I agree but except in cases where a player had an absolutely incredible season, it makes sense that the player of the season is of the title-winning team. If we had lifted the PL trophy, then one of our players would have been selected as PotS.
My issue is that somehow Odegaard gets more recognition than Saka when Bukayo has been our best player hands down for 3 seasons in a row. But when our own fans keep voting Odegaard as our PotS, there's no wonder Saka's prestige is below that of Odegaard.
Our elite players at the moment are Saliba, Rice, Saka and Havertz.

On paper we've got Fabio and Nwaneri.
But we can always play Saka there and Jesus/Marti in his usual position.

I find it bizarre that in last night's list of players Foden was selected player of year. Five Arsenal and
Four Man City were listed in best team.
However, Saka probably our best player is not listed. Personally I would select him preference to
Foden. I am of course biased as an Arsenal supporter, but I am sure that Southgate has a similar
view when selecting England Team.

So many players played well last year in what was an incredible season.
