Arsenal vs PGMOL. its always going to be 11v12.

Pedro, you have a lot of clout, send something to BBC, the Athletic etc about this issue! The level of corruption is plain sight for all to see now. No hiding anything anymore

Boom here you go. Read this. Look at that cunt in a Newcastle shirt. That fucking Oliver.

Fuck it we should sign his twin brother up- Timber x2

Timber is such a baller, a warrior. Plays hurt, banged up, full speed always. I have never seen him drop levels in a game. Maybe after a hard foul but dude is a warrior! We need that toughness in the team. Mental toughness

In the cold light of day I’m revisiting my feelings post the game from yesterday

Haven’t changed my mind on any of it. There were pros and cons obviously and the officials were shocking, but the biggest takeaway was that for the first time this season we went a man down and actually played better.

Bournemouth and Brighton saw us totally collapse in the same boat. City we moved to pure survival and ultimately succumbed.

But yesterday the team went in at half time and asked themselves the question of if they were really willing to let the title slip away like this and the answer was a resounding no. Our Havertz’ finishing was woeful, Martinelli was dreadful throughout, but the team as a collective was fantastic second half. They were brave. They wanted it. They were willing to make it a last stand kind of half and got exactly what they deserved. A little surprising to see Arteta have us play more bravely with 10 than he has us playing with 12, but it was absolutely right. Great 3 points for the lads. Well done

Aside from the above fuck PGMOL jeeeeez

Expand full comment

Not sure we totally collapsed against any of those teams. Bournemouth are a great team, City the champions, and Brighton are always problematic.

10 men in the Premier League is tough

Expand full comment

We collapsed against Bournemouth and Brighton. Our levels dropped off a cliff and we retreated into a negative shell before buckling under pressure. We did the same against City tho we managed it much better and the buckle came on the 97th min so I’m not complaining about that one

As for Bournemouth and Brighton being really good - it’s pretty relative. We’re all on here saying city have been very poor this season yet they’re above both teams. Brighton are a mid table team. Bournemouth are decent but if spurs and Utd weren’t self destructing they’d also just be mid table.

Yes Pedro. Today though, we took the game to them. In the past, we would have imploded somehow.

An excerpt-- from a recap on a random Arsenal fansite-- sums it up succinctly:

"Lewis-Skelly knew what he was doing when he brought down Matt Doherty as the former Spurs man broke clear following an Arsenal corner. But it was hard to justify Oliver's violent conduct call - presuming that was what it was considering the foul happened just 10 yards outside the Wolves box. It looked cynical at worst.

Oliver evened things up in the second half, showing Joao Gomes his second yellow for a bad foul on Jurrien Timber.

And shortly afterwards Caliafiori slammed home from the edge of the box to send the visiting Gooners wild."

"Michael Oliver, it's all about you," sang both sets of fans."

Sang-- both sets of fans...

Great tweet Pedro, if they are still tweets on X that is. Time for the club to take action on this refereeing, it is blatant, clear and obvious, they have enough evidence.

Oliver seems to have some issue with Arsenal, who knows what it is, he does seem to have a thing going on with City, and the midweek trips to referee in the Middle East ,have read some in the game see Arsenal at the very forefront of the so called red cartel in gunning for City resulting in the current court case. Whatever it is, he shouldn’t be refereeing our games, though we have City coming up, please tell me he won’t be reffing that game?

Pedro,

Arteta has bumbled into the fact that both MLS and Ethan are excellent players that can hold their own.

Had we not had so many injuries, they would not have been playing this much.

But now that they have the minutes, they're truly showing that they're levels ahead of some of the more experienced players.

Our academy has really made huge strides in getting such high quality players in the first place.

We must ensure that this conveyor belt carries on and not make the mistake Cheaty did by selling young players without thinking about a succession plan for the first team.

Expand full comment

He put them in the squad instead of loaning them. Not sure how that is bumbling. They're both babies. How much earlier could he possibly have put them in?

Expand full comment

It's an interesting dilemma.

His hand has been forced due to the many injuries that the team has sustained.

Arteta has said that he wanted to ease them in.

His inability to rotate until now has been damning.

But somehow the footballing gods have made it so that these 2 prodigees get to play sooner than he would have wanted.

The mad part is that we have 2 kids showing maturity beyond what has anyone expected.

Maybe bumbling is a strong word. But the truth is, our season is being saved by 2 players who are just top notch.

The crazy part is: what ceiling do they have if they can play so well at such a young age?

These are exciting times!!!!

Expand full comment

Yeah. It's not bumbling if you have them in the squad and tell the world before the season they're there because they're amazing.

Kids almost always get their breaks because of injuries, sales, or unforseen circumstances.

Missed the game to enjoy some bloody good weather but I kept an eye on the game via Arseblog live.

The moment I saw the livid reaction of the live blogger, I just knew we were once again screwed by PGMOL. And when he recapped the replay that there were no studs up as bleeted by VAR, it was clear that we were in for another stich up.

Thankfully Wolves were dumb enough to get themselves a second yellow and get a red card.

What this shows is that teams really think they have a green card to foul us repeatedly and get away with it.

Anyway, thank the footballing gods that Calafiori scored and gave us the 3 pts to keep breathing down 'pools' necks.

I am so tired of these low grade narratives.

Are we bloody Bolton Wanderers under Sam Allardyce where Kevin Nolan or Doyle put in a “shift” and “battled” all night?

Get outta here with that nonsense.

This is the home of Henry, Wright and even, as much as I hate to say it, that snake Van Persie.

Lethal bloody finishers who we rated according to the quality and number of their goals not fcuking how much of a shift they put in.

Freaking low level mentality we have amongst some here. Go root for Bolton and let those with high standards for the Arsenal keep hope alive .

I can remember two peach perfect crosses Trossard put on a plate for that tugboat and he still couldn’t shake the net. Guys like that cost you matches and titles.

Must do better.

He’s just not good enough.

Again Fcuk the shift .. put the fcuking ball in the NET!

Expand full comment

This is the problem, you aren't reading anything. Instead you are insulting people.

Everyone knows we need better than Havertz. He has had some games where the finishing has been absolutely abysmal like the chance he had in the first half.

But we appreciate players that work their asses off and contribute. Ruthlessness has never been Havertz's game. He has scored 14/31 though. That might not be a top player but that is one who contributes.

And when the opportunity arises to get a better forward we will get one.

Effort matters even when you have all the talent in the world. That is why in the end I and a lot of fans wanted Ozil out.

Sighs.

Who insulted you? You’re all in your feelings today? You’re the one throwing insults. Simple playful banter and you’re all in some kinda weird feminine energy space ..: Relax dude it ain’t that serious. My point is simply I’m not flowing with the he put a shift in narrative … not fcuking good enough.

Dunno who defended Ozil. Prolly one of the worst signings ever. Anyone who defended him just needs to watch Odegaard or KDB and see the output of true number tens … Yes Ode has to work on his finishing but I’d take him any day over Ozil

Expand full comment

Alright fine. I apologize for calling you an idiot. You just told me to Gtfo

No one is saying we don't need better. Todays miss, along with the misses against United and Newcastle are poor. And it isn't good enough. We need a striker that doesn't miss sitters as frequently.

But take these games out and you will see that he has been our 2nd best attacker behind Saka through out the season. That is why we afford him grace. He has scored in games we have won this season including in some important UCL games.

If Martinelli and Trossard played well and he was the only one letting us down, I would say we just need him out. But he is less of a problem than those two. The reason we also keep taking about these missed chances from Havertz is because there is nothing else being created from these wide players. Trossard apart from that cross Havertz missed, he was diabolical. Martinelli was the same. Havertz actually played well enough in general play. he just was so crap in front of goal. That is the point everyone is making. No that he is going to be the one to lead us to the promised land.

Expand full comment

Also Trossard was not diabolical. He had a few loose touches but he put two crosses on a plate for Havertz. Come on men I know you wanna defend the lad but this isn’t Sunday league. You don’t get a pass because you hustled. Any donkey can do that. We need quality and if he had just barely marginal quality in front of net he would have easily bagged a hat trick.

Sorry his performance in my opinion is indefensible for the levels we are looking for

Expand full comment

Trossard was really bad bro. He spammed shit crosses that never reached the target, held on to the ball way too long, tried to shield it when a simple pass would do, tried some hollywood passes too. He was crap. A different type of crap to Martinelli but crap all the same.

Expand full comment

Okay I didn’t watch most of the second half but I thought he was more than adequate in the first and put two crosses that just had to be finished.

Don’t remember who took the free kick that Havertz also missed from point blank in the second half.

Those misses cost you championships in such a tight race

The goalpost shifting is unbelievable. In football, only one metric ultimately matters: the scoreboard! A striker is judged by his goals and assists. Anything outside of these is just papering over cracks. I remember how some on here were turning up their noses at Isak. I have a lot of time for Havertz, but he must do better. However, the club must help him by buying a proper striker.

Expand full comment

Was Havertz not a number ten in Germany? Not sure and more asking. He just doesn’t have the movement and lethal finishing of a striker. Just doesn’t have it. Thanks for trying but being a striker is mostly about instincts and technical ability to finish chances created. He just doesn’t have it for that position ….
