Darwin’s finishing and decision making is beyond horrible

He’s one of those players who builds up numbers purely based on the volume of chances he gets rather than because he’s actually good. If we are frustrated by Jesus’ finishing, Darwin is not the answer

That said Havertz has improved immeasurably at Arsenal so if Darwin did the same he’d be awesome.

One thing is true is Darwin could complete the set for team height and power lol.

Darwin—-havertz—-Saka

11 players, 8 beasts and the remaining 3 are robust as well 😂😂

Gyokeres is fine. I dont think we will trigger the release clause, some 70 M or so.

I now seeing this Darwin thing all over the internets.

Who knows.. I just hope we get someone good who can help us

His release clause is £86m.

Even if we manage to bring that down to £70m, the bro was playing in the Championship by the time he was 25 yo. He has literally 1 season in Portugal, that's his career.

Maybe he's a monster striker but I don't see anyone lining up to pay huge money for him. Probably because they want to see more of him before they could commit.

Now the Premier League? The toughest league in the world is a massive jump. It's risky af. Maybe someone who has scouted him more thoroughly knows what's up.

Portugal league aint the toughest test.

Gyokores actually looks good. I have watched a few games recently and he looks really good. Techically sound and he has dribbling ability. Plus he looks like a killer with his finishing from what I saw. If I have to choose he would be first, then Toney. Isak was the guy but he was never realistic.

Expand full comment

I like the idea of Gyokeres but he is scoring against teams like Rio Ave and Firense they are like league 2 teams

He is a gamble

One I would take

Darwin has pace to burn but his finishing is lacking can we get him firing ? Klopp couldn't

18 goals, 13 assists in 3000 mins in all comps last season.

11 goals, 8 assists in 2000 mins in the PL.

If he was to play 3200 mins in the PL that'd be relatively close to 20 goals and 15 assists. It doesn't sound bad, does it...

Aug 27·edited Aug 27

Lol, extrapolation is not how it works. That is hilarious really. He was benched for Jota because he was missing sitter after sitter. that is why he played 2000 minutes.

Expand full comment
Aug 27·edited Aug 27

How does extrapolation work, enlighten me?

You want me to consider him like he started in all of the games? He didn't. We don't know why. Maybe he didn't fit well with Salah. Maybe he wasn't meant to play under Klopp. Who knows.

But 11 goals, 8 assists in 2000 mins is pretty solid. He can do even better.

He is such an Arteta player it's insane.

Expand full comment

Rap just looking for his Eddie replacement and of course its that donkey Darwin Nunez who misses sitters just like Eddie. Nice try, you're not fooling anyone! Darwin got found out the moment he set foot in PL football, and all it took was a handful of games. Been shit ever since.

Expand full comment

He misses a lot... now laugh at me...

But he misses by much less than our guys. I believe Arteta could fix him just enough. The combo of pace and power he has is rare.

I'll remember this shit take. Izzo and Hab.

Now that I remember, aren't you the guy that said Haaland is a shit striker or something of sorts?

I shouldn't have even replied. I regret it.

Expand full comment

you just said because he scored 11 goals in 2000 minuntes he will score double that in double the minutes. That is the worst type of argument. You just extrapolated his stats to make it look good, But he has scored 20 league goals in two seasons. hahaha. Havertz scored 13 while he was playing midfiled half the season. And Liverpool aren't a grave yard like chelsea for talent. If you are shit at Liverpool under Klopp, you probably are shit.

People actually think Darwin Noodles would be a good signing....kin ell.

We already have one lanky donkey up front, and we don't need another.

Expand full comment

It's normal that if you don't rate Havertz you won't rate Darwin. Makes perfect sense.

Expand full comment

It absolutely does make sense, thanks for noticing.

Just what the club needs, another £50-60m on a striker that couldn't score in a brothel.

GJ, Havertz and Nunez up front should be classed as a footballing terrorism.

Also, the "source" is AFCAMDEN, a known bullshitter.

No to Gyokeres. One season of brilliance in a not-so-top league.

No to Nunez, too.

AFCAMDEN

Arsenal interested in signing Darwin Nunez before Friday’s transfer deadline. Player keen to move to London and work under Mikel to win trophies + Liverpool willing to sell. Improbable but not impossible.

Now we're talking. Can play CF and LW. Incredible in transition. Always puts in a shift. Kai and him are the CFs we need to wipe the competition in the next 5 years.

Gives us that much needed explosiveness in attack. Especially in Europe.

Under Arteta he could become a monster, similar to Kai's development.

I know his finishing is bad but I really like him. I would trust Arteta. He could make him a monster.

shit man, maybe this is what Edu was talking about being surprised. Aerial attack and power and pace.

Bro stop pushing this Darwin Nunez Agenda. We are lacking a killer. We already have players that can be nuisances. But the only killer we have is Trossard. I would rather Toney a 1000 perecent than Nunez. FFS.

A 100 percent. Darwin is a frustrating player. Pool fans were crying all season last season. There is a reason why they want him out. He doesn't finish his chances and his technical ability is questionable. Toney is atleast technically really good and will get us goals. And I am not even a massive Toney fan but I would much rather him than Darwin. Darwin will never go past 15 league goals. Havertz is much better than him.

Expand full comment

Have you ever looked at Toney conversion % and numbers without pens? A 1 in 3 striker who everybody in their 11 was servicing.

What is the attraction ?

Expand full comment

I respect your opinion but disagree. Toney is washed. his return last season was dismal. Darwin still has an upside is younger and perhaps Mike can get him firing again. His movement is good and speed. Toney was good but I dont think he has it anymore. Should grab that bag and head to Saudi.

Darwin Nunez in his two seasons at Liverpool playing a heavy metal football that suits him scored 9 and 11 league goals. What do you think will happen when teams are sitting deep against us? He will chase his first touch and will frustrate at Arsenal. He is the ultimate highlight player. When it comes off it looks fantastic but most of the time he is shit.

I’m not really digging all the big hard running low technical players

Merino isn’t a baller. Rice isn’t a baller. Havertz isn’t a baller. Martinelli isn’t a baller

The players who do like a bit of dazzle in their game are trained to play within restrictions and I find it a bit dull

It’s a bit chelsea 05-07

Except their flair olayers had more license than ours

I love that we are such a good team but it’s sorely in need of some fantasy and magic

Merino is just another dull press monster

For the record I love rice and Havertz but I’d like to see their qualities offset but some real technical flair and not safe players like merino partey Jorginho etc

which players fit the bill for you?

Olmo

Xavi Simons

Kvicha (however you spell it)

De Jong

All beautiful to watch and get you out of your seat

That technical excellence

Brain over brawn

We’ve gone from the artistry of 2007-2016 to brute physicality over finesse

We do have some excellent technical players already

I just get the sense that they are having their instincts strangled

Why can't we play Martinelli CF ? He has pace and great finishing

Expand full comment

His finishing isn’t that great. Neither is his touch

What he does have is he shoot’s early and powerfully and catches the keeper off guard and he’s good in the air

You have to ask yourself why trossard is out scoring him with far less game time

Well trossard has better anticipation, can read the game and is the superior finisher, usually always picking a corner

There’s a reason why Jesus Eddie Havertz and trossard all get selected at 9 and not Martinelli

I’d like to see him get a run off games there in the league and fa cup to see how he gets on but I’m not convinced he has the variety and adaptability to play in this team
