I will focus on matters relating to Arsenal rather than the Euros.
1. I agree 100% with your comment that Arsenal's outgoing transfer business is terrible. I said as much last week. The idea that we are sending Lokonga out on loan rather than selling him is ridiculous. Surely he is worth £15 million in transfer market even if it is not to Seville.
2. I don't know anything about Calafieri [English translation" Bay of Flowers"], but despite what
Jake says we do need a first choice left back to complete our back line. None of the current
crop of options is on the same level as the other three starters.
3. I expect Arsenal to bring in 4 new players in transfer market. Apart from LB I expect the club
to recruit a GK, MF and Winger. I don't think that we are going to buy a Centre Forward.
4. I made the case that Arsenal do not need more than 23 players in first team squad. The maximum number of regular starters/bench players needed is 18-20.
5. The remaining players in the squad should be a third string goalkeeper and 2 young players
promoted from the U21s who are unlikely to get much game time, but at least know that there
is a pathway to first team. Being part of first team set up and with a starting wage of £10-15K
pw is the direction. Nanweri should be part of first team set up this season. If they get 300-500
minutes playing for first team it is at least a progression.
Couldn't agree more on Naweri, he should get over 300 minutes this season. We must implement the outstanding youth players
