The major weakness in Arsenal's team/squad is the lack of a world class goal scoring striker.

Havertz is a very good footballer to have in the squad, but he is never going to be a 20 goal a

season striker. Nevertheless he is decent option to have in the squad, because of his versatility.

On the other hand I don't see any future for Jesus at Arsenal. He is supposed to be a striker, but

his goalscoring record in last two seasons is dreadful. Yes he is an excellent footballer, but that is

simply not enough particularly at the wages we are paying him.

Arsenal's major priority in the next two transfer windows has to be a centre forward who is a

"proven goalscorer". Does such a player exist in the current market place apart from Haaland?

That is the £100-150 million question which needs an answer.

Find that player and Arsenal will become title winners.

Very uncomfortable about the fact that we have heard little more about PGMOL since the snorting wanker was suspended. He was never the issue. The appalling standards of referring were. Yesrterday was bad again. And by the way the stadium was going mental with the (felt like) 45 minute VAR review! (By the way if its that close how is the Linesman flag raised? I thought on close ones you let play go on and look aftewards.) Players no protected (saw the foul on the Chelsea player in the bar beforehand, looked red to me). We have got to keep the elimination of PGMOL and the cadre of no-hopers on the agenda. Its got to go.

Rap's agenda in the mud. 😂😂😂.

Everyone else can see it but here are the stats to back it up.

Saka is a quality player by his own right. Odegaard gives him the space, the inside passes and the openings to do his magic.

I've got another question I wanted to ask.

Where are the ones that posted how Foden > Saka? I can imagine City fans being blinded to the obvious truth. Pundits as well that have been hating on Arsenal for decades. The difference in the skin colour, obviously. But a decent portion of our own fan base would also agree how Foden > Saka? Absolutely inexcusable. Shame on you.

The difference in the skin colour, obviously. 'Obviously'? Not sure that you can say that with any certainty.

I should have said "possibly". You're right.

Nwaneri keeps doing what he's doing, he'll be a monumental player for us. He'll definitely save us a lot of money going forward. Stunning talent.

The most promising players who have been developed in the club's youth programme

have been Tony Adams, Cesc Fabregas, Jack Wilshire, Smith-Rowe, Saka and now

Nwaneri.

Wilshire and Smith-Rowe sadly were both injury prone. Adams and Fabregas were not often

injured. Saka seems to be resilient. However, he is one of the most fouled players and there

is always concern whether he will suffer a bad injury.

Nwaneri looks like a young player who knows how to avoid a bad tackle and look after

himself.

The League Title is generally won by teams who have the best defence and concede the fewest

goals. Last season was an exception to that rule. Arsenal were considered to have best defence and conceded fewer goals than Man City.

However, this season Liverpool have conceded sofar only 6 goals in 11 games. Two of those goals

have been scored by Arsenal. So they have conceded only 4 goals in the other 10 games.

This is a major reason why I think that Arsenal will struggle to overtake them and not just the 9

points difference.

We conceded 7 goals while down to ten men

Well apparently Forest are a bad side that happened to beat Liverpool away. We all know how this type of form takes you. Just look at Bournemouth with their brace of scalps,

I’d go so far as to say the best technical performance of the season so far. The season up to now has been frustrations of dropped points , reductions in players through cards and injury and some mixed bag performances. We remain competitive which is the main thing

Modern football is shit

It’s shit

Let’s just be honest

Coaches and money are killing the game

Some of the quick interplay yesterday gave me joy. Winning under GG gave me joy but the football was generally speaking, more functional. Nostalgia provides rose-tinted glasses.

No bob

The game is clearly more dull and sterile

It’s functional

It’s about spaces and tilts and overloads

The flair and beauty is gone

The hordes of quality sexy footballers is gone

There are still players that are great to watch. For example, in yesterday's game, Saka and Odegaard combined beautifully, with skill and vision, did it have anything to do with tilts and overloads?

One can look back in time and pick out great players and teams but at the same time one's brain chooses to forget some of the turgid aspects of previous years.

Eleven games may sound too few to say who will or can win the or not. Yes, the journey is still far.

However, it is possible to lose the title after eleven games! Before the Forest game Arsenal were 9 points behind table toppers Liverpool who have a great opportunity to win Sunday and make it 9 points. The way Arsenal have been playing has not given us fans hope as there hasn't been anything convincing about them. Until we saw something to cheer about against Forest.

What matters is the consistency. If Liverpool maintain consistency throughout the season then the league is theirs. That's pretty difficult, but Liverpool isn't Arsenal. Liverpool may not throw away the golden opportunity if they reach March in the situation they are in now. Liverpool can't gift it with fife or three games to go. Even on the final day, Arsenal can bottle it.

Look at what Spurs did to City at the Etihad yesterday. Arsenal lack guts to face teams the way most EPL teams do. But for Adama Taraore's wastefulness Fulham oukd have beaten City silly weeks ago at home. If Arsenal were not afraid of City, they'd have humbled Guardiola's team right in front of home fans.

For me, I can't deceive myself, I have to see the level of consistency of Arsenal before I can restore my hope in them being able to chase for the title this season. For now, my position is that Arsenal will struggle for 4th place and if they're able to get top 4 that's great for them, the way they're performing so far.

If something different happens between now and January then we can talk about it. After all it's not over until it's all over.

'Arsenal lack guts to face teams the way most EPL teams do.'

Talking nonsense. It's nothing to do with guts, it's mostly to do with the coach's way of setting up(as well as playing three games with 10 men in the second half!).

'For now, my position is that Arsenal will struggle for 4th place and if they're able to get top 4 that's great for them'.

Why pass judgement now about where we will finish and then write this.....?

'If something different happens between now and January then we can talk about it.'

I agree with you. I looked at the next 5 to 6 ixtures and I thought Liverpool do have to prove their mettle now if they really want it. But then, it depends on Arsenal's consistency.

That is a hard run. But I still don't think they drop a lot of points. City are shambles. Liverpool have Newcastle's number because they counter attack well, and Everton are pony despite the derby win last season. I am not expecting more than a 3 points loss max.

Great post Pedro. My belief is that Merino will be keeping the left 8 role

warm for Nwaneri. By the end of this season our go-to midfield will be Rice-Odegaard- Nwaneri.

It’s even possible that next year Rice will be struggling to keep his role as Lewis Skelly pushes for his best role as a deep lying midfielder.
