I still think FA Cup is a secondary tournament in today's world.

Arteta should have started Kiwior, Sterling, one of Tierney and Zinchenko. All four of the above have the quality to play Manure at home. If you don't start them in the FA Cup, when do you start them?

It's his team but he's got a strong opinion. If your name is in his "good" book, you'll play all the time. If it isn't, you're not getting any chances and your Arsenal career is over. There is hardly anything in-between.

It was a good opportunity to keep our squad members happy, give them a chance to impress, to get some form like how Jesus starred against Palace. And also keep our main players a bit fresher for the mighty games coming up.

Arteta played his best but as a result had a weak bench. Main players completed 120 minutes of football. Some got injured. All were frustrated. It all backfired. It couldn't have gone any worse.

Jesus, by all accounts, has suffered a ACL rupture. I assume he's done for the season.

We cannot be this cursed... Our need for another offensive player is low-key massive.

Always cute reading anyone thinking we'll sack the manager even if we finish out of top4, he's not going anywhere.

There's a large majority of the fan base that think we'll go back to battling relegation if he leaves, that's the pedestal he's been put on

The same people who would still have Wenger here, even if he hadn't won anything, are the ones ridiculing anyone who thinks Arteta should be moved on if we aspire to win anything.

For me it signals a mediocrity mindset. I could understand it if we were a mid-table club. But we are supposed to be banging on the door of elite level and it's not deluded for our fan base to want and expect some success.

That referee was hopelessly biased against United and there was no VAR to correct him

Havertz had a double handball, he missed it but Havetz couldn’t score from two yards

That Havertz penalty would have been easily reversed, had VAR been available but then Ode missed it.

It was really 12 vs 10, when you look at it critically…and we still flunked it

Calm down lads, there’s nothing that we could’ve done better.

None of it was our fault and definitely none of it was arteta’s. Which is also true of the copious other number of games we’ve bottled this season against inferior teams. If we got what we deserved we’d actually already have 3 trophies this season. Trust the process

Okay suggest a solution then.

We’re paying someone countless millions a year to suggest a solution to the problem of why we are a worse team this year than last. I suggest you be more concerned that he shows no sign of even recognizing that we have a problem

Unshackling our forwards would be a start and insisting on quicker transition from back to front to try and force the issue would be a pretty obvious start. And when we do sign players, to only go for ones in our weakest positions is blindingly obvious to everyone apart from one person and his followers evidently

Arteta is a disgrace of a coach and a very stubborn one at that with no tactical nous. Very naive starting line up and all. How do you lose to a man utd team that even went down to 10 men in your own turf at 65 minutes?

The season is over already. We will drop points against Spurs and or Villa and then people will come here and tell me that I should trust and support such a naive but stubborn coach that prioritized buying a useless midfielder cos he is Spanish instead of buying a striker. Someone that bought an injury plagued average LB from Italy and have chosen to play a very poor midfielder Havertz in attack.

We deserve this especially those of you that think that Arteta should be knighted and can do no wrong. He will be the end of us come May

Fans going to Kai's wife's Instagram to wish her a miscarriage.

Others saying how they going to come to their house and slaughter their baby.

I'm ashamed of some of us.

At the same time, I'm sure nobody is troubling our captain, leader who missed the penalty that would have won the game for us in normal time, won by Havertz, the abused guy. The same guy that created the best chance of the game for Trossard https://streamin.me/v/aef7cde4 .

Havertz is the guy getting all the pelters same way people were criticizing Saka when he wasn't winning games on his own. I remember what was being said about Saka. He doesn't care, he's thinking about going to City, he is missing so often, he's not the one.

The only one never ever flamed. Odegaard.

Again, someone else is at fault, regardless of the shit Odegaard's been producing for months. While Odegaard was injured, Havertz was one of our main players helping us win games. Havertz has whoscored ratings of >8.0 in 8 occasions this season and another gazillion of over 7.50s.

Odegaard has 0 ratings of over >8.0. But totally Havertz is the issue who's contributed A TON more than Odegaard. Let's flame him, let's point at him.

NO FINGERS POINTED AT ODEGAARD. EVER.

Meanwhile, Saka wasn't even in top 3 for Player of the season. The award won by Odegaard two times in a row. This is what we deserve. Keep being disrespectful to our best players while praising someone who is by far the most responsible for the lack of creativity and our attacks happening in snail pace.

He also missed the pen that would have won us the game in normal time, 70th minute. Won by Havertz. I don't want anyone abused, that's not the point. Fans have a blind love towards him, something no other Arsenal player can have the joy to possess. It's unfair, as I said, other players deserve it way more than he does.

In the last 12 months Kai has been way more clutch than Ode for example. And Saka as well in his whole Arsenal career. But they can't have the luxury of never being at fault. Nope. Only one player can.

Everyone is at fault today. Odegaard also missed a pen. And I don't agree with scape goating Kai when he is our top scorer and other attackers are doing much worse through the entire season. He had a hellish week.

But you are never objective because you are so married to your opinion. You can't even see how full of shit you are sometimes.

I don't think anyone can point to the owners ladk of funds made available in the last 5 years, he's been backed absolutely well.

Again look at our style of play, look at how slow and ultra cautious we play, not sure that's down to anybody bar the manager

Expand full comment

These players were good enough and he doesn’t win with them. Why all the excuses, man. our forwards are all getting worse apart from Saka and our attacking player has devolved into set piece FC to get us this far otherwise we’d be a further 8 points back.

Everything about our situation screams Arteta is a central part of our attacking problem.

Expand full comment

Good enough?

They were relying on Mikel actually getting the best out of them. That is why they looked as good as they did. Plus Saka and Odegaard were making things happen from the right. Saka is injured and Odegaard is out of form and it has all come crashing down

Trossard was great as a sub becasue he scored goals by taking chances that fall for him in the box. No Saka means there are no chances there anymore. His general play has always been mid.

Martinelli has fallen off a cliff this last year. He looks like a shadow of himself. May be mikel has been a bad coach but when you are barely beating anyone when you have space, you have to look at yourself.

Jesus started well with us. But his injuries and loss of form meant that this is what he is now. He was on the way to being a good signing before he turned in to this.

Kai is good when everyone else is good around him. And he is clearly a confidence player. Those misses are unforgivable.

Even at their best these players didn't win us the league. how are they good enough? We have 1 top class attacker in Saka. The rest haven't done enough. We need more.

‘They were relying on Mikel getting the best out of them’

Yes. I mean that’s literally the central, foundational job description of a manager role. So you admit the last two years he was getting the best out of his players and he’s not anymore - and yet Arteta is not the problem? And it’s not like it’s one forward it’s literally all our offensive players aside from Saka who went off a cliff this season.

There’s one common denominator. A manager not getting the best out of them.

‘Even at their best these players didn’t win us the league.’ Yeah because city were supposedly unstoppable. City have now collapsed (not far behind us btw) and we’re further off the title than ever. Go figure.

Bruh we spent 70m last summer( 90 if you consider Raya as a last summer signing). And Sterling on loan.

Last year we lacked spark and difference makers. That was highlighted in that Bayern game.

50 to 70m gets you one good attacker these days. We already had needs in midfield and defense. And we spent that in our entire transfer window.

That isn't good coin. That is pitiful.

Ditto Soares

NO back up to Saka, Ode for years. Now we are paying the price.

This guy thinks players are like machines.

He himself was a crock, POS player

Im sure there are more, but those come to mind right away.

We have needed Striker, CAM, LW, RW for a long time. all atackers

Expand full comment

Okay this is my answer.

Last year, We finished the season with Ben White, Gabriel, Saliba, Zinchenko and Kiwior. (5 defenders). A lot of fans were saying Zinchenko isn't good enough. MLS's emergence has added an option but we needed one so as to not to find ourselves in that same position.

I get the point about ESR and him not being enough chances, that is a fair criticism. But he was injury prone and the offer was too good to turn down.

The Merino signing might have been a mistake but we needed an 8 regardless knowing Havertz moved upfront.

Sterling was never his choice. If he was he would be playing all the time when our players are stinking out the joint.

If you don't spend big when you reach 89 points, When are you going to?

I am not absolving him of eerything. He has a part to play. But the lack of funds to actually get difference makers in attack last summer and so far this January aren't on him.

Expand full comment

Err why are timber and Tomiyasu not on your list of defenders we already had. We also have Tierney, not that I wanted us to keep him, but he’s still here now…

NOBODY apart from Mikel thought we needed a LB as a high priority in the summer and he was wrong to a tune of 50m on that.

Meanwhile he tried to spend 20 odd million on another Spanish backup keeper.

The only forward we ever bid for was sesko and since he said no apparently there were zero other forwards in the world we could’ve gone for. GALATASARAY managed to get Osimhen on loan but we couldn’t find anyway. You couldn’t make it up

Habesha we finds older players from EPL teams he knows about or coached. He has an aura (false) of rehabilitating players. Hence Kai. Kai has fucked us up so much, and I actually like the guy. He played TP as RB to fit Kai in midfield which did not work at all, which is what he was bought for. TP went out injured most of the season. Failed. He then became our striker, no more than one goal a game. We got goals from all over so Kai was given a pass. Now he is the main man, no need for striker last summer. Big mistake. Kai cannot hit the barn door. He has these grand ideas, based on his own ego and when it does not work, he tries so hard to make it work. Losing Xhaka was something we all wanted but Xhaka did so well his last season. Merino aint Xhaka. Nowhere close and Xhaka was just as combative. Much better passer. He has had funds, almost 800 M on the wrong set up, players, and style of play. He took a much better attacking team 22-23 and wanted to make us something else altogether. Some sort of utlitarian team. It aint working with him. Bar Jover, we would be in serious trouble. I bet Jover would make a much better coach than him. Arteta is as dry as they come man.
