There is under a month left for the transfer window to run its course. There is no reason that teams that are quiet now may not take a second look at Arsenal players towards the end of the window when they are clear about their needs. Fans are caught up in the here and now.

Also, some of the people slamming Arsenal for taking a tough stance on Nketiah while we are halfway through the window will be the same sorry folks slamming the club if Nketiah was let go for a pittance or less than his worth.

Remember the blah-blah-blah about Toney to Tottenham? Shit happens. His replacement is out for the rest of the year. Still think Toney is going anywhere? Anything can happen this month - just go with the flow.

This the time to be an arsenal supporter. I’m liking the ideas of renovating the stadium and adding more seats to it. We deserve better and bigger stadium to match our future achievements.

🔴⚪️ Understand Arsenal want at least €35m plus sell-on clause for Eddie Nketiah.

That's why Arsenal decided to reject €27m proposal from Olympique Marseille, as revealed on Friday.

No agreement between clubs so far and OM could now start to look also at new options.

Correct. The club obviously rate Eddie high. Cause he's worth it.

“I recall when Palace bought Rob Holding for £4 million …….”

Do you now?

Transfermarkt has him going to Palace for €1.2m.

Maybe that transfer should teach some of you guys to wait until the add ons actually kick in before you spend them on new transfers.

You’re back with your microscopic rebuttals again, ye lord of little things.

You want to pretend that transfermrkt is the only source or transfer information.

The near global reporting of the Holding transfer was £4 million, that’s what the bbc and other British media reported. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/66691963#:~:text=Arsenal%20defender%20Rob%20Holding%20has,the%20Gunners%20over%20seven%20seasons.

In any case, even if it was 500k, my point still stands…we robbed them blind because the player wasn’t fit for any purpose.

You were off only by 75%.

By your standards that’s not too bad.

Expand full comment

You’re doing that thick routine again, it’s like one has to do a craniotomy to bypass your impervious reasoning skills.

The figures reported for the Holding transfer were a total of about 4 million, about £1-1.5 million with about £2.5 million. Same way ESR transfer to Fulham is reported as 34 million, even though 7 million is in the form of add-ons.

I wasn’t off by a zilch, I quoted the credible source that called it £4 million. I even posted the source.

Tom, go find a spinning top to play with, it will match the childish pedantry you’re displaying.

Eddie is so bad, if he was at other club none of us would want him. 20M would be good money.

Pedro, you work to live not live to work!

West Ham choosing foreign players year after year, Scamacca, now Fullkrug and many more. They feel like they're clever and elite. Then they ignore available experienced premier

league talent like ESR, Nketiah, Reiss Nelson. They deserve what they get.

Its like they get their transfer ideas from newsnow and Grove comments. We'll see how it goes.

Expand full comment

Lmao. If they are premier league talents worth having, why do we have to sell them? Surely they can be back ups?

An Arsenal fan gaslighting another cos of foreign talent is crazy funny though. We paid 3m for Marquinhos from Brazil when he was available on a free!

Total premier league player purchases frm Arsenal in the last 25 years can't be more than 10 (useful players, not oldies like Sylvestre and Cech)

Expand full comment

Bro, we are title contenders. A player that's not good enough for us right now doesn't mean he isn't good enough for a Westham. If we were top 4 contenders instead of a title one, ESR, Eddie and Nelson would have been good enough as squad options.

Westham did well getting Summerville for £25 mil. But they are paying £27 mil for a 31 year old Fullkrug.

There needs to be a balance with negativity. We aren't gaslighting anyone. Most teams who are below midtable would really like to have these players. These players aren't the likes of Kolasinac and Mustafi.

Expand full comment

You can't suggest to scouts of other clubs who to buy. We also buy more foreign players than local. Westham think Fulkrug can give them better than Eddie and I believe so too. He's a German international. Performed credibly in the last Euros too. I think we need to get off our high horses for a minute here.

But these teams aren’t as daft as you think, they do their own research and that data doesn’t seem to support outbidding Marseille for Nkettiah.

Just make peace with that, it is what it is.

I love esr but I’m pretty excited about his move

It’s simply the right move at the right time and price for all parties. Well done edu and team.

I like Fulham so hope he goes there and bangs

Also if we can squeeze another few million out of marseille that will be a big job done. Recouping 60+m from those 2 (and anything for Nelson??) would presumably cover us for merino and grease the wheels towards another signing

Raptora,

We ain't getting over rated, over priced Guimaraes. Fek him and his club. Try keeping expectations in the real world and get over that cnt.

Really sometimes you say childish things, like we could use that money (a fair price for Merino) for dream boy Bruno..

This "it's over" talk is no way to welcome a player (if Merino joins).

If Merino weren't going into his final year, he would cost more.

Maybe look at the trophies he's won in his career.

Euros 2024, German cup at Dortmund, Spanish Copa, under 21 Euros, under 19 Euros, and Nations league.

He may not be the star, but he contributes.

What has Bruno won?

Probably not gonna win anything in the future.

Try putting him out of you dreams for a day.

Bruno may win best make-up award.

I think 30M Euros will seal it. They are not too far off. all this nonsense about 40-50 is nuts. Eddie aint worth that. He is a a good finisher but offers little else. Is short, not particularly fast and cannot dribble like other top strikers. However, he is a good lad, coachable and hopefully has more upside with more games. Ill be stoked to take 30M euros for him. Add to that ESR and we are looking at 60 plus in the bank. That is good striker money. Merino is cheap im sure we have the funds there for him already but 60 for that striker is what i am hoping for!!!

Expand full comment

Pedro, your commitment to the Eddie hype is admirable but I liked how piers kandela called you out. Eddie is simply not good enough. Consummate professional but just not good enough at our level. 20mill plus a few random add-ons and I’d be happy

Expand full comment

One of the select chosen - De Zerbi, is pushing to sign Eddie on what is expected to be a top 3 most expensive arrival in the history of OM. After the rejected offer today, if the next bid is of €30m it would make him #2.

If none of the above is impressive to you, that's a you problem.

🚨🔴⚪️ EXCL: Arsenal reject today new proposal from Olympique Marseille for Eddie Nketiah.

Understand proposal in the region of €27m was still considered not enough to let Eddie leave.

OM agreed personal terms with Nketiah but still no agreement with #AFC.

-‐----‐------------------------------------------------------------------

That takes balls from Edu. But it better pay off. Because £23 mil is about the right ball park for Eddie. If it does I will clap him being bold. If not and we get stuck with him, then we will have failed.

Expand full comment

I would've taken it, to avoid the risk. We have no use for Eddie at this stage.... and he deserves the move, more than Leno deserved his favoured London move.

Expand full comment

I think this will be a good move if we get them to pay more. If not, it would have been a mistake. To be honest I want Riess and Eddie out so that we can bring in a new attacker as soon as possible.

Expand full comment

Excellent from Edu.

No way do we let go Eddie for such a pittance.

He's worth £25 - 30 tops (with add-ons).

L'OM better cough up or just fuck off.

Expand full comment

If they fuck off and he stays we will lose a £23 mil fee and a 100k a week wages for the next 3 years which equates to around 15 mil. Basically a 38 mil loss.

He just needs to get them to the £25 mil mark and close the deal so that we can move for an attacking target.

Expand full comment

Even if OM don't come back, another other club will. The others are sleeping.

They will be back though. De Zerbi knows what's up.

Expand full comment

I hope so too. We can't sit him and Riess on the bench and not bring in anyone. We have to find a top level attacker to relieve Saka of the pressure we put him on.

Arsenal need to try and get hard for once when selling. You have Chelski selling unknown players for a lot of money and we're going to bend over for less?

Fuck that.

I know where you are coming from but it's about time we showed much more steel when we sell.

We're a club who has finished twice 2nd in the EPL. We're not a crap club by any standards (unlike Chelski whom I hope fall further down the toilet).

Expand full comment

How much would you demand for him? 30 mil?

There isn't a lot of market for him as people thought. Westham are literally spending €27m + €5 m in add ons on a 31 year old Fullkrug instead of Eddie who just turned 25 and knows the league.

We have to balance getting a good fee and getting rid of unwanted players.

Mill should I add. Otherwise it's just a bag of chips and we had enough of those already.

There are around 3 clubs who believe Newcastle may still have financial issues.

IF this is the case Arsenal may try to sign Bruno in a deal involving Aaron Ramsdale.

______________________________________________________________

Now, that's a deal that I would support 100000%.

It's got to be a clickbait though. Sounds way too good. Especially when Merino is all but announced.

Expand full comment

No way we get Bruno for Ramsdale. I would genuinely be a 100% confident we would win the league if that happens.

Expand full comment

That's my issue with Merino. If we can bring someone as good as Bruno G, the 25mil we're paying for Merino, could be used there instead.

If Merino joins, it's over. Our only hope would be a Saudi club coming for Partey but with the massive suitcase that is. Chances are minimal.

But with the 25mil we're about to drop for Merino, we could get Bruno G or someone similar and call it a day for that position in the years to come. Unless Rice + Bruno G isn't the way according to Arteta, then all of this noise is for nothing.

I recall when Palace bought Rob Holding for £4 million , the same internet transfer valuation experts same in to suggest that we undersold as usual

When you look at it from Palace’s perspective, we just robbed them blind of a good sum of money because he’s not fit for purpose, after all the 9 seasons of occupying valuable squad space at Arsenal.

Rob Holding never even played once for their first XI. It was daylight robbery I should add.
