Isn’t Villa’s forward line scary? Rashford, Watkins, Asensio, Malen, Bailey, McGinn, Rogers. Ohhh! 3 Strikers against Zero of Arsenal

City humbled hard. pool dropped points , good day!

Injuries can not be used an excuse for Saturday. We need to beat West Ham. Period. This is MUST WIN!! They are in 16th place FFS. A relegation battling team.

This is where Arteta earns his 16m a season.

Pool are 8 points clear having played 1 game more. Our game in hand will be caught up in mid March against Chelsea. Between now and April 2nd I predict Liverpool will win 3 and draw 1.

I don’t dare predict that we will win all 5 games in the same period because I’m not that confident, but if pool only draw 1 of those 4 games, we’d have to do no worse than win 4 and draw 1 to come out of it reasonably pleased. That would leave us 5 points behind them on the same number of games

A less likely but highly optimistic scenario (don’t, it’s the hope that kills you), is pool lose to city, draw with Newcastle and win the other 2 games below. Meanwhile we win 4 and lose 1. This would leave us 3 points behind them on the same number of games.

Liverpool

Sunday 23rd Feb city

Sunday 26 Feb Newcastle

Saturday 08 Mar Southampton

Wednesday 02 Apr Everton

Arsenal

Saturday 22nd Feb West Ham

Wednesday 26 Feb Forest

Sunday 09th Mar Man U

Sunday 16th Mar Chelsea

Tuesday 1st Apr Fulham

Irrespective of the hypotheticals, the only thing in the universe that should matter to Arsenal FC this weekend is finding a result and continuing to learn how to play better without our established attackers. Then we turn the screw and see if Liverpool buckle against city

There is something about Emery's teams and how they are always such a problem for the big teams. Probably just didn't fully work at Arsenal, but with Valencia, Sevilla, Villarreal, Villa, he's always been a thorn for the big clubs.

He's totally got that giant killer skill on point, he knows how to get points off of the top clubs and he's done it so consistently over the course of his career, that it's certain he knows something most managers don't.

He doesn't even defend blindly or go for long balls per se. He goes toe to toe with them and so often he comes away with a good result.

Don't ever change Don Unai.

Robin Van Persie is on the verge of being appointed as Feyenoord coach, per David Ornstein.

If we get drawn with Feyenoord, then the story lines are drawn, or rather when we get drawn with Feyenoord.

So I guess they draw balls or something now to see PSV or Feyenoord? One of these days I will figure out the new format. lol

Expand full comment

Not gonna lie I don’t have a damned clue how this is all working and I can’t be arsed yo look it up. I’m just guessing that after this format has been in place a bit longer it will naturally make sense to me lol

Let me explain,

It is Arsenal or Inter Vs Feynoord or PSV. And the winner play each other.

The other teams on our side are

Atletico or Leverkusen vs Bayern or Real madrid

Basically if we beat our next opponent (one of these dutch teams), we will get the winner of Inter or the other dutch team. And if we go past them it will be one of Bayern, Madrid, Leverkusen or Atletico in the SF.

Expand full comment

i dont think we get the winner of Inter and the other team. They are on the other side of the draw .. right ? So we cant meet them until we get to the final :) Arsenal and Inter in the final ... remember where you heard it first !

Expand full comment

Ok .. regardless, feels good to still be in it with a good chance to make final 8.

Thought we play the lower seed??

Expand full comment

I guess they draw.. so we could stull be on Madrid side .. on the bright side Pool could still draw PSG.

Of course the AFC way, would much rather avoid madrid for a while.

Bad week for Italian football. Probably means the PL will have 5 teams in the UCL next season. I will take the dutch teams over the italians though. Would rather Feynoord but we should be able to beat PSV too.

Inter will draw the other dutch side so expect them to qualify as well. They will be our QF opponents if we get through.

Pool drew, Man city got whooped. Great night.

was hoping for some injuries with both those teams but oh well. Fuck em

Expand full comment

Which ones?

pool obviously.

I honestly don't hope for injuries. I just want ours players and theirs to be available and go at it.

But if I have to hope, it is for their best players to lose form badly rather than injuries. Players go through hell with them and I don't wish that for them. Watch Wilshere's interviews and you wouldn't either.

The way teams have played AFC and been allowed to get away with it, for decades, deserves some Karma for those teams.

hey nothing too bad mr angel.

Maybe a sprained ankle, for Salah

honestly, that fool never gets hurt.

I bet he hardly practices, lots of massage, ice baths and so on.

Things that our team could use in a bad way versus Mikels siege mentality training sessions

Expand full comment

😂😂😂 I guess. I just have too many bad memories of great players at Arsenal not being what they could have been through injuries.

Wilshere, Diaby, Rosicky, Eduardo and even Santi at the end.

The thing I’m most worried about is Arteta seems to bottle it when we need to win. Has almost every season hes been here.

Always drop points at the time we desperately can’t drop points.

It’s a must win v West Ham.

true this

Not true. Unless you expected Arsenal to not drop ANY points in our our last 18 games from last season.

Doesn't Timber's brother play for Feyenoord? Could be some brother versus brother crime assuming Juventus don't dig this one out.. ohh off the post.

He is injured and is out the rest of the season. He is a really good player though, just like his brother.

we should get him

Not now though. He is out. I still think he needs a league that is a bit above to test himself.
