COMPLACENCY BE GONE

by .

Arsenal face Watford at Vicarage road on Sunday, the last time we visited there, Unai Emery allowed them to ship 31 attempts at our goal. The most we’ve ever conceded. It was a crime against the eyes. I STILL haven’t forgiven. I never will.

This time, we go there on a different mission, with a totally different vibe.

We defend well, we have been beating teams like Watford consistently all season, but there’s an added pressure of TOP 4 being within our grasp.

Neigh… in our hands.

Arsenal’s young players have another cup final on their hands. If we scrape a 1-0 win, I will be celebrating it HARD like it was a Cup Final win. Ruben Neves can whine all he likes, I won’t care. At this stage of the season, the only thing that matters is those precious 3 points. The margins are fine. We have the opportunity to take advantage of our cushion so the games against the bigger teams don’t matter as much.

… but don’t count thems chickens.

United dropped two points against them last week. Roy Hodgson is a good manager. The Premier League is absolutely brutal if you show up thinking the job is done.

The good news is Sarr is injured, he’s been excellent all season, anyone else in their side is a massive downgrade.

Arsenal only has one injury issue, that’s Tomiyasu who has messed up his OTHER calf. Still, you can’t knock the consistency of Cedric, he’s been great, and a fine deputy. Some say his crossing is sexier…

The big question is how the front 4 look. Does Martinelli rejoin the starting 11? He’s a player that is doing well on the pitch and on fire off it.

“Of course, Arsenal are a giant team. If I can, I’ll stay here my whole life. I want to conquer things, I already said, I want to stay here & win titles, with this wonderful crowd, my teammates”

OOOF, sexy talk.

What I like about this chat isn’t the lifer vibes. It’s the fact he’s part of the cult Arteta is developing. All the kids say the same thing, they are here to win big things, and they feel something special is brewing. The Cult of Arsenal Youth sounds good to me. Belief is half the battle. A lack of it is why we’ve been so shit for so long. Dream big and you will surprise yourself.

Back to it.

Does Arteta opt for ESR who is a goal-scoring machine or does he give Martinelli another run? There are a lot of games coming up over the next few weeks. Will Arteta rotate or go with what works?

This is a short post today. The only fear I have about tomorrow is that everything is going so damn well. Don’t let the wet fish of the Premier League slap

P.S. We WILL be going live on Sunday so tell your family to leave the internet pipes lose, because we’ll be filling them with some gooood content.

Mental how Citeh have made United their whipping boys this past decade odd.

So much for the ‘noisy neighbours’. Fergie got out at the right time.

“Gutted we didn’t get Vlahovic over the line, as there’s a serious shortage of top centre forwards we could realistically target.”

Yep, as we discussed before he is too drawer. But you are right, a striker s going to like the idea of playing with these lads around him. Get someone strong and mobile and it would make a big difference. DCL is s being mentioned again

Absolutely love seeing TV pundits who were claiming United were a title contender at the start of the season squirming and moaning about the state of this United team. Their hubris shattered in to pieces.

A decent CF should comfortably get 20 PL goals a season, just need to need to choose the right piece of the jigsaw – mobility, work rate and a finish. Xhaka upgrade ought to be an easier fix.

I also like the idea of Tyler Adams as an additional CM who can also play RB.

Naija+soccer

Lacazette being clinical indirectly, 6 assists in his last 8 matches.

Sorry if that stat is mentioned already.

AFC
Why’s DCL still being mentioned in 2022?
He’s crocked most of the time and about average when he’s fit enough to play.

We have to get the striker position right, better to leave it unfilled than to buy ponies.

I’m not a big fan of lace but the man is playing that captain’s role brilliantly.
That he’s putting his body on the line says a lot about his character since he’s gone in May.

Gary Neville and Micah Richards having a barney on sky!!!
Neville telling him you’re ranting emotionally and Richards
What just because you’re connected to utd doesn’t mean my opinion isn’t relevant.
Fucking hilarious

David.D

Richards saying we have the momentum and are slight favourites while Nevilie thinks Utd can still do it.
Still lots of twists and turns but doesn’t sit well with me that we are now being seen as favourites.
Pressure will build.
Hoping we can deal with it.

Please no to DCL.
Too injury prone.
Too expensive

David.D

We should be considering Darwin Nunez , Luka Jovic, someone of that ilk under the radar but potential to grow.
Not feeling Isak.either. again too expensive.
Hope we give Mika Biereth a go as well as Balogun a go next season.
Think they could surprise us.
Would have loved Jota. What a player
