CONTE FEEDING THE ARSENAL PROPAGANDA MACHINE

by .

This is an Anotonio Conte love piece today.

What a guy.

The man so many called the most elite human to ever have graced the planet has spent all week propping up my Arsenal propaganda machine and to be honest it has been a thing of beauty.

Don’t like my opinion that having the youngest team in the league makes things harder at the top, ask Conte:

‘Tottenham are seeking young players they can develop and grow, not players who are ready. That is the issue.’

You think top 4 is a given because we’re Arsenal FC and that is all you need? Ask Conte:

“The quality in this league is very high. There is not much space for teams to become the top teams, every single team wants to improve. Not only Tottenham but Arsenal, Leicester and West Ham.

You think that 2 years to get Arsenal back on track was too long? You wanted a rockstar manager to fix it instantly? Ask Conte:

“We are doing a lot and I am realising, being inside the situation, that it will take time and patience. There are many young players, even at their first experience in the Premier League, who need to gain experience and increase their level.”

You think there are easy games in this league that are ‘should win’ games? Ask Conte:

“Even Aston Villa, Newcastle, teams like Brighton, like Wolverhampton. They want to improve and in this moment, we have to fight with these. But not with the top teams – but we need to have the desire to fight.”

Arteta said these things last year and everyone said he was making excuses, now the most winningest manager in the whole of the world is out here whining about the challenge of managing a Spurs squad most would say has better tools to fight for top 4 than Arsenal FC.

The Premier League is tough. A lot of very vocal fans haven’t caught up to that yet. There are no shortcuts in 2022.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Varane, and Jadon didn’t shortcut anything for United, they just highlighted how dim it is to buy off-strategy. Ben White, Odegaard, and Ramsdale were mocked in the summer, now they’re the target of ire from jealous rival fans.

Ralf Rangnick is a great talent, Arsenal fans feared the worst when he arrived, but no amount of genius can turn a toxic culture on its head and make players fit a system they weren’t bought for. Again, when Arteta was dealing with toxic characters, the story was ‘this is an Arteta issue’, United are on their 4th manager since Moyes and they still haven’t realised the problem is the character of their players.

Spurs had the most perfect manager they’ll ever sign in Poch, he told the club there would be a dip, but once they got over it, they’d get back to the top. Levy shit his pants, sacked at the first opp, hired in a shortcut manager, fans thought Jose would bring them the league, he crashed the club. Then they hired Nuno, he crashed. Now they’re onto Conte and he has no idea what to do without a massive chequebook.

… £20m a year and all he’s done is complain. Imagine how those players feel? Mwhahaha!

Back to it: It is very hard to shortcut success when the teams at the top are sustainably run by adults that get strategy, vision and philosophy.

I love it.

You can argue with a blogger all you like, but when that blogger is singing off the same hymnsheet as Anotonio Conte, you have to get in that comments section and apologise for the slander you’ve thrown at me this season.

Ok, that is me done, I’ll see you in the comments. x

No freakin way…………

Conte ladies and gentlemen. He brings this to a club. Fk…………………

Time Up

Can’t believe it.

InsideRight

City have been one dimensional. Pep hasn’t changed the approach even though it isn’t working. I can see where Arteta gets his rigidity from. Crab football around the outside of the box, a cross and cleared away. At the back City have been appalling. No shape, not tracking the runners and ripe for being hit with a smash and grab.

LoveSausage

Not a bad result from a team managed by a bum/terrorist/arsonist who needs a massive check book to achieve anything.

Le Sauce

Can you really believe it. I’ve stopped watching the game, what stupid defending was that from citeh right after the equalizer

Saladin

Fuck you Pep

Time Up

City defence is embarrassing.

TR7

As good as Pep is, Conte still has his number.

David.D

Can’t fucking believe it.
Why are city so fucking dumb stupid when it comes to fucking spurs

You’re criticizing the best manager in the world and about to win the EPL by a land slide. I mean…

Nigel Tufnel

Glad people are seeing that when he’s not rusty, Cedric is more than serviceable as a backup. A good professional with experience.

Don’t know why so many were screaming he needs to go……..Much more important that we got rid of Bellerin.

….
Watching Man city…..they were dominating a far inferior team, having all the possession, but against the parked bus, they were lobbing up loads of crosses.

Not too different from us.

S23

Oh dear,I really dont bother watching other teams, but this Manchester City performance is really poor,it seems to me to be just cross and hope for the best,De Bryne cant seem to run anymore,it is reminiscent of one of our shockers, where we crossed the ball over and over.

Conte is as elite as it gets. The only one that can match Pep and Klopp. So annoying we are here with a project when Conte could have made us compete in just 2 seasons. Even if he was to leave in the 3rd or 4th season, he would have left us in a fantastic place. Similar to where Inter is right now and Chelsea before that.

Elite manager.

Nigel Tufnel

Xhaka knows that if he puts on the armband it will instantly bring up controversy and a re hash of the past drama. He wants no part of it.

As long as he plays like today, with the effort he always gives, that’s fine with me.

Hi TR7 Thanks for responding. You may already be familiar with Rinus Michels and the Dutch ‘Total Football’, if not, I would highly recommend watching the ’74 World Cup if you get time. It was revolutionary, and a style of football never seen on these shores (as you know, our football culture has been rooted in the long ball, still seen in the PL today). It’s where JDP originates, and of course, the Netherlands greatest exponent of this, Johan Cruyff, took it with him to Spain and completely redefined Barcelona. In essence, I agree with you about Lionel Messi, but… Read more »

Yup. City usually roll teams over because of the quality of their players. But tonight they were one dimensional. Pep did nothing to change the approach when it became clear Spuds would collapse into a 6 man back line with 3 pressing hard and 1 free to start a counter. Virtually nothing went through the middle. Conte had them well drilled and made them run their legs off, meanwhile Pep kept doing the same thing over and over and had no response.

David.D

Ridiculous
Absolutely fuming and my team isn’t even playing
Fucking hate spurs
City just get so fucking stupid when they play them.
We should at least fucking be 5 points clear of them.
Get back to 2 2 then just stupidly give up possession.
Just had a feeling they would score again.
Fucking idiots city.

Chris

Great result for us today, a win is a win, 3 points all that matters really for the rest of the season.

Looks like Conte out tactic Pep the way he did a few years ago at Etihad when he was with Chelsea. Irritating. But as a neutral in the title race it opens that up again at least.

raptora

InsideRight,
Yeah, I agree with you. It’s why he last won the UCL more than 10 years ago. And why he lost to Tuchel’s Chelsea on the final last May. He is really robust with his system, not very adaptable. And he pays for it in the cups while he dominates the league football.

Nigel Tufnel

In games we dominate and get plenty of corners, we should try short corners once or twice. Can’t hurt. They were dominant defending those corners today.. that tall defender especially. Frustrating.

I still can’t get over the handball that got brushed off. Even the commentator said it was a pen… that’s rare.

David.D

That win for spurs worries me.
This was a gimme for us to go 6 points clear, 5 at worst.
And they beat city!!
They can’t be discounted.

David.D

Just shown our penalty again.
How the fuck does our handball penalty not even go to fucking var.
We are really getting fucked over

Cezan Patel

Watching bein sports over in Qatar, Andy Gray and Richard Keyes are so much better than the northern twats Nev and Carra. No bias asked the honest question why do city get that and arsenal don’t?
The arsenal penalty shout has a higher hand and it makes no sense.
They got a response from var that, “handball is subjective”.
Which roughly translates to screw arsenal as much as possible and we’ll try and apply things fairly for the Northern clubs.

Interesting.

InsideRight

Nigel Tufnel – “In games we dominate and get plenty of corners, we should try short corners once or twice. Can’t hurt. They were dominant defending those corners today.. that tall defender especially. Frustrating.” This is the point me and a number of other people have made about the lack of in-game management. When it isn’t working the obvious thing is to try something different. Arteta never does. Against Burnley it was a couple of dozen crosses and only two reached a red shirt. Today it was the corners where the same delivery found one of the three big Brentford… Read more »

Pedro.. Your write up are so beautiful but why can’t you just focus on Arsenal.. Leave Tot’ham or Emery or Conte out of this.. Just focus on Arsenal and every positivity out of Arsenal.

Nigel Tufnel

From twitter:

“I keep on watching Xhaka and the way he plays and fights for every ball in our team. If you don’t like him fine, but atleast appreciate his effort when he plays well.”

Good tweet.

Gonsterous

Great game and a great victory. 3 points secured.

ESR was brilliant so was ode and our CBS.
Cedric had a great game too. I know people will praise Tierney but when it came to the final third, Cedric was much much better than the high crosses coming in from Tierney.

Laca is shot of confidence and sadly we have to contend with him for the next 4 months up top. Will he ever score again? Maybe a pen.

Gonsterous

We really need a better captain next season.

Can’t give it to injury prone Tierney. A captain that breaks down if he plays 3 times a week.

Xhaka is another bad choice. Partey not consistent enough.
Saka and ESR not yet ready I suppose.

Gabriel would be a good choice and I would take him over ramsdale since I don’t like GK captains. They have no influence in the match.
