In all these injuries this season, surprisingly Partey hasn't been injured, normally by now he would have been in and out of the team

Spurs are hilarious.

Our 4th hamstring injury of the season, this is more than just bad luck, Arteta's training methods need to be questioned. All of them aren't impact injuries by the way so there's something definitely different this season. Chalking this down to ill luck is just plain ignorance

It's such a shame Berta wasn't here sooner cause honestly we might have been rocking out Isak or Alvarez instead of Havertz and Jesus.

I suspect that all these rumors about the internal processes of the summer window are just opportunistic BS from attention seekers.

Berta has a reputation for staying behind the scenes. I dont believe he ever did a press interview in all his time at Atletico

Arteta doesn’t talk about transfers

So where are all these stories coming from?

🚨 EXCLUSIVE

It is our understanding Arsenal have been granted permission from Sporting CP to explore personal terms with the camp of Viktor Gyökeres. Hasan Çetinkaya (agent) who is also a long term friend of Mikel Arteta will now discuss key factors on the players side with Andrea Berta.

Andrea Berta is pushing for Viktor Gyökeres to be strongly considered to lead the Arsenal attack next season with interest first being reported by

@David_Ornstein

.

It is crucial to stress Arsenal are merely laying extensive groundwork for a strong candidate. The new sporting director wants to ensure the club have multiple options to choose from when the time comes to decide.

Well, well. More to the fire on Gyokeres. If we are trying to agree personal terms he must be high in the list. Berta is making noise everywhere.

Kivior had a run-in last season at left back where he was decent, when we we chasing the title

He’s the whipping boy right now, he better move on this summer so the spotlight can focus on the Italian who’s better at hair flicks and attacking, than actual defending.

Expand full comment

You mean the guy that has scored some cracking goals this season, the guy that starts for Italy? You are the only person comparing the quality of the two players. He has to prove he can stay fit for an entire season though. If it gets worse than this he will need to go as well.

Kiwior has cost us so many times this season. Liverpool at home, Fulham away, Against Mateta. Even last night he lost his man twice. He is just not a good defender. If he was, there wouldn't be this much disappointment with Gabriel's injury. He is the worst defender in our squad along with Zincehnko.

I am glad he is fit. But we also need players who are good enough to play.

Expand full comment

I did write that he’s better at hair flicks and attacking, than actual defending. Remove his “cracking goals” and you’re left with a dry husk.

I don’t rate Calafiori as a top defender one bit.

I can’t empty my mind of what Tyler Dibbling and Wan Bissaka did to him this season, it was sheer abuse.

Expand full comment

Lol, yeah being beaten once or twice is the same as costing us goals multiple times. I have seen him shut down wingers as well.

I saw Sane have his way with Kiwior so much he was substituted at half time. Anyone who watches football can see who is a good defender.

Expand full comment

I consider both to be meh players, problem is Cala cost twice what Kiwior cost and is more injury prone.

The reason why people like you are singing g Cala’s praise is because of aesthetics; Cala score nice goals and knows how to pump up the crowd with his emotionality, that’s when he’s not flicking his hair.

Kiwior on the other hand is twitchy and doesn’t engender confidence

In terms of defensive output, it’s six of one and half a dozen of the other.

Neither is top quality at defending.

Expand full comment

Keep on believing that. It just shows how much you know. The only thing Calafiori has to do is stay fit and he will prove this to be a crap opinion. Kiwior will leave to a mid table team

These injuries have been constantly occurring from whence we moved into the new stadium strangely. It appears to have got worse for a myriad of reasons.Wenger never got to the bottom of it.Citing some crackpot reasoning to wards the end of his reign. And now Tets can’t seem to get a handle on it either.Whats to be done?Perhaps we now need a “ Director of injuries”.

Lord knows,he’ll be busy…..

Expand full comment

We need to get rid of Kiwior in the summer along with Zinchenko. Tierney is going on a free too. Get 30 to 35m for both. And then we need to sign a fitness monster that can play anywhere across the back line like Tomiyasu. And he needs to be good enough.

That is the only way to guarantee cumulative injuries won't happen. If we had White, Timber, Saliba, Calafiori, MLS, Gabriel and a new versatile defender, we can go through a season unscathed.

Expand full comment

only if he rotates

Expand full comment

He hasn't had the opportunity to do so. Last season, Timber missed the entirety of the season. Now White has missed most of it. The less said about Tomiyasu the better because he missed both. So Saliba has had to play most of the two seasons. White and Timber one each.

On the left, Kiwior isn't good enough. He just isn't. But still he bought him so he should have played him in some of the easier games. In a title race it is hard to give an average player a shot though. But that's still Arteta's fault.

He has rotated Calafiori and MLS at times this season when both have been fit though.

It doesn't matter from now on. He has to deliver next season. He needs to protect himself against these injuries by managing load. No one will hear any excuses by the end of next season.

Expand full comment

TT should be gone, end of. His injuries have forced makeshift line ups in defense. He is made of glass. Re-signing him was just fucked up

Expand full comment

Yeah it is over for him. He has a year left by the end of this season with an option of a further year. And we won't be taking that option. If he is ready in the summer, he will be sold. If not he will leave next year on a free.

Expand full comment

Think about it. He pushes players so hard in training that they crack over the season, without being rotated. so, either rotate more often, or reduce training. Even reduce training sessions altogether throughout the season. Scan hammies, thougout the season. These players are like Ferrari's they dont need to be pushed that hard in training. The gains are minimal for that type of shit. It only satisfies Mike's ego. Nothing else.

His medical staff are quite like mice apparently. No one to tell Mike to change his methods even from the medical side. SMH.

Expand full comment

I knew that Gabriel injury wasn't going to be an easy one. Our players not kicking the ball out when they had it infuriated me.

Arteta isn't completely blameless with the amount of minutes he is dishing out to important players. He has signed some injury prone players or players that haven't been good enough to cover for these key players. Calafiori and Tomiyasu examples of the former, Sterling and Kiwior the latter.

This season has been shambolic interms of injuries to key players. Odegaard, Kai, Jesus, Saka, White and now Gabriel missing between 3 to 6 months. Tomiyasu has missed the entire season. Merino has missed 3 months. Martinelli has missed 2 months. Rice has had a few niggles.

Whatever we can think about training methods this is an unbelievable number of longterm injuries. And it has happened at other clubs too. The amount of games has been an issue whatever people think about it. They are not machines.

There will not be any excuses for Arteta next season though. He needs to sign some better players to take the load off some our key players and he needs to win regardless of circumstances.

Expand full comment

with such a small squad this season did you think we would be covered?

Expand full comment

"There will not be any excuses for Arteta next season though."

Ah yes excuses are okay for this season but next season there's none to be had.

Expand full comment

Yeah. I am using my brain and can see circumstances have affected us after two title challenges.

Next seaon he can't blame it on a poor window considering the noise of transfers. And he needs to manage the load of players. That is my cut off point.

Expand full comment

It's been 5+ years of examples of barely rotating and using his full squad and for you 6+ years is where you draw the line...that's something

Expand full comment

Christ, did you want him to rotate fucking Holding, Cedric?

Do you want him to rotate Fabio Viera, Sterling? Even Kiwior is bad.

The only times he has had options he has rotated a bit. Trossard and Martinelli share minutes. Kai and Jesus do too whenever they both have been fit which has been on rare occasions. Jorginho, Partey and Rice have been rotated at times this season which is why they have maintained fitness.

All top managers play their best players a lot. Van Dijk, Salah, Gravenberch. Macallister have barely missed league and UCL games this season. Pep has won the league in previous seasons with a core of 14 to 17 players.

You are just looking to whine about it because you hate the manager and have done so since the day he walked in.

Expand full comment

I want him to build a squad and rotate when necessary. 5+ years and 800 million spent...no excuses

Expand full comment

If Mike has a brain, he should order all players to have scans on their hammies throughout the season before we the big one hits. But of course he wont, bc 70 games should be the benchmark even if your hammies are screaming for mercy.

Such a fit player he was himself

Read on another site, all games are must wins and 3 points. NOPE, not after looking at reality, 2nd or 4th, do not care in the least, nor do the players really, other than pride. Rest, recovery for the playoffs, our playoffs are Cups, not all, but pick one, Arteta won't. Then on to the big show in CL, Quarters at least, Semi's a big push, finals a dream. This is knowing the league has been toast for weeks. And plan accordingly each year, but Arteta has not for over 2 years!

What happened, Arteta broke out last genetic superstar. It was all so easy to predict.

Not even going to watch the madrid games, seriously, and most likely Arteta will overplay Saka too.

Unless the management puts out a serious message that our players health is vital to AFC in the long run regarding title challenges and sell on values, Arteta will keep on keeping on, and players themselves will become leary of coming to AFC, regardless of our status, if they all know Arteta will break you too!

Arteta Out!
