Thoughts on the andrea berta? I’m not gonna pretend I know a lot about him but seems like a very impressionable resume/experience from what I have read.
Watching it from all angles + https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/1p95gd/mikel_arteta_red_card/ where it shows how far from goal Chamakh was, he also kicked the ball to the flank which makes the situation look less dangerous and also Ramsey is in a position to chase Chamakh down, Arteta was correct when he said his red card was very harsh. Chamakh makes a step to the side to protect the ball cause he's aware he's slow and that's why the contact happens, he initiates it. Not much in it really.
He scored 9 goals in 22 games on loan and we sold him for 4m and six months later he was sold for 13m. Already now on 10 goals in 7 league games scoring 3 hattricks. How much is he worth now is anybody's guess. Arteta talent ID is truly generational.
By the way ayden and obi Martins played for united in FA Cup. You can bet anything with it that it would never have happened under arteta and we'll still get dumped out of the competition anyways. And some are here saying they left for money and not playing time.
This post is from the Daily Cannon about the new rules for goalkeeper time wasting... Note anything being said about the behaviors of refs towards arsenal?
Goalkeeper timewasting simply isn’t punished in today’s game. Some goalkeepers hold the ball for 15 seconds or more on a regular basis and nothing comes of it.
The new rule will allow the goalkeepers eight seconds to hold the ball, with the referee using a visual five-second countdown. If the goalkeeper fails to release the ball at the end of that countdown, the referee will award a corner kick to the opposition.
By giving the goalkeepers slightly more time to hold the ball, and by changing the punishment to a corner, the rule feels a lot fairer.
On top of that, the visual countdown will make it feel less like the punishment has come out of the blue. If you watch the referee count down from five and you still fail to release the ball, you can hardly complain that you’re being punished for it.
But as with all rule changes, implementation is key. It’s all well and good telling everyone you’re cracking down on delaying the restart, but, you can’t just send off two Arsenal players and then forget the rule exists for most of the remainder of the season.
I'm not here to defend Arteta... He clearly made bad calls this season. (He got one more year before I call for his head) But, Let us be honest... Too much shit went against us. WAY too fucking much, it's puke worthy. New rule, Arsenal suffers, rest of the world happy-go-lucky ref forgets the new rule.
This is bullshit. 5 fucking unfair red cards... Omo, I'm tired.
He has 3 league goals and 5 assists so far this season
Hard pass.
We need attackers who can put the team on their back when Saka is unable to help. 3 league goals in 22 games doesn’t sound like an upgrade to Martinelli whatsoever
I think what we need isn't just an upgrade to martineli because at the moment, a lot of wingers in the epl are upgrade to him. Even nwaneri is already an upgrade to him. And yes William is an upgrade and if you don't take time to watch a player play, but just looking at the starts, you might make a mistake. Arsenal need to identify the problem they wish to solve. For me it's creative part of his game that I like. I want to see my winger being a threat in one vs one situation but martineli can't go past even 38 year old Young. I will even take Doku from city over him all day.
Arsenal fans should better stop this thing about one player is not good enough. Because that is the reason we don't buy players and go after just one target and eventually overpaying. I don't even want us to buy Williams because he is too expensive but I don't want to see martineli in our starting 11 next season. There should be scores of cheaper alternatives.
Olatunde being better than Martinelli in 1v1 is also not enough. We need a counter balance to Saka who will drag us towards the title, not a player whose objective is just to create more chances. Wing forwards in the modern day play very advanced and need to be able to score goals if you want to win the title.
The reason Pool were so competitive with a (relatively) low scoring CF in Firmino was because Sane was a counter balance to Salah. Salah was the star but Mane was the one who plugged the gaps when Salah didn’t manage it. If the best Williams can do is create more chances it’s not really good enough
And he’s 22 at the moment, not a teenager. He’s been playing first team football for a good few years already and his output has never kicked on.
Williams looks good in a highlights compilation, roasting a man and scoring goals but over a 38 game season what you need is not good highlights but a regular, sustained expectation that at least 70% of the time this player will look the part. To date in his career he’s had no seasons where he’s managed that.
We already have too many defensive players in the team. Saka is about the only attack minded player we have and he is still being asked to defend. Don't even compare us to Liverpool because they are the perfect example of team where every department takes responsibility. Strikers score, midfield provide for the forwards and the defence do their job. But at arsenal everyone is a defender.
Jonathon David is available on a free this summer. Don’t know if he’d be a good fit but you might guess that even if he’s not a ceiling raiser he might be a floor raiser
David and kimmich both on frees might be a good way to replace and upgrade on Jorgi and Jesus whilst keeping more powder dry for an elite CM and forward
He has 21 goals and 9 assists in 37 games across all comps this season. For a free transfer option he could be a very shrewd choice
Asensio has demonstrated the ‘there was nothing we could’ve done in January’ line should be more accurately represented as ‘we didn’t try to do the right thing’
As Pedro sneers at those who suggested Villa may have shown Arsenal that you can improve your squad in January, Rashford has created more chances (13) than any other PL player since he started, and Asensio has scored 4 goals, thereby winning two games they might have drawn. Emery wooed him by promising to play him in his preferred position as a no. 10, where he can link midfield and the forward line as well as score goals. What a failure, eh? What could Arsenal possibly do with such a risky strategy on dodgy players ? Just asking.
You need to realize that the hallmark of a great coach is to play players out of position. Playing players in their preferred position is pedestrian coaching. As a generational coach, you must be able to think out of the box. Always. Be able to play your best DM as right back, play a central defender as full back, play midfielder as #9, even play with the idea of substituting your goalkeeper during a game just show you tactical edge.

We still won the game but yeah.
If this is the advice he gives our players, it explains how they are also getting themselves in problems.
Also good to note games can be won despite red cards

Supposedly we’re back in for Williams

The euros are a very small sample size

I'm surprised that there are still some that still think martineli should still be here next season running into a stationary defender.
No free posts since this one. Pedro you forgot about us prolls 😔
The only person who makes as many mistakes as Michael Oliver and gets away scot free is Transactional
The Milwall GK. should be charged in a court of law. Thats criminal
what is also criminal is michael oliver watching it from 5 yards and not giving a card at all. I guess he will be very disappointed by that …
Jonathan David works hard and is a good finisher.

Mateta's injury reminds me of Eduardo in 2008. Such as shame, and he was in such good form for Palace... Wish him speedy recovery.
As long as Europe starts paying instead of free-riding. Loooool
Unlike Africa who has ponced enough charity money to fix the continent four times over 🤔
Trump knows aid organizations are a tool by non Africans to launder money. He made the above statement to Starmer. Looool
Trump knows lefties, feminists, communists and third world spongers have been riding the hard working European tax payer for far far too long
One win & involvement.Lets see if they maintain it? No need for people to cream their pants.

Please refrain from giving Pedro more reasons for hating Emery.
Who do you think he’ll be rooting for in the event Villa meet Pool in the CL QF’s?
