I don't think most football fans hate Arsenal, I'd say most are indifferent. With pundits, they all seem to love Arsenal and Arteta this season. Understandable, as they've had some good form for a few years now.
Do Arsenal have the stamina to win the title this season?
No. But of course, they'll make the champions league again.
I'm looking forward to seeing how the rest of the season develops for sure!
I’ve done so many sets and resets over Sterling but he displayed what I’ve been begging Edu and Arteta to give this squad and that’s that constant threat to run in behind.
Yes it’s Bolton, but he made them mad with his unpredictability and high energy. If he gets more comfortable and in his groove, with Odegaard pulling the strings and Saka on the other side … hmmm there will be hell to pay for other teams when they play Arsenal
I’m really hoping a fired up Newcastle crowd take it to City and put them to the sword. Of course, if they do, people will continue to spew the false narrative of “that’s how you play against City” and all the other shameless nonsense propaganda these fools keep spreading … anyway I just hope we get no more injuries and the likes of Odegaard and Tomi get healthy soon.
It’s a great time to be a Gooner and the best of yet to come
Obviously loads of positives especially regarding the score and kiddos
But aside from those, just wanna say Calafiori is smooth as butter on the ball jeeez
I called him a luxury cherry on the top signing in the summer. We didn’t need a LB at all. It’s literally our most stacked position in the squad
BUT his guy looks like he has everything. It’s a very small sample of games so far but he looks ready to be the undisputed best LB at the club imo. And aside from the quality and his confidence there’s something about the way he just glides past people with the ball so smoothly that makes me think this guy isn’t going to be a huge star
I really have been surprised over the past couple games how well Calafiori plays out from the back against major pressing, and he is much better at finding a teammate to pass to than I expected. Composed, obviously scans very well.
I think our scouts have done it again, as with Raya and Kai Havertz. It would have been hard to see all these qualities at inferior teams like Chelsea and Brentford, even an inferior league for Calafiori, but they got them all right.
Might even be true for Timber as well, I just want to see a few more games from him.
We have been able to buy players with great abilities for fair prices, give them to Arteta and his staff... and look how well they are incorporated and perform for us.
Really happy with our performance tonight. Yes Bolton are a Championship level team and it showed.
But these ate the teams you crush at our level.
And we did this with gusto.
I was really happy to see Nwaneri show case his ability with confidence.
MLS was also very good with some excellent passing around.
There we some hairy moments with some very stray passing, but overall we did well.
If I have to say one thing though, Jesus is a bit of a conundrum. As a striker, you would have expected him to have scored tonight, yet he didn't. He dithered a lot with the ball when something needed to be done. He does look like a player out of confidence atm.
I hope he can find his mojo as we do need him to be firing on all cylinders if we are to win something this season.
In regards to Jesus, you know how they say some players are always at the right place at the right time to score, he never is. Its not something you can teach but Kai does it very well. We do need a replacement for him though. Hope it happens in the Jan window
- on Jack Porter’s reaction to starting for Arsenal at 16-years-old:
Well, we told him yesterday and he was over the moon straight away. I think he spoke to his family. And yeah, they weren't prepared for that. It's a big step. It's a big occasion for them. And I think they were nervous about it. But I think he reacted really well.
- on Ethan Nwaneri scoring his first goals for the club:
On the second one, I was really happy for him because he scored. I'm very happy because you know, I know the reaction of his teammates if he wouldn't. So I think overall, again, I think he was really good.
- on David Raya’s injury and if he’s feature this weekend:
Nwaneri, Lewis-Skelly, Nichols, and Porter became the first players born after the Emirates Stadium was opened [in 2006] to start a competitive game for Arsenal there.
I enjoyed the win and was not surprisingly ecstatic with Nwaneri's performance, but my true highlights were watching Lewis-Skelly, Nichols, and Porter. All three debutants were so damned composed.
All the youngsters who played today will be over the moon and likely unable to sleep tonight, and I am so happy for them and the club and its fans who have been behind them - as well as the youth managers who have nurtured them. Up the Arsenal!

This isn’t a good look for Michael Oliver.

I honesty forgot that Zinny and Tomiyasu are arsenal players. How long have they been injured? I had completely forgotten we had them in our squad.
You must be an idiot then.

Whoever instructed Jorginho, to hold last defensive position during corners smokes weed.
Haha…he stops even trying to keep up about 1/3 into the run after he had a 5 yard advantage to start!

Good stuff from a neutral.
Goldbridge can be cool beans. He is so right in this case.
Fun fact about this weekend.
IF Newcastle beat city (unlikely but possible)
We win (probable)
Villa win (probable)
Chelsea win by 2( possible)
City would finish the weekend in 6th on the same number of games as the teams above
Liverpool also to win (probable)
If you bet a fiver on city to finish the weekend in 6th I wonder what odds you’d get on that.
It’s unlikely but definitely not impossible
This weekend we play Leicester. Obviously we need to be winning this game.
Doing so means we would definitely be taking points bs our big club rivals, whatever that looks like
Newcastle v city
Man U v spurs
Chelsea v Brighton
Meanwhile Liverpool will probably beat wolves and Villa will probably smash Ipswich. But we’ll see how things play out
Just need to win our game and see what damage is done to the others
Full match replay but in language I do not recognize.
