"Ode is an exceptionally fine player. The first central player we’ve had since cesc with such an obvious and integral contribution"

I mean Odegaard is a very good player and is very integral to our team but your last block, comparison, not really necessary.

We've had Carzola and Ozil as well after Cesc. Where do you rank them in terms of obvious team contributions? Below Ode?

I think we should just enjoy certain players without feeling the need to overhype unnecessarily though sometimes it may seem very difficult given euphoria 😀😀

Ozil played well for a couple of seasons and was a total burden the rest. Ode is a far more rounded player who contributes considerably more to the team vs Ozil

Santi was great but not as important as Ode.

Aside from the obvious attacking and create prowess, Ode has some of the best pressing contributions in Europe going back years now.

Yes this is unfair, it’s like trying to rank blowjobs between Ciro and Mystic’s mums, we should just enjoy them without unnecessary comparisons.

Expand full comment

Heard it through the grapevine-- that Mystic's are pretty good too.

But Ciro's just suck.

Haven’t watched him play at all so maybe the eye test tells a different story, but Nico Williams only has 1 goal and 2 assists in the league so far this season. His numbers in his career to far look more Martinelli than Saka

But I’m not watching him so don’t know how fair that is

Ode is a fabulous player

I was thinking first half we were playing around him too much. Give him the ball and shit happens because he can thread the needle and with Saka and Havertz there he’s got runners for days

Literally 2 seconds later Saka passes to him and he plays that disgusting lofted through ball to complete the one two before Saka squares for trossard to score

Ode is an exceptionally fine player. The first central player we’ve had since cesc with such an obvious and integral contribution

I am here for the comments a great win today let's go with a pool city draw tomorrow to make our weekend

draw would be best with some injuries and red cards ;)

I am going to double down on my love for Partey.

Arteta deliberately gave Partey a whole year to recuperate last season to ensure a resurgence in that killer MF ability that he excels in.

And we are reaping the rewards for for this decision.

Expect another blinder from Thomas vs Manure!!

Expand full comment

Im gathering Thomas has a muscular problem no? Hopefully it's nothing serious cos we absolutely need him

Bukayo Saka, Odegaard, Rice, Saliba and Gabriel are our most important players.

Bukayo Saka is improving again this season. The performances are ridiculous. 5 goals and 10 asissts already. He is a superstar. As soon as we win big things the worldclass shouts will start from rivals.

Martin Odegaard makes us tick. It is clear for everyone now. We are slicing through teams now with him available.

Expand full comment

Adding Partey as DB has reminded that is 6 players - more than half the team. Pretty good when you take into account Timber’s form and Nwaneris rising star

Expand full comment

I would have him in there but he is never fit. Raya, him and our fullbacks like White, Timber, Calafiori are in that 2nd tier category for me.

Expand full comment

Timber will be in that first category, mark my words.

His ACL was a freak occurrence.

He is no crock.

He's owning Benny's RB when he was slotted for LB.

That's talent for you.

Expand full comment

Yeah he might be. I also think Raya is very close to that category.

Expand full comment

I would add Partey to your list.

When he's fit and on fire he's unstoppable and irreplaceable.

His defence splitting passes are second to none.

Liverpool should put on their big boy pants cause we're coming.

Their easier fixtures are over while we're just starting ours and we're blowing teams away.

We conceded the 2nd goal from this ^

Right in front of Taylor. Looks to me like the cleanest tackle you'll ever see.

Expand full comment

The level is SO low, that tackle should be rewarded instead of punished with a simulation yellow shown.

Expand full comment

PGMOL hate us. So anything that may look like a foul, the whistle is blown.

What a bunch of wankers.

Expand full comment

Taylor is a shite referee but he’s probably one of the least worst of them and at very least I don’t believe he suffers from bias

Expand full comment

Your timing isn’t great, DB.

We were given two pens, of which either one could’ve easily been denied.

Westham were shown 4 yellows in 10 fouls , Arsenal 1 yellow on 13.

If the worst you can say about a ref, he gave a soft foul from a distance hardly anyone ever scores , then maybe count your blessings.

Auba, Emi, and Taylor the three reasons Arteta has a trophy in his Arsenal career.

Expand full comment

taylor makes mistakes - he was also the one who whistled our third goal against pool dead for no foul. what he does though is being soft throughout the game. he is definitely the most consistent of the refs. he lines giving fouls, giving yellow cards, giving pens. from my perspective he is by far the best we can get from PGMOL - not really good but mostly OK

Expand full comment

You mean he whistled the play dead before the goal went in don’t you ?

Expand full comment

yeah - kiwior outjumped a scouser (forgot who), ball came to kai, sent the ball over the keeper, post, jesus scored. I think he blew after kai managed to get the ball over their keeper. I wasn‘t to angry at the time because kai definitely fouled TAA at the goal line so it wouldn‘t have counted anyway but the foul taylor gave was no foul

Expand full comment

Fantastic result. Felt weirdly nervy at times despite the margin. It appeared Kiwior wasn't trusted by his teammates when we had possession.

Interesting that sky still haven't showed Rice's non foul on diving cunt Paqueta again that led to an admittedly fantastic free kick...

Expand full comment

Apparently Havertz has surpassed his Chelsea G/A output for Arsenal in 42 fewer games, which seems like a lot.

And there I was thinking his Chelsea numbers were as good as he could ever muster, or so I was told.

Expand full comment

Good win. Westham have been crap. Their manager is a fraud. Hope our players are okay. We need to keep the momentum going on Wednesday.

We’re now on 13 goals scored in our last 3 games. 3 wins on the bounce. Positivity and confidence restoring

We’re still defensively not as tight as last season but broadly speaking that is being off set now by the big midfield and attacking improvements

These scorelines are reflecting better performances. People kept making excuses about difficult fixtures and away games but we all know deep down, we simply didn’t play particularly well early this season. But the last 3 games we’ve finally started to look like a team that should be competing for titles again and the results have not coincidentally mirrored that closely

Next step it to maintain this level and try to tighten up the defense, then we’ll be purring

Does raptora have the integrity to admit he was wrong about Øde?

Expand full comment

Of course not.

He’ll take that opinion to his grave.

Expand full comment

Injured players, red cards, tough as fuck games.

All players are back, no red cards, easier set of games.

Odegaard, the difference maker.

Btw, we played well in every single game since the start of the season, probably minus Newcastle but I didn't watch that game.

Expand full comment

Not really. We’ve looked a whole step down this season vs second half of last up until the last 3 games…

Expand full comment

But we’d definitely do better with Eze 🤡

Expand full comment

He is, mate.

If you can't see it, then we really can't help you.

Come on. Have some pride and admit you were wrong.

Øde is central to our team.

We can all see it.

He's the heart of our team.

Expand full comment

From what I'm reading we've probably won all of our games with Odegaard in the team.

Expand full comment

Stay humble

Expand full comment

Sick it up buttercup

Have some humility

Expand full comment

That may or may not be the case, but what is irrefutable [and even you must admit it] is that the team has scored 14 goals in the last four games [incidentally four games in which he featured]. How many goals were scored in the four games before that?

Expand full comment

Hammers are shit. Steidten is a horrendous director. Lopetequi is bad. They spent a load of money to downgrade.

Arsenal with another top game. Players are back, no more red cards, an easier set of games, we're in London and we're winning with an absolute ease. On we go!

I wouldn’t be surprised if Ode had 100% pass completion today.

He was bloody majestic. Again

And he wasn’t even our best player (Saka)!
