ARSENAL BATTLE PREMIER LEAGUE FIXTURE MASTERS

by .

The pre-game story was focused on Mikel Arteta kicking off at the CORRUPT METHODS OF FIXTURE ASSIGNMENT that goes on in the Premier League.

Some are saying that we should stfu because we don’t have Europe, but for me, it’s more about the fact that:

  1. The Premier League said they wouldn’t make Wednesday teams play early games on Saturday
  2. The Premier League doesn’t do this to any other club apart from Arsenal
  3. The Premier League has done it twice to Arsenal and they’ll likey do it for the Spurs game

Arsenal has been unfairly treated all season. Bad VAR decisions, no COVID cancellations at the start of the season, some referees actually inventing ‘never been seen before’ rules for red cards. These fixture issues feel like just another attack on a club that seems to have less respect than other big teams.

We have an early kick-off tomorrow against an Aston Villa side that has had a week to prepare for Arsenal. Late Sunday kick-off, a top 2 team in the world on Wednesday, now an early kick-off on Saturday.

That is not good for fatigue and the bigger worry is that tired legs lead to soft tissue injuries.

I would much rather Arsenal’s special treatment be for things that work in our favour, but they never are.

Also, shout out to Conte:

‘If someone wants to speak about fair or unfair. We postponed the game, Tottenham-Arsenal, if you remember. I don’t. I don’t forget this, and I think that it’s not right to speak about fair or unfair’

Can you believe the luckiest manager in the league has the temerity to complain about luck? He had a preseason in December because they cancelled games, they forfeited Europe, and they regularly score a goal every other shot. He should most certain stfu.

On the good news front, Benny Blanco, Aaron Ramsdale, Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe have all been given call-ups. Let’s be honest here, all of them deserve to start. Ben White is the best English centre-back, Aaron Ramsdale is the best keeper, and it goes without saying Saka is the first name on the team sheet… and there aren’t many midfielders that have scored like The Smith this season.

I’m not sure there can be much doubt that the coaching at Arsenal is world-class these days. My only worry is that this sort of success adds games to the mixer I’d rather those players not be dealing with right now. Anyway, congrats to the boys, it is MASSIVE to have so many of our own in an England setup that gets to major finals.

The Villa game is going to be a good one, they’ll come at us, they’ll lean in on Coutinho, and they will make us suffer for stretches.

There’s the Emi Buendia story that runs as an undercurrent to the afternoon. Arsenal went hard for him, Emi Martinez leaned in… the rest is Martin Odegaard history. I know which player I’m happier with right now. I wonder how Emi B feels about the advice his friend gave him?

There’s always the chance that there might be a bad reaction to a painful loss in the week. But these kids have shown over and over again that they are made of sterner stuff. We’ll create chances tomorrow, big players will have a point to prove, the run for top 4 should be like blood in the water for a shark.

Big teams get over big shocks fast. It’s a lot to ask of young players, but the brutality of the Premier League means there’s literally no choice.

Spurs face West Ham. They have an extra day of recovery on the hammer who won in Europe. If we set the tone in the morning, that puts huge pressure on Spurs. If they lose that, it’s going to be very difficult for them. West Ham are good, but their form has been scrappy at best, they need this win. Their fans hate Spurs, they’ll want to keep in the mixer, so let’s see what Moyesy has up his sleeve.

Gonst,

“So what exactly is he going to be motivated for? To play 15 mins once a week?”

Pepe should be playing for the over 100K a week he’s getting, that’s he’s fucking job, he should do it well for even 30 seconds. You played as a sub for free and that’s understandable as you wasted your time.

‘’ ESR n Ode poor today’’

Is that the best you can come out with

GK

Artetas attacking solidity gradually developing having first established defensive solidity. That’s how you you evolve a team from shit to gold. The fluid interchange of the front 3 with Partey and Xhaka in patches proving this. Partey midfield dominance has been obvious in d past 5 games or so and he’s beginning to add the odd goal threat, finally living up to expectation after d initial teething problems. Finally Arsenal games are exciting to watch again and the top 4 hope will most likely materialize this season. Great times ahead.

Time Up

After Gonaterous explaining to us why Pepe is shit, even though ESR and Martinelli had the same treatment and where contributing. We’re only waiting for Pierre to educate us in the meaning of Eddie.

One thing that was disturbing with Wenger was that he only shook the opposing teams manager and stormed down the tunnel, no matter if we won or lost.
Really like that Tets always thank the away fans and players

Just as Liverpool showed that they were a cut above us a few days ago, today we showed that we are a cut above mid table sides like Villa. Totally assured and professional performance, and for the most part we stifled Villa and didn’t give Villa any opportunity to create chances or to have meaningful possession. It’s been a long, long time since Arsenal has been able to put together a sequence of 5 away wins. Really encouraging performances over the last few months and it’s clear that the team have gelled, gained solidity and consistency, and taken several steps… Read more »

Gonsterous- if he played ‘the game of his life’ for 15 mins he might be more in Arteta’s plans. His ‘one trick pony’ style of play does not suit our system. He’s not good enough to start ahead of Saka and he is very limited if you’re closing out games like today and he’s expected to manage possession well. I accept that it’s tough for anybody to be just a sub but ‘ to not be motivated’ is professionally unacceptable. With respect your experience, I assume it’s as an amateur, doesn’t compare with 20 mins for Arsenal! Time Up- I… Read more »

AFC I’m not complaining about the win. It was a great win. I’m complaining about us being a little too predictable which may come back to bite us in the arse. How is that complaining about the win? I don’t know if you watched the game but it wasn’t rosy. It was squeaky bum time just like against Watford. I’m not the one changing what happened during the game with comments like “we were in control the whole time” because that is not what happened today. I want to see us play like we did against Leicester. Seal the win… Read more »

Great observation. One thing Arteta has done is instilled this togetherness which includes the fans. Iced mpkeye culture change. I am a regular in the stadium and I and many others can confirm we feel an attachment to this team, the noise is far greater than This can remember. I think that can make a huge difference to results, because the fans do transmit to the pitch.

Doesn’t matter if pepe is getting 100k or 10k. He is still human with human emotions and behavior. Don’t need a pych degree to know it isn’t how much a person is paid. Its how motivated he is in an environment to thrive.

You could say the same thing about bale or Hazzard. They get paid twice as much at real than in their previous clubs how are their not twice as motivated or producing twice as many goals or assists? Its nothing to do with money and all to do with knowing if your contributions are valued.

GD

Are we gonna waste the few remaining prime years of Big TPartey 5 by pairing him with Xhaka.
Come on Edu give him a better midfield partner

West Ham always cause the Spuds big problems, a draw would be decent for us.

Gonsterous, you’re sounding a little spoilt!

We won an away game 1-0, our third game in just under six days having disappointingly lost on Wednesday evening. If we’d scored one more goal it would have been a straightforward win- Laca should have set up Odegaard’s for an easy finish. Grinding out results is the sign of a good team which we have undoubtedly become.

Five away wins in a row and you want more?

Northbanker

Another immense contribution from Partey today. Apart from the mad moment when he was defending the corner, he didn’t put a foot wrong

Gonsterous “I’m not complaining about the win. I I’m complaining about us being a little too predictable which may come back to bite us in the arse. I don’t know if you watched the game?” Are you taking the piss? You’ve complained about Pepe not playing, Arteta tactics, predictability & a few other things. If anything it’s you who didn’t watch the game – all this bollocks you’ve going on about. We controlled that game start to finish. Every pundit has praised our ability to tactically dominate that game. They had one shot on target. We did a professional job.… Read more »

Gonsterous- Pepe should find a new club where he would be appreciated more than he is at Arsenal. Your comments about Bale and Hazard are slightly ridiculous. The suggestion that the more money you get paid, the more motivated you should be is nonsensical. All I said was that if you are coming on as a sub and you’re not up for it, it’s clearly a problem as motivation should never be an issue for a professional player. I was more unhappy with Eddie’s lack of effort, Pepe didn’t lack effort he’s just not great defensively and his game management/… Read more »

Lmao, one fan surely enjoying the win. Why so angry?
If the win was great, why aren’t you out celebrating, instead of coming here and inspecting that no one say a single bad word about the game?

Gonsterous

Bob

That’s my point. It doesn’t matter how much you get paid. But people keep bringing up pepes wages to justify him having to be motivated.

ANY who, I’m outta here now enjoy the win lads.

Omozuafo Frank

The main point about today’s win is that we have three points in the kitty. Top four still achievable. Forward March.

Pierre

Superb performance…
