As I posted below, they didn't cover Skipp's about 4 yellow card offences - just 1 given. They didn't show Kai's penalty shout. They didn't show Ndidi, on a yellow, kicking the ball away after a foul on Saka.
They did however, showed Vardy's appeal for a foul before our 1st goal and Calafiori's foul that they believe warranted a 2nd yellow card.
Also, they only talked about our corner kicks for about 2 minutes of replays + analysis, then about 30 seconds on Nwaneri and of course how the referee obviously got it wrong in both occasions against Leicester and in Arsenal's favor.
I don't mind showing Leicester's POV - Calafiori is lucky to remain on the pitch, I agree, but give me a break and show the moments Arsenal felt hard done by the ref - potential red cards on Ndidi, Skipp and the possible foul in the penalty area on Kai. None of it shown on MotD.
Le grove has descended to a referee conspiracy forum, even from the posters I hitherto didn't expect it from. It's a fucking shame. Everything you get into this place, it's about who has paid referee or who has gone to Saudi Arabia or UAE to collect pay check. It's fucking disgraceful
I think they're all pretty much shit, all the refs and I do think some of them actually don't like us a club but I see clubs every weekend get shafted by utter inconsistency so I don't get the whole they have it out for us.
See the obvious pen that wasn't given to Palace for Mateta against Everton and it's hilarious how bad the refs are
Btw, an unbelievable free kick from Palmer. Absolutely stunning and one of the best I've ever seen.
But why was the free kick taken about 10 yards closer to Brighton's goal? Unbelievable free kick but 10 yards further away and it's almost impossible to even try to shoot from there.
I literally posted below what they talked about on MotD.
We were presented as the team supported by the ref and the team that relies on set pieces to score goals. That's all they talked about + a 1 minute replay of Nwaneri's cameo. That was MotD - ref helping us + Leicester's manager fuming at the ref and us being a menace from corners - the end.
They purposely showed Calafiori's yellow card, then showed the foul Leicester were furious about when he wasn't given a 2nd yellow card. They didn't give a clear angle from a camera that showed enough conclusive evidence but everybody - the commentator and the pundits after the game UNIVERSALLY agreed he should have been sent off.
They focused on the situation before our first goal where Leicester wanted a foul on Vardy - https://twitter.com/RoggyLCFC/status/1840038015260922134 - talked about it, said it's a foul, showed Steve Cooper protest about the decisions in the interview.
The fellas out there, including pundits, journalists, influencers or whatever the fuck their name is...
All of them who say how we played negative, ugly, Toni Pulis type of football not only last week but in general, can now see us have what was possibly our highest xG since the stat was introduced, today.
From the ugliest, most boring, anti football type of team a week ago, we became our most creative self since understatdotcom's first season of writing down the xG stat in 2014/15 meaning, we've created more than ever today than in any other Premier League game in at least the last 10 years. Possibly even more.
With an xG of 6.05, I would say something doesn't add up to the allegations we're playing ugly football. Probably the folks that called us boring and anti football don't know jackshit about football - OR are just attention seeking whores having hyperbolic reaction for clicks and fame.
Whichever of the two it is, it's clear they don't deserve the attention of a semi-reasonable, semi-intelligent football fan.
Of course Arsenal’s playing style has descended to being ugly since 2022. Its uglier than even Arsenal fans can appreciate.
But then, when the cabinet has been empty since 2018 and the players and fans quite close to the title two years consecutively, let it be ugly, let’s all accept the ugliness till May/June 2025
Remember when Arsene Wenger was sent off for kicking a water bottle? Fast forward to last week, and not a single pundit or media outlet has said a word about Pep Guardiola kicking an empty chair. If that had been Mikel Arteta, the whole world would have exploded.
Absolutely NOBODY is talking about it. I happen to think it’s not really a big deal, but that’s not how the general media reacts to these things when it’s us.
The foul which got Saliba booked was never worthy of a yellow card. Simple accidental coming together of two players.
It's annoying how referees are so quick and happy to brandish cards to Arsenal players.
Whereas, Cucurella comited same foul against Brighton and the referee played on.
Well, I pay attention to details. It gets swept under the carpet because it did not have a lasting negative effect on the points haul after the match. But Arsenal should be swinging hammers at the PGMOL and at the FA
Gabby Martinelli was good today the goal gave him confidence and he had a good first half. He was quiet in the second, his replacement Sterling was not as good.
Till the very end 😤 I will always fight for this badge. Thank you for the support Gooners 👏🏼

Not going to name shame but a few on here were quite toxic to Marti. The guy that was literally raised at Arsenal. A homegrown player who we've seen countless times give his all for the club.
I'm also toxic but to players we don't really need anymore - Jesus, Zinchenko, Tomiyasu.
We're almost 2 months in and their contribution to our cause is literally zero. And it doesn't even matter. They aren't missed one bit.
Saying that someone has not been performing or is inconsistent in front of goal (which he was) isn't being toxic to them. Martinelli has not been playing well for a long time now and as much as he needed support, he also needed to sit up and start performing. No one should have the security of playing for Arsenal forever.
No, just because there are a number of targets other than our undoubted corner King, Gabriel. Check out Calafiori yesterday for example. Rice, Havertz and Saliba too. Can’t deny that I’m looking forward to seeing Merino in the mix as well!
Partey was crap today. His intensity to protect our defense is a joke. He has been poor for a while whenever any space opens up and we are playing higher. He is a liability. The first goal came from him giving the ball away and being countered with a Saliba foul. He didn't stop the cross from coming in on the 2nd as well. He has looked like a lazy player. And we don't need laziness.
That cross wasn't dangerous if we were organized in defence. A balloon ball to the back post.
Saliba and Gabriel had their guys.
Our fullbacks though
- Timber didn't have a single player next to him, he had to rush towards the Leicester player on the flanks.
- Calafiori was way too close to Gabriel who already had his guy covered, that left space behind Calafiori and we were punished. He should not get that close to the middle without looking around himself and anticipating the player behind him.
I agree that Partey is currently in a physical decline but what do you expect of him really? He closed the space to Ndidi but that was a hopeful ball into the box. It wasn't supposed to be dangerous unless you think that every single cross is a danger. We were grouped up but individual errors of Timber (the smaller mistake) and especially Calafiori cost us the goal.
Calafiori absolutely played that like a CB which is understandable as he is a CB and is in the middle of learning a new role.
But that goal isn't on Partey. It's on our full backs. Justin volleyed the ball in the box, didn't head the ball, he volleyed it. He was supposed to be allowed to kick the ball in the box.
Partey is a liability when we're defending in transition, that's not news. That's always the danger when we're playing versus the so called weaker teams. He's at his best versus mid block teams, the hardest teams for us last season like Chelsea, Villa, Porto, Fulham, Brighton etc.
It isn't just about the goals. The amount of passes I saw him misplace was ridiculous. He gave away so many balls in dangerous areas. Other than that I have seen him jog back way too many times when he is the DM and supposed to cover those spaces.
I fought with dissenter 4 years ago when he was suggesting 20m for Hoijberg was the better deal and all that. He was a ridiculous player in breaking lines, covering space and overall technically. What I am seeing now is a shadow of his former self. He passes it sideways, loses the ball a lot, can't physically stop teams from running through us. He is only useful in a lowblock now. No wonder he looked good vs City and Spurs. You will see the difference when Merino comes back and Rice moves back to 6. We will concede less of these situations.
He's a specialist in passing between the lines. When teams defend with 11 in and around their box, he's less effective.
Our starting midfield 3 is supposed to be Rice, Merino, Odegaard.
Rice played but not in his best position, the other two are injured.
Not sure what you expect of Partey when we're playing with a LM Rice and Tross as some kind of a shadow striker.
First there were no pockets cause Leicester were defending so deep and two, there was nobody to try to find the pockets for Partey. He was just recycling the ball.
You blame him for sideways passing but you don't do the same for Rice? Do you think Rice had a good game? He didn't do better than Partey one bit.
You are very biased against Partey somehow. Yes, he didn't have a great game today but he did on par with what's expected. Not a word on Rice? What did he do?
Rice was okay. Partey was crap. There is a difference. Rice is probably playing in a position we don't need him in. And I saw consistency last season.
Partey has been awful since he has been back at the end of last season. We had poor performances in the run in because we had him in the side. And it has continued now. We can't carry liabilities. I can forgive not being adventurous enough I'd you are committed and win the ball back. What I don't want is a player that doesn't win duels, gets bypassed and not committed.
Tom the creep was whinging because I'm re-evaluating Liverpool contending as opposed to 115 Man City without Rodri.
Have you seen Liverpools goals against this season so far?
Learn about football before debating against knowledge fans.
That's what Tom calls "soccer".
At the same time I predicted all the forces in the league, media, pgmol would be in liverpools corner.
You see how long they reviewed Wolves goal which was obviously good? Then a penalty awarded within a minute. Arsenal have had worse box pullbacks ignored. You all remember it happening to Saka.
City are still favorites, and KDB is their most influential player not Rodri.
Pool will fall off the pace at which point you’ll come on here saying how you predicted Klopp quit because he knew Liverpool was at the end of a cycle and couldn’t compete with Arsenal and City.
Face it Nigel, gaslighting Legrove comments section is your second favorite past time after giving hand jobs to strangers for petty cash
‘I’m not asking Arteta to gouge someone’s eye out or anything?’ 😂😂😂
Old post n old just reading it 🤣
UTD absolutely shocking today. Fernandes equally awful. Those twats will play like their lives depend upon it when we go there.
Please suggest a website to watch extended highlights
go to youtube, use any free VPN with a location of USA and you will have NBC sports extended highlights.
Arsenal highlights are shared at arsenalist.com - from there, there's this link to Match of the Day highlights and below on the same link when you scroll down, you'll see the analysis video of MotD https://arsenalist.com/f/arsenal-vs-leicester-city-motd-highlights-analysis-with-alternate-links-2024-09-28.html
MotD is quite selective in their footage though.

Surely legrove is the problem.
I just watched MotD.
They purposely showed Calafiori's yellow card, then showed the foul Leicester were furious about when he wasn't given a 2nd yellow card. Not a word on Kai's penalty shout that was not shoulder to shoulder - they didn't even show it. http://arsenalist.com/f/havertz-penalty-shout-2024-09-28.html
Not a word on Ndidi, already on a yellow, kicking the ball away after the play was stopped for a foul on Saka in the 34th minute - they didn't show that either. https://www.reddit.com/r/Gunners/comments/1frg2lv/ndidi_on_a_yellow_kicks_the_ball_away
Not a word on Skipp who might have received about 4 yellows but only got 1 - https://twitter.com/arsenaltweeta/status/1840051071386792058 nasty challenge, no booking.
Not a word on our unbelievable xG, not a word on the superb chances we created throughout the game.
A full on deep analysis on the 17 corners we won and how dangerous we are from set pieces.
Yeah, they despise us.
The fellas out there, including pundits, journalists, influencers or whatever the fuck their name is...

And how good to have Theo on as a pundit to make up for the the much-missed Wrighty
“I’m not going down the road of blaming the refs” says Cooper and then does exactly that on MotD - FFS

I'm giving Leo credit for the brace!

love the celebration for Martinelli's assist
it's like they knew he'd need that after the draught
When will Merino be fit? When fit, will he be the 2nd target after Gabriel during our corners?
Fair point, Merino is an aerial monster
Next week full training. Strange second question.
You mean needless 2nd q?
No, just because there are a number of targets other than our undoubted corner King, Gabriel. Check out Calafiori yesterday for example. Rice, Havertz and Saliba too. Can’t deny that I’m looking forward to seeing Merino in the mix as well!
Anyone can stick with a prediction of Man City because they are the champions.
I'm looking at facts on the ground and making a PREDICTION.
I'm not staying with the status quo and giving Kevin debruyne as the reason, which is a simpletons reading of the game.
Try going out in a limb once in a while, instead of recycling typical dump pundit quotes.
I said Man City are not going to be relevant in the race... I said it early this morning, before they drew their game.
All you do is justify results after the fact. Never a specific observation of game play. Just regurgitation of highlight comments.
But you keep criticising your betters who offer some interesting views and analysis here.
The facts in the ground are Liverpool has played no one of note to date outside of United, while we have played City, Villa, and Tottenham all away.
As a matter of fact Pools opponents average league position is 14th place.
Seems more a knee jerk proclaiming them title challengers, but again you seem quite partial to jerking, knee or otherwise.
Rap

City lost 4 of their 5 games without Rodri last season.
They went 3+ months without KDB and did just fine.
KDB is icing on the Rodri cake.
Whoa
