Adingra is an Arteta type of player because he can play everywhere in the attacking third.

I don't believe Brighton will sell him for as low as 30 million.

Are you his agent?

Get a winger on loan frm Bayern. Sane, Gnabry, Coman. Or get Chiesa on a loan to buy. Or go big and get Adingra.

Brahim Diaz is my dirty little secret though

with so little days left for teams to find a replacement, a loan might make more sense in the short term. I agree with your names. Sane for me. or Serge. Still love Serge

Edouard smashed the Scottish league and some people here were actually calling for him to be signed. He failed miserably at Palace though and is about to leave.. why they are getting Eddie. It feels like Eddie should go off in that team but I'm not so sure. I mean he's a good player but only the 3rd tier of clubs came for him in the PL and that says something.

30m GBP? That's a world class price. Edu should be considered for a statue. And of course I wish Eddie well. He's not just the level raiser we thought he could be.

People still saying we can't sell Reiss because of his salary, same people were screeching like emotional women the same thing about Nketiah salary.

Back then I said, the player will take a cut to go and play. Even Arsenal paying a small portion could be an option.

Anyway, unless we bring 2 forwards, I don't see any chance he goes. It's nothing to do with his salary at this point.

The bedwetters assured us that we’d never sell Eddie after his new contract… That’s close to being proven wrong.

Nelson apparently told Arsenal he wanted to leave, but so far no takers.

At this stage Nelson needs to leave for regular football, and Arsenal need to freshen up our attacking options.

But if there’s no takers, then Arteta certainly needs to start trusting Nelson a bit more.

Expand full comment

Yes The Notorious’ Bedwetters’ have a lot to answer for.

Expand full comment

We can't afford to sell Reiss Nelson. No way.

We need the body and the knowledge of our system. Not worth it to sell him for some small number. Definitely not to loan him.

Even if we buy a forward I think we need to keep him. He's going to play a lot more than Kiwior, for example.

Expand full comment

You look at our bench and wonder who's the attacker that can come in and impact games?

At the moment it's just Trossard, that's not good enough.

Expand full comment

I really rate Reiss. Given steady minutes, I believe he would show it. Negative cretins will slate him and its easy when the player only gets spotty minutes behind Saka. It's disingenuous.

Marko is not exactly an astute judge of talent lol. Really more the opposite.

Expand full comment

The body and knowledge of our system...the only knowledge he's got is how to sit on the bench and barely contribute when he comes on. He's basically useless.

The winter window seems more reserved for desperation situations, injuries etc. Now is the best time to get set for the season. Winter prices are sky high too

As our squad stands, this is our business so far:

Setford - Hein

But Arsenal apparently still want a more experienced home grown third choice.

Calafiori - Cedric

As our squad stands, that means Timber + Toni will play more on the right… But I still wouldn’t be surprised if Kiwior departed.

Lewis-Skelly - Elneny

Elneny has played 460 minutes across the last 2 seasons.. Lewis-Skelly has the added bonus of slotting in at left back.

Nwaneri - Smith Rowe

Smith Rowe has played less than 700 minutes across the last 2 seasons, Nwaneri hasn’t gone back with the under 21s, now looks to be with the first team permanently.

Unlikely to be made official until he turns 18 in March, when he’s expected to sign another extension.

Merino - Eddie?..

Havertz played north of 2,300 minutes in midfield last season, I’d expect Merino to take those minutes, and Havertz to take more minutes up front.

Vieira - ?….

Expand full comment

Nelson on 120k pw and attracts no takers, not even last minute rumours...

He couldn't really change a game (yeah, once and gave him a big , fat deal😓) and not the right quality to help us chase titles...

Expand full comment

Personally I assume that Arsenal will still offload Vieira, Nketiah and Ramsdale this week.

Merino will replace Havertz/Rice in left midfield position and Nwaneri will replace Vieira.

Arsenal appear also to have lined up a replacement second string goalkeeper should

Ramsdale leaves.

The one remaining unanswered question is whether we recruit another forward. At the

moment we have six players on the books in forward positions if Nelson remains at club.

My personal gut feeling is that Arsenal's number of squad players will be reduced this

season. I think that Arteta's preference is a leaner but better quality squad of 3 goalkeepers and 20 outfield players.

Let's not forget that whilst we select 9 players to sit on bench only 5 can actually come off

bench and play.

Expand full comment

Agreed.

Fabio was the guy to give us a leeway in both right wing and attacking midfield.

When I was thinking of our transfer window being over, as far as incoming players go, I planned with Fabio in the team.

We might keep Reiss and call it a day but probably we're looking for a new club for him and then we'll probably be 1 player short. To be honest, we're not really, really short and it's very fixable in the winter transfer window, but surely things have changed now compared to a week ago.

I don't know. If the correct player doesn't show up right now, I'd rather not get anyone. Then we'd have a decent chunk in the winter to correct in case we've gotten a serious injury to an important player or two.

Expand full comment

Also while it doesn’t appear we’ve done much…

So far we’ve lost Hein, Cedric, Elneny, Smith Rowe, and possibly Eddie + Vieira.

Which would be 24% of last seasons 25 man squad changed..

Which possibly more to come with Nelson, Ramsdale, Kiwior.

Our options are limited now.

If it is a CF

There is Osihmen whose wage demands are scaring teams away.

Gyokeres at Sporting but they might want the 85m release clause which we aren't going to pay.

But my gut feeling is it will be a Winger. We will try for a younger profile winger like Adingra.

If that doesn't happen there are plenty of options on a loan move for experienced options. Chiesa, Coman and Sterling are all in the market too. Even Conceição moved to Juve in a loan deal with a buy option which is a great deal for Juventus.

There will be options. But it might not get fans out of their seats. But we will have a better option than Nelson by the end of this window.

Expand full comment

Something doesn't seem right with Osimhen. He doesn't seem like the right profile mentality wise. He doesn't seem like a team player and a good guy. A little bit of the Lukaku diva syndrome. It feels like he'll come and change the dynamics in the locker room instead of him changing himself to fit in the team.

Kai is quickly reaching Osimhen's level anyways.

Expand full comment

Osihmen is more of a goal scorer than Kai. But you are right, the drama always surrounding him makes it near impossible that we will sign him. It is a distraction.

I would avoid to be honest. I would rather another Striker or see what Kai can do.

Expand full comment

I don't like Osimhen but it has nothing to do with his mentality or personality

He's a down to earth humble dude who grew up selling bagged water in slow moving traffic in Lagos. He's not a diva

He's the lad who accidentally hit someone with a ball during warm up in serie A and crossed into the terraces to apologize. He has the same humility as Saka.

I don't want him because he's a not a natural goal scorer

Expand full comment

That's a nice story I didn't know about. Kudos to him for making it so freaking big.

He supposedly asked Chavs to put him on a £500,000-a-week wages. That's quite insane if true. You'd only ask for probably unrealistic money as that, if your main drive isn't sporting related but money related.

Expand full comment

Or maybe he's not interested in going to Chelsea so he's scaring them away with huge salary demands. Would be ecstatic if he signed for us.

Expand full comment

The other rumored option for him is/was PSG and that's a similar club to Chavs.

I'm not sure how good Kolo Muani is still but if PSG decided to cut their loses with him, he might be an interesting option. I admit I haven't paid any attention to PSG at all but his profile is good.

Ben Jacobs

@JacobsBen

Eddie Nketiah set to join Crystal Palace in a deal worth £30m. #AFC and Palace working to finalise and Nketiah has already agreed to join.

#AFC dropped their price from the beginning of the window. Nketiah always expected to leave, and Palace move seen as suiting all parties.🦅

------------------------

Fair enough. Ask for a high valuation and know when it is the right time to get it done. Well played Edu.

This will all be pointless if we don't get in the right forward though.

He was right in his valuation of £30m. I said £20 to £25m before the start of the window. Fair play in thinking we would get more.

All of this won't matter if we don't get the right striker/winger in though.

I think Marseille, Bournemouth, Forest and Palace are the clubs that supposedly officially bid for him. Last night it was mentioned that another European club was on the table. More would have joined the conversation the closer we get to deadline day. Surely all of them are dumber than you.

Apparently Palace are negotiating with Celtic to sell them Edouard back. That is why they think Eddie is the right player for them.

When you are focused on your club, you forget that other teams have to fill needs too. I thought we would get moves for most of our fringe players this summer. Because most of them are under 25 (except Ramsdale who is 26 which is a baby for a keeper).

Seems it is going to happen late. I see Riess moving with a loan with an obligation in the PL. Kiwior will move too. I think Ramsdale will end up staying.

I will concede that Eddie can do much better than Edouard who has more vowels in his name than football class.

Eddie is better than Edouard but can he bench Mateta the beast, not so sure of that

Expand full comment

That is what I have been saying for years. He can be a good striker for a midtable team and possibly a backup for a team chasing top 4. But no more than that. That is his ceiling.
