1) red card was a pathetic decision. VAR confirmed it was for studs up above the ankle. Replay clearly showed no studs. Appalling appalling officiating
2) the foul itself was quite typical of the dumb tactical fouling which the players are obviously being coached to do. It’s a repeat of the Saliba situation earlier this season. The players need to be told to STOP assuming every opposition break is a nailed on goal and have a bit more confidence in the defense to mop up. These endless dumb tactical fouls are giving PGMOL easy material to attack us with. Just stop it. They were never scoring from that break, why bother?
3) same for all the time wasting and dissent. Timber now also has a booking for dissent. This is really dumb and he could also get himself sent off quite easily in the second half. Why make it so easy for PGMOL? Why?
4) Havertz again demonstrating our Jan transfer window is a total shambles. He could’ve had us 2-0 up and instead we go in 0-0 and a man down. Meanwhile this Jan we’ve been making unofficial gentleman’s agreement to buy a DM in the summer and have spent the last few days chasing an 18 year old lad from the Norwegian league to play in midfield. Honestly crap transfer window for the second time in a row leaves us in this position
Replay immediately confirmed it wasn’t studs it was a simple trip
Foul was pointless but a red for that and an immediately confirmed VAR call is disgusting
VAR regularly take 2 mins reviewing simple decisions but 5 seconds was enough for them to pretend that trip was studs up raking of the shins. APPALLING officiating
MLS is just a joke. I can’t really remember him making a mistake on the ball. So mature and smart in possession. Not to mention his strength. Serious talent.
One possible reason for slow January movement is the CL participation with so many clubs uncertain if they have a future or not in the competition . After Wednesday it’ll be sorted.
I like that as an excuse, just don't think it's an acceptable one, it's not like you start in January looking for options in the market especially when Saka has been injured for a while and we needed options even before his injury, probably should have targets earmarked much earlier but maybe that's just me
What an opportunity for MLS and Nwaneri to start together. Literally what dreams are made of. Here's hoping they take their chance today and make yet another claim towards a starting spot.
In the not so distant future (a matter of months really), I see them two + Saka regularly starting games for us. I couldn't be happier.
Get in. Massive result.
Ref aside, Raya is our best goalie since Seaman.
There’s a lot to unpack here

Our options on the bench are embarrassing especially considering we've maybe had all month to do that

LoL it's classic Arsenal though so no one should be surprised
Two GKs and four LBs on the bench loool
Mikel Merino misses out with a knock, not thought to be serious.
My eyes are on our captain today, Gabriel Magalhães.
