I wonder how many here is still banking on timber to help us have a successful season. Because as far as some people here are concerned, timber is the solution to all our problems. I said we should be cautious in expectation because the injury he had was a serious one that not many returns to their best after suffering from it

Did Havertz have 2 assists and a goal from a midfield start?

Losers and geniuses still complaining?

Just take the L and be happy for the team and the player.

Busy crying and whinging about Arteta.

You don't know shit about football. Move on with life.

I believed we liked Zubi a lot. I felt he faded into the background for our club when Rice came in.

I don't believe we've pursued him since the first attempt.

Most of what you'll hear and read is bedwetters looking for a reason to let loose, literally.

Arteta's bum chum strikes again. Yes we "ignored" Zubimendi once the reports came out he was "looking to stay in Spain" Now, when the Scousers have got him, very conveniently this prat says "don't believe we've pursued him since the first attempt!"Anything that might hint at an error by the club and this rat comes straight up the drainpipe to defend.... As much the purveyor of truth as Donald Trump. Foxtrot Oscar and find a site full of joke "fans"- maybe "Untold Arsenal" is still going for you little man.

Bossards technical abilities are outrageous. On par with the Santi's of the world. 2 footed genius

The best players don't always come with the biggest prize tags

Trossard has been a better signing for Arsenal, than say, ... Gabriel Jesus

Lol with a sprinkle of realism.

I think we had really good control of the game overall. Pegged them totally in their half during the first half. Scored 3 goals to show for it. That 2nd goal from Trossard was great ball control. And Jesus' goal was just excellent.

The 2nd half started really well which was rewarded with the good goal from Havertz.

My take from this is that we somehow still need more control in the middle of the park.

Despite our excellent defending, I felt that we lacked some control in the middle of the park where we lost the ball a few times there.

We really need someone who can step in Partey's shoes and add that extra level of control and incisive passes.

Relevo

🗞️ Zubimendi gives the go-ahead and his signing for Liverpool heats up.

◾️ If the agreement does not come, the English club could execute the 60 million clause.

Supposedly, Zubi agrees to join Liverpool.

And supposedly, he wanted to stay in Spain when we asked him to join us. And going by the rumors, we've been courting him for god knows how long... More than a year for sure.

What a bitch boy!

It would be better to stay away from these weird types of players 'because I'm afraid to leave my country". He clearly knows he's not good enough for us and wants to stay in Spain, but changes his mind when Liverpool comes knocking. He looks like a mentally weak player who won't last in PL football. There are far better players out there, and even Merino has been more influential and had a better season.

Why's Liverpool able to sign Zubumendi so easily [going off tabloid rumors] when we've spent so much time waiting for Merino

Why are we not going for zubimendi isn't he the superior player? Especially as we have been tracking him for 2 seasons

Been watching the Olympics. So not watching Arsenal's pre season friendlies.

Good result. The questions I pose are

1. Will Arsenal play Havertz in attack or midfield this season?

2. Arsenal will still recruit. If it is one additional player do you see us buying a centre forward or

midfield.

3. Some of the media suggest that Arsenal will send Nwaneri out on loan. Do you think that is

wise? Would it not be better to promote him into first team squad?

Post script that I’d add that what struck me tonight was that despite only being 17 Ethan had great upper body strength and incredible speed over short distances

Which is why we need to keep him and nurture him as his development is going to be too rapid to allow other coaches to be involved

Expand full comment

My thoughts

1 both but he’s more effective as CF

2 midfield will be priority as MA using Jesus/ Kai as main CF offering BUT could still be a winger signing

3 I sincerely hope Ethan is kept at the club and developed in the way Saka was

Personally, I believe Nwaneri should not go on loan unless he is guaranteed playing time each week, which of course is unrealistic [see, Martinez, Emiliano]. Dude is good enough to come off the bench and affect a game. His potential is amazing.

On a secondary matter why did we sell Smith-Rowe rather than Vieira who has frankly

done nothing in his entire career at Arenal. He is for me a powder-puff player.

Also Arsenal do need to offload Nketiah. He is not likely to improve. I appreciate that

Arsenal want a decent transfer fee, but his threshold in my view is not higher than

£25 million even if he is homegrown and a centre forward.

No top tier club is going to buy him and middle rank clubs will not pay more than the

fee that I am suggesting.

Because we were able to get much more money for ESR than we would have been able to get for Vieira.

Nketiah will be off loaded.

“Arteta on Timber: “He had a little discomfort in his foot the last few days. After the time he has been out, we did not want to take any risks.”

Arteta on Calafiori: "So much has happened to him in one week. He has come in to a new environment, a completely different methodology, different training and we are managing him. We want to do it slowly, to get him in the best possible way.”

Nwaneri's burst of speed before the pass to Saka was sublime. He and Lewis-Skelly are surely nailed on to the first team squad list.

Totally agree - Nwaneri definitely but not sure if LB is really the right position for MLS.

You can see them both if played in midfield being important impact subs this season
