Merino has 11 goal contributions in his last 15 games I think. Saka missed a sitter as well so really should’ve been 12.

Once everyone is fit and we sign a new CF, genuine question is what to do about Merino because he’s an output monster.

Nonsense. It isn’t a revelation or some deep insight to suggest Ode has had a poor season. He has and we all know it.

But you’re the only asshole who feels the need to mention every misplaced pass he makes 50 times a day. It’s insufferable, you’re worse than Pierre.

This is the best Trossard got for the 2 goals today: "G/A has never been the problem. He is so mid in general play."

Peak hypocrisy. Expects a shower of praise for Tross’s goals against a relegated Ipswich, doesn’t say shit when Ode scores 2 and assists 1 vs PSV. If you were even remotely consistent, folk here wouldn’t think you’re a cunt.

Scoring the 1st and 3rd is exactly the same as scoring the 4th and 6th.

But you know, it's Tross so he doesn't get a single praise all season long.

While Ode had to play like shit for 6 months straight for some to say he's not doing well.

And I'm the hypocrite.

Should check on Hab's commentary on Trossard when Trossard had a couple of bad games before Ode came back. He's using way worse language than I do for Ode.

Couple of superfans over here. Nothing more to see.

Every one knows raps has a three inch hard on for Ode, but he’s managed to create a following for his Ode’s shit movement regardless of performance on a day, which today was good.

I lived in Suffolk for 15 years before moving to Norfolk..I lived in Ipswich.

I went to watch us play at Portman road on quite a few occasions and I sometimes could only get home end tickets…so cover up in disguise basically.

I can tell you now, they are exactly what you saw today-complete fucking tools. I sat there one day watching us as the majestic Bergkamp(finest player to ever wear our shirt…in my opinion)took the ball, switched play after spinning around like a ballet dancer, putting his tackler right on his arse.

The fella behind me stood up and said(in a broad Suffolk accent)..’what was that Bergkamp, you fucking wanking windmill’. I thought to myself..that there is one of the finest players to ever grace your shithole of a pitch. Later on Freddie scored and put the fuckers to bed. I didn’t cheer as I valued my fantastic good looks.Apparently I have a face only a mother could love….

Lolz that these twats couldn't appreciate one of THE finest player to have ever graced a football pitch.

I think we really showed their colours today.

They pressed us for all of 3 mins in the first half, as instructed by their coach, and then gave up.

A club with so little grace and finesse deserve to get back in their box which is the Championship league.

‘He’s a passenger but there’s no one to challenge his place in the starting 11 so he has to play’

If Ode was a passenger today then I really feel for your commute arrangements, Diss.

I’m guessing you sit next to a guy with Tourette’s syndrome.

Tom but Odegaard was quite poor today against a shit team

I expect him to be more effective in such games ….his misplaced passes and poor decision making was evident today

I disagree.

I’m not his biggest fan, he’s slow in a sprint and his shot lacks a bite, but he was in a middle of everything good we created today.

Goal.com agrees, and has him 7/10 rated.

Far cry from a passenger.

Yahoo sports has Ode highest rated Arsenal player today.

Not sure I agree but still.

Is it possible that some Arsenal fans are watching the game and not understanding what they are looking at?

I’d say yes.

I think he has too many touches, like over processing the play when a simple first time pass or through ball would be more effective

I wouldn’t say passenger but not as effective as he could be

You could really tell that Ethan isn't a winger, compared to Saka, the movement isn't just there...to me he's the successor to the Odegaard position

Ryan's avatar

I’ve been saying this too. Ethan is technically class but needs a lot of coaching on his movement off the ball

If you compare him with most wingers you wouldn’t see a problem, but Saka has the best off the ball of any right winger in world football and the contrast is stark when he’s not there

I don’t blame Ethan for not being a Saka clone at such a young age, but I do think focused coaching on this part of his game will unlock levels more to his potential. He is a bit static off the ball. Saka and the coaches need to directly walk through movement drills with him because if he’s fed in the sorts of dangerous positions Saka gets into he’s going to be scoring a hatful.

The other thing Saka does ridiculously well is play the offside trap. For a guy who is constantly drifting and driving off the ball he’s virtually never offside. And if he does make a run and doesn’t get found he gets back onside within 2 seconds max to immediately be available again. Ethan will benefit greatly from watching Saka

Not beyond the realm of possibility that in the not too distant future we could have half the team from the academy with Dowman coming through. And I believe there's supposed to be some freak defender on the books at 15

Nah, it's more like, if they are talented enough, he'll play them.

ESR also belongs there.

Saka and Marti although they had already made their breakthroughs under Emery, were given permanent places in the starting lineup.

Who was super good in those early Arteta years that didn't get chances to showcase their top talent?

In saying that I'd start him Wednesday if it meant a rest for Saka or Merino
