Jamil: Bayern Munich fans are entitled and it's bad. Arsenal fans, don't be entitled. And, we're more likely to win a league title with Arteta than without him (Arteta has won 0 league titles but if my eyes were closed, I'd think Jamil was talking about Alex Ferguson). But even winning PL means fuck all.

Jamil, let's go back to Bayern.

Since 1997, Bayern has won 20 league titles in 27 years.

In contrast, they won 12 league titles in the previous 34 years (1963 to 1997).

Apart from the league titles, they've also won 3 Champions league trophies (out of 6) since 1997.

In short, 1997 to 2024 has been their most successful period as a football club.

But this is the same example you want to use as a 'cautionary tale' for fans' entitlement.

Your post has even ended up showing me why Arsenal fans should be more entitled.

I know you want to support Arteta, but please stop pushing narratives that insult people's intelligence.

How many managers in the PL currently have won the league? Guardiola and who else?

I like Arteta. And I really think he is capable of greatness. He is the only manager I have seen who can play like prime Mourinho and Prime Guardiola as situations dictate it.

But there comes a time when timing would be the problem. I want him to succeed but he may not do so here. By the end of next season, he has to deliver. If not, we will need to look for someone to take over the good things he has done and get us over the line. Because 4 heartbreaks in a matter of 5 seasons will be devastating.

We will probably lose our best players and we are back to square one like the old Wenger days. And however good a manger is, player quality matters too. This team without Saka, Saliba, Odegaard, Rice is top 4 material at best. We can also include Gabriel, Partey (when he is fit), Timber, White and Raya close to that category. But the first 4 are very important over the next 4 years. And to keep them we need to start winning starting with that Carabao cup.

Jamil

Before 1992, Manchester United had fewer league title than us.

If they had your mentality, they wouldn't have won 13 league titles in the next 20 years and surpassed us by 7.

And if they said winning the PL means fuck all, you won't see their logo 13 times in that picture while Arsenal appeared only 3 times.

I want to be nice, but you didn't run your post through rigorous logic.

Moron, he’s not saying winning the PL means fuck all. He’s saying fans feeling entitled to winning the PL means fuck all.

"*Again, my point with all of this, is saying we should be PL champions means fuck all.*"

Trophies attract more fans, sponsors, and money.

Trophies are used to rank how successful football clubs are.

Your point is absolute NONSENSE.

The arrogance again. Didn't people say this about Chelsea last season?

Stop being naive.

God, we need Jesus.

Our first half performance was frankly "piss poor", which was hardly surprising when you make eight outfield changes. They played like a bunch of strangers.

The one positive from this game is that Jesus had a very good second half and at long last

found his "shooting boots". Whether that was a one trick pony remains to be seen.

However, what is of concern is our recruitment this summer. Calafiori has been out injured

on three separate occasions this season. Merino is frankly no better than a bench player

and Sterling has failed to make the grade.

The fourth recruit Neto our so-called second string goalkeeper has yet to make an appearance and I want to focus on that decision. I made the case on several occasions at

the start of the season that his recruitment was a dreadful decision not least because he

is not qualified to play in Carabo Cup.

Now we learn that our second string goalkeeper raises concerns of the coaching staff about

his fitness and overall performance in training. That means that if Raya suffers injury as he

did earlier in the season we are resorting to using an 18 year old goalkeeper!! Indeed in

his absence we played Potter a 16 year old.

We have known for a long time that our goalkeeping recruitment has not been great. If we

are going to recruit in the January transfer window then the priority must be a second string

goalkeeper. Otherwise should something happen to Raya our season could implode.

The goals last night

They were incisive

We stretched the pitch and ran behind which allowed Odegaard to pass from deep

No slow crab football

We drew them out

More of this please

Also Jesus was magnificent

I never went in on all that “He is finished” talk. I prefer him wide where he can run

If he’s at 9 he tends to drop deep for the ball as Hes crowded out

When he’s wide he can run behind or dribble toward goal without having his back to goal

Suits him better

Those finishes were top drawer

"I can see Arteta winning the league more easily than I can see us winning it. If I had to choose."

I'm not certain what this means, are you arguing Arsenal are holding Arteta back from greatness because stadium jinxed and he has to leave before he wins league?

Arsenal are doing Arteta a favour by employing him at all, while you've convinced yourself top tier sports teams winning trophies is irrelevant, that's not how players and many fans feel.

Arteta needs to start winning competitions, that's what top clubs do which is what we are, or our best players will leave because they won't be impressed by stories about Clough.

Pathetic!

"Our best players will leave because... "

Arsenal is doing well and we cry over what hasn't happened. And may never happen.

Next opinion please.

Do you listen to yourself? Coming here to complain about a writer's contribution?

If you don't agree-- why piss on Jamil's effort?

Yes, I do listen to myself and I still find it remarkable that Jamil is arguing that we're holding Arteta back and if he wants to win trophies he needs to go elsewhere.

And that? Means you MUST crap on Jamil's opinion.

Do you not have any concern what AFC fans reading your schlock think? A guy makes an effort. And-- your retort is-- I'll be a dick, because, I (for some reason) always hate on Mikel Arteta, in public, on the internet?

This is not a vacuum.

Please, proceed.
