yeah, liverpool aren't dropping points at Newcastle. The westham game might look more difficult if they hold on to this.

Dont expect much from RM, they are very unbalanced team

Expand full comment

RM also had a good, expected result yesterday, albeit against Leganes 3-0.

Mbappe and Bellingham scoring-- so maybe some momentum.

True talk but they have many players capable of big moments which is what the CL is about.

Hopefully Madrid will smash Liverpool and start their crises period

They lose to Madrid on Wednesday,

City rebound and smash them on Sunday

... then Newcastle grind out a win against them the following Wednesday at st James's park

Everton eke out a draw in the emotional last derby at Goodison park.

They will be back in the mud with everyone else and play under more pressure.

Southampton's stupid manager gifted them that win on Sunday.

I’m not sure we should be hoping for city to smash Liverpool. That totally reignites city’s season. An ugly draw is the best we can probably ask for

Expand full comment

A draw doesn't help us because Liverpool will just continue to roll on

We need Liverpool to have adversity to deal with

City beating Liverpool, brings us within 6 [2 game swing] points of Liverpool and one point behind city, if we beat West Ham.

City drawing with Liverpool leaves us 7 points [3 game swing] of Liverpool and on same points as city

No team that gets smashed 4-0 by spurs at home is winning the league.

Liverpool are the team to beat- the league is theirs to lose.

1 point from their next 3 EPL games is possible, but I guess 4 are realistic. if we manage to win ours, we will have halved the difference

their game against soton should be forwarded to the authorities to check unusual betting activity. what soton did was nothing short of criminal

Selling Iwobi and buying Vieira is a sackable offense only rivalled by selling ESR

Expand full comment

Selling Smith-Rowe was a mistake. The other recent departures were less so.

Vieira should never have been recruited. His transfer fee was ridiculous. He will leave on a freebie with a massive loss.

Just read that Sporting have won 11 out of 11 in their League and sit second in CL table, drawing one and winning the rest.

Statement win tomorrow for Arsenal then!

Our team will be at full strength, with players relatively speaking ‘rested’. Another Saka/ Odegaard master class with Havertz chipping in as well.

As long as Saka eats amala isu and avoids chips and haddock its unlikely he will suffer a bad injury.

Yesterday I made the case for Nwaneri to be given more game time and I made a comparison between his performance level and that of Charlie Patino.

Nwaneri may not be a 6 foot plus giant, but he has a physique which is strong for a player of his age. Patino by comparison despite being a taller player was relatively lightweight and immature.

Another feature of Nwaneri's game is his ability to "ride tackles". That is perhaps a major difference

between him and Saka. Saka is one of the most fouled players in EPL and I am frankly concerned that despite his resilience he will one day suffer a bad injury.

Arsenal have now got three outstanding offensive players in Odegaard, Saka and Nwaneri who can

form the nucleus of our attack over the next 5 to 6 years if they stay together.

If we can find the "natural" striker then Arsenal's future looks exciting.

1.Nwaneri was incredible however he came on after Forest legs were tired and with us in the lead the game was stretched. He is excellent when he has space to run and dribble in to. So this wasn't an advert to get him starting games. It is just a positive sign that we have someone excellently poised to sub in for Odegaard when we have a lead.

2. Saka was amazing as he had 2 weeks of relative rest. He's been overplayed by club and country. We need better cover for him than Sterling. More rest for Saka means more production from him in the games that count.

3. Calafiori doesn't seem well suited yet for the inverted role. A career CB means he is not used to receiving the ball back to the opponent's goal, turning around and quickly scanning the field to find the cutting pass. Zinny still much much better. Maybe only Timber should invert when Calafiori plays. Calafiori impacts the game when he carries the ball in to space with his head up and can see a pass develop.

4. Arteta deserves plaudits for resting Haavertz, Matinelli and allowing Rice more recovery time. Give Rice what time he needs to heal the toe. Playing on painkillers won't work for him and it'll delay his return to top form.

5. Jesus looks a shadow of what he was the first few months at AFC. We still need to persist with him to rest others.

Nwaneri at this stage needs more appearances as a sub. Playing full games at adult level is an entirely different level. Some players never actually progress beyond that.

As ‘ special sauce’ says. With Nwaneri,it wil be Brick by brick.Patience.

I think all of Philmar’s points are well thought out. He used ‘incredible’ and ‘excellent’ to describe Nwaneri. It’s obviously hard not to get carried away with his potential but his minutes need to be developed in a way that is best for him. We’re playing twice a week for the foreseeable future so I think he’ll get plenty of chances.

No doubt Liverpool are dropping enough points to be overtaken the bigger question is can we capitalise like we did last season and go on major run.

My take is we can everything has gone pretty against us thus far add in we easily had the stiffest opening schedule of big 5, we now enter a phase of premier league fixtures where the points can tally. 21 points on offer from now to Jan 1, feasible to see us take them all with United being the bogey team. But form wise we look to be meeting them a good moment. Buckle up this is going to get fun again.

Expand full comment

I am seeing Liverpool being bailed out by Salah to the worst team in the league. The pressure of leading the league is also a different sort of pressure than the first 12 weeks. 26 weeks to go.

They will drop 3 points in the next 5 games. We have to be perfect though. If we do we still have a chance.

Salah going topless showing potential suitors he’s in best shape of his life.

Can one take off his shirt in the Saudi league and not get stoned?

I’m not worried about Liverpool.

They have NINE games in December and their last five games at the back end of the season will settle them where they belong …and that’s not on top of the league.

We need a legit winger with pace and dribbling ability and I think we can still win this league.

Finding a legit striker in January is too big of an ask.

Expand full comment

they will drop way more than 3 points. if they manage to drop just 3 points until mid december they will officially be my favourite to win it. they will drop 5-8 depending on whether only luck runs out or having a bit of bad luck

Expand full comment

5 is a stretch. That means losing one and drawing one. I can may be see that happening. 8 isn't going to happen. That is 2 losses and a draw. Unless they implode, I can't see it.

This is a list of their fixtures. Man City at home, Newcastle away, Everton away, Fulham at home, and Spurs away till December 22.

Expecting them to lose twice and then and drawing one is a bit optimistic.

In the mean time we have to be perfect. We have some tricky games like United at home and Fulham away.

If we cut the gap in half by then though, we will be in the driving seat. Their end to the season is horrendous.

Now it makes sense, Pedro also knew Guardiola was leaving end of season and assumed his players would win the EPL one last time.

Meanwhile the guys at Liverpool didnt make the assumptions.

Expand full comment

Liverpool relying on wonders to keep their run is not the sign of a champion same way it wasn't when we were scoring winning goals with the last kick of the game in 22/23.

Big clubs achieve this type of wins, yes, but not in a every week basis. If you need miracles to win that often, then the reality is when your luck runs out and the tough times start, you aren't as good as you thought.

Pool's luck will end. Then reality will hit, there will be pointing fingers, older players, new manager. We just need to be there. Trust.
