya, saliba, Gabriel and partey.

Rice been a bit below his usual standards this season, best midfielder currently is Partey, looks very sharp

We sat back coz our entire backline was a makeshift after Timber and Gabi got substituted

This is turning out to be a very difficult season for us.

Too many injuries

Too many red cards

Too many suspensions

This has cost us a lot of points dropped and also games which we could/should have won this season.

Hopefully Odegaard will return in the next couple of games. My guess is that Saka and Timber

were struggling with lack of match fitness towards end of game and that is a short term problem.

Obviously Calafiori and now Gabriel is a matter of some concern.

Our injuries at the back were kind of predictable.

Tomi out before we’d got on the plane to the States for pre-season, and has broken down again since.

Zinchenko with another calf injury already, but the fact he’s been given the cold shoulder for Lewis-Skelly in both of our last 2 fixtures, suggests he’s in the dog house.

We’ve likely had to play Timber much more than we’d have liked as a result, after returning from an ACL injury.

White had to play against City with an injury, that he then aggravated.

No qualms about Saliba’s red, but we could have done without it.

Calafiori has significant injury history, and moving him to a more physically demanding role of left back…

Always carried some accumulative risk considering the other injury prone defenders in our books…

Not so much an argument for the quality of Kiwior, who’s still a decent enough squad player..

But thank fuck we didn’t sell him, we didn’t need him until February last season, but when we did need him, he played 8 consecutive games, and during that run, we had no other senior defenders on the bench…

We’ve also still got Tierney contracted until 2026, but there’s been no sign of him since the Euro’s..

Makes me really wonder if Zinchenko and Jesus are not trusted as starters, what did Arteta see in them in 2022 when he splurged £75mill on them? Their value has plummeted since the beginning of the season and will leave for a song and a dance.

Disappointed. Martinelli doesn’t even do byline anymore. Gets it- turns around. For a 1 st team player at one if the bigger at clubs- to not take the ball with him on after the first touch is woefully unacceptable. This lead to the transition and goal. What was wrong with the header into Havertz for the goal. Pool turns around and bends over- eh ? It’s not the game I watched 30 /40 yard ago for sure. Gutted. It’s brain damage - thank god I don’t really go anymore. As soon as my mate stops paying for my ST-I’m done. Try and not get upset about it. Take what you can from any enjoyment or you will go potty.

Martinelli is officially crap, a waste of a place in the teamm brings nothing to the table, and his finishing is pisspoor
