What was the point in that 10 man recovery against wolves to find a result? What was the point of the huge second half against city? Why bother winning last ditch against Leicester if when kick off happened yesterday our team clearly was not very fussed about the result.
We really need to get out of this habit at losing too many times to physical but limited teams like West Ham and Newcastle, it is not a good luck for the supposed ambitions of this club. They need to get in players who will stop this
If it wasn’t for corner kicks in the first half of the season, we’d be 7th or 8th. We haven’t looked an offensive team at all in open play. We are boring slow
And predictable in our play. Just like Arteta was as a player.
Like I said earlier this week. We are too easy to plan for. Teams are going to negate us easily.
if you look at the numbers - we are from a defensive point of view where we basically should be. we are far off offensively. why?
first an foremost it‘s injuries. except for about 5 games this year we had to play without at least one of our 4 (ode, saka, gabby, kai) most forward players. right now we play with just ode who is a guy making OTHERS better as he is not the guy dribbling past 5 players or scoring 20 goals but if there‘s no chemistry that doesn‘t work. if by any reason we had been good offensively it would have been a miracle
now, don‘t get me wrong - injuries are part of the game and our player management may easily have contributed to those absences but whatever the reason for it - our struggle isn‘t weird by any means. take out salah, diaz, nunez and szobo/mcallister and pool would look like a pub team. vini, mbappe, rodrygo and bellingham out? would be fun to watch real getting relegated :)
my only hope is we somehow manage to get through the next 3 weeks, getting 7-9 points in epl and get past psv. then we may not have a striker but we have players on the wings and are able to sub them and get new guys in the games if needed
Arteta claims to be 'very, very angry' in his presser. Lol. Like Basil Fawlty berating himself to escape Sybil's beady-eyed wrath. Managers who talk like they are mere spectators who didn't have any input into the performance - it's an old PR trick. Nothing to do with me, guv.
Yes, this is the guy Pedro told us in his podcast a couple of weeks ago is one of the top three managers 'in the world'. Good grief, facepalm. Top three at what? Excuse making, responsibility avoiding? Future promises? Players signings? 'Load management' (Pedro's new one)?
Very clear what the problem was today. For the umpteenth time, and we are one of the worst teams going at this, we let an opponent score from their first decent chance. When Saka and co are present, fit and firing, we usually have enough to get back into the game and win, but when we are as limited as we are , we find it much harder to recover. All West Ham had to do was pack the box with their large defenders .
West Ham were shit, but we were worse.
And Merino doesn’t look, or move like a striker because guess what, he isn’t one , you can’t train to be an elite striker that quickly.
Still time to get something out of the season, but more realistic, making sure we make the CL , on today’s performance , that is not a given unless we get players back sharpish.
Arteta needs to learn lessons from this season, yes, there has been bad luck and biased refereeing, but there have been other issues as well, like trying to operate on too small a squad, and keeping players fit and available chief amongst them.
If I say my mind tonight, I'm getting binned forever by Pedro. I'll keep my truth to myself and watch this slow painful death that is as predictable as night and day.
I'm sure a lot of people are done repeating the blindingly obvious and getting insulted by a few who can't see that Arteta isn't fit for purpose. I'll just watch. Till they turn after they've felt as much pain as I'm feeling.
Built a team with one creator, no X-Factor or clinical finishers. Several players have played every minute of every game for 3-4 seasons and they all broken down.
Mikel has been good but he will always be Bruce Rioch. He is not our Arsene Wegner. The sooner you break out of your delusion Pedro, it will be less painful for you.
Brutally honest, with the MENTALITY and TACTICS that were on full display yesterday, while playing a must win game, it'd be a no hoper versus PSV
..

From a mentality perspective that’s just shocking
That’s down to the manager
Take away from today's game Arsenal had 20 shots on goal with 2 on target. 1 by Calafiori and 1 by Trossard.
Just say it.
We were shit.
I am still seething from today's performance.
Rashford 2 assists. Asensio 2 goals.
No one was available.
Powder dry FC
next season FC.
The injuries give Arteta a built in excuse for his failures.
that he caused by overplaying not rotating or buying a striker
If he spent this window to buy a striker, he’d have no excuse
he should not be manager if he looks for excuses for failure

I think you meant to say "get a coach who will stop it"
West ham wasn't even physical, say, compared with Stoke of the day

Well, dd he kick himself hard, literally, if tat very angry? But we certainly are...
Top 3 in the wage he earns. 😂

Who cares if he bins you? Pedro runs this place like a dictatorship regardless. No point holding back.

How we missed a player like kudus playing our attacking midfield
Would have even too obvious, or, would kill Saka... pick one
None were ever available… including him when he moved to west ham

And I am still waiting on your apology to Unai.
Excuse me but that's an insult to Bruce Rioch. Put some respect on that man's name he signed Dennis Bergkamp something Arteta could only dream of
True. Rioch signed Dennis whereas Mikel sold our boy ESR. They ain't the same.
Where are all the real fans today? No one to defend the Generational?
Arsenal fans sniff at osimhen but celebrating merino. Who bewitched you?
Did we play like a team that has a £110m player? And there are some that wants us to make him out captain.
