AUBA OFFERED EXIT + ARTETA WILL BITE AND SCRATCH FOR ARSENAL

by .

Things are NOT looking good for Auba. Man has shamed his nation with his elitist behaviour. The partying pre-AFCON, the COVID likely because of the partying, and the strong rumours from Gabonese media that the player got totes wasted and had a fight with security at the team hotel when he brought babes back.

Not cool.

Still, goals are the prime currency in football, so hopefully someone comes in with a deal for him this January. CBS is reporting that there’s an offer from Saudi to take over his contract. That’d be epic, though a little sad, because that really is a retirement deal.

Any exit leaves us short.

Still no links.

So let’s see where we go there, there’s just no way we trimmed our squad this hard if we don’t have something lined up. The presser today would indicate we’re not looking to make junior players senior with return loans.

Arteta did his pre-game presser and basically said that Arsenal has been honest. He intimated that other clubs have not been honest (Liverpool). He also said that he would fight with nails and teeth to defend the honour of the club from those that are lying about us. I do like his aggressive approach when he talks about the club, he’s always reinforcing that we are massive, that hypes the fans. Matt on the podcast said we’re moving away from the victim culture Wenger allowed in the backdoor. No complaining, no excuses, we’re moving forward and no one can stop us.

Juxtapose that against the Thomas Tuchl presser last night where he was snappy, whiny, and full of excuses. Can you imagine being the Chelsea manager and complaining about your massive squad being mentally fatigued? His body language was horrendous. I wrote at the start of the season that Thomas is very good at being good when things are good… when the pressure arrives, he starts throwing elbows. Just look at how he spoke about Lukaku at the weekend? The fans that were clutching their pearls when Arteta criticised Nico weren’t anywhere to be seen when the veteran Tuchel threw his £100m striker under the bus.

Liverpool is in the media saying that Arsenal are favourites in the second leg of the league cup. Honestly, they can fuck off with views like that. They are the favourites by a margin and we all know it. The important point for Arsenal fans is that we are not a million to one to get binned. If the fans show up, the players play at 100, and the luck rolls our way… who knows what could happen.

I just want to see another performance where we leave it all on the table.

Arteta wants the fans to put on a performance.

“The [fans] are able to change the energy, the momentum of the game, give a massive lift to the players and give them confidence so if they can drive the team the way they have been doing recently, that would be incredibly helpful to give us the best possible chance to get in the final,” Arteta said.

“When you have your people next to you, and the way they have been, how encouraging, supportive, loud, it really creates a bond with the team and makes a huge difference.

“It is one of the best atmospheres I’ve seen for many, many years at the Emirates and I’ve been in a few of those so I can just thank the fans for their support that they are giving the team.

Clearly, he knows what The Kop atmosphere gives the Liverpool players. One of his big ambitions when joining the club was to get the fans back on side. Well, he’s done that, home and away, win or lose, the Arsenal fans have been magnifico this season and there’s no chance that’ll stop tomorrow.

If you’re going, bring your BIG voice.

Ok, we are SHORT on content today, so I’ll see you in the comments. x

Don’t worry the season is 38 games long. Not one absolute fluke.

London gunner

I think the difference between us and Spurs come end of season will be decided by the derby games. Each of them will be a six pointer.

I think will need to win both to finish ahead of them. We will be inconsistent and blow and hot cold. Spurs will be consistently shit but scrape wins

Samesong

The thing is Kane seems to be getting his mojo back and when Son comes back they maybe shit but they will beat teams.

IAT-Robbie

My god. Brentford are seriously underperforming their xG this season.

Buzzy

If United score two more they go above us on GD..lol

Samesong

Bad evening for us.

raptora

God bless Partey is coming early, with all due respect for his nation. We need him so bad.

Habesha Gooner

The NLD is a 6 pointer now. We cannot lose. I would even say we need to win. Spurs are getting lucky and scraping wins. I am sure it won’t continue till the end of the season. But we need to be on our A game to get top 4. We can’t have any blips like the United and Everton games from now on. A

David Smith

Luck doesn’t last forever unless there is something else going on, and Spurs are just lucky

Negative Nigel

Not very Spursy tonight.Still there will be other occasions I’m sure.

Dissenter

“Lucky wins” still put points on the table
I understand that we have to rationalize this but hmmmmm

David Smith

Erm, have you actually watched some of their games “Robert Pires” ?

Dissenter

We beat Leicester away to so it’s not the end of the world
Have to find some positives

Brenda needs to be fired

Mr Serge

Robert pires talking shit lol what a plum

Negative Nigel

Leicester had more holes in them than a dartboard.Spudz should have been 4-1 by half-time.2nd half they got lucky but so did Leicester.Brenda blew it.like he does most things.Spuds & Kane also have the evil eye over Leicester so Prob expected in truth. No big deal.

raptora

I watched the Manure game in the first half and the spud game in the 2nd half. From what I read in here re the spud game, it was full of criticism towards Leicester’s defence lol.

Rich

Spurs on course for 72 points
Arsenal 66
West Ham 63
United 63
Leicester 50

I’d be surprised if there was more than a few points separating 4th-7th at the finishing line

Thought Leicester would edge their way back into the mix, they’ve got the quality to string 4-5 consecutive results together, but they’d need to be remarkably consistent to find a way back from here

If Chelsea beat Spurs, and we beat Burnley at the weekend, we’ll both be on course for 68 points

It’s going to be fine margins

AFC Forever

Spurs have to go to City and Liverpool, the two hardest away grounds.

Don’t worry, Spurs aren’t a great side they got lucky tonight against a very weak Leicester side missing key players. Leicester should have shut the game down, that really was naive..

Venga, Dani

And Chelsea AFC forever.

Venga, Dani

@Pedro – come on dont be silly. Since Conte took over Spuds only Man city have picked up more points. Theyve clearly improved

G8

Back to 6th in a flash
That’s why we should never brag being 4th in January..unless its Le Grove Tr4phy!

AFC Forever

Pedro

Robert Pires and Pete have suddenly dropped in. They’ll all be booking their open top bus ride tomorrow

Venga, Dani

If we manage to get Auba off our wage book this window that alone will be like a new signing. Kolasinac gone, Mari gone, and Auba – we’d have so much room for signings.

IAT-Robbie

“Name at least 5 CMs better than Tielemans who is gettable for us? One game doesn’t mean shit. I still think he is a very good player.”

Habesha, you’re correct, 1 game doesn’t mean anything.

But as for other CM options:

Franck Kessie
Fabian Ruiz
Lorenzo Pellegrini
Lucas Paqueta
Mikel Merino
Carlos Soler
Ryan Gravenberch

I would say these guys have, at minimum, similar ability to Tielemans and can be convinced to join Arsenal for the right numbers.

David Smith

We should leave “ Robert Pires” to his DVDs

AFC Forever

Rich

Very true. January signings could make all the difference. Going to be plenty of twists & turns yet.

David.D

Absolutely pig sick
Fucking hate Spurs.
How the fuck did they win that.
Harvey Barnes Greedy cunt he squares that chance instead of going for glory and its game over
This was a game I definitely had them dropping points in.
And they took all 3.
Bad night for us especially with those other cunts also winning
Genuinely worried we might not get top 4.
Minimum margin for error now.
Spurs confidence will be so high now.
Cunts

David Smith

How sad do you have to be to go onto an Arsenal blog and pretend you’re a fan. I can’t begin to imagine how hurt they must be knowing they have such an embarrassing trophy record. All they’ve got are those Videos & black/white photos to remind them.

IAT-Robbie

“Luck doesn’t last forever unless there is something else going on, and Spurs are just lucky”

I agree but I don’t even think it’s down to luck anymore. I just checked Leicester v Spurs’ H2H and this is actually the third match in 3 years that Spurs have won against Leicester from a deficit position.

13 May 2018 – Tottenham Hotspur v Leicester City (5-4)
23 May 2021 – Leicester City v Tottenham Hotspur (2-4)
19 Jan 2022 – Leicester City v Tottenham Hotspur (2-3)

We’ve done the same thing to Spurs a lot in the last decade.

David Smith

Very true AFC. Guess he can go back to his shrines to Juande Ramos and George Graham , their last trophy winning managers

Mr Serge

It’s still Jan plenty of footie still to play

raptora

Should add Bruno Guimaraes to the list as well. Probably Douglas Luiz too.

Mr Serge

Pedro what’s happening with Jack ?

Mr Serge

I will be shocked if he signs

Rich

The only thing more erratic than some football fans moods, are their opinions….

Left Testicle

Please no, not Jack Wilshere. He was bang average when he left.

IAT-Robbie

“Should add Bruno Guimaraes to the list as well. Probably Douglas Luiz too”

Even better 🙂

Habesha Gooner

IAT- Robbie Of all the names you mentioned there, I don’t think any one of them are actually better than him. Gravenberch has potential, Fabian Ruiz and Kessie might just about be on par with him if they are in form. Paqueta, Soler and Pellegrini aren’t in his class at all. And Merino just found his feet at Socieadad but he failed at Dortmund and Newcastle. That is what I said though, there aren’t a lot of CMs under 25 that are better than him that don’t play for a really huge club. Barella at inter, Dejong and Pedri at… Read more »

Habesha Gooner

Bruno G is a real talent. He is probably as good as Tielemans. Douglas Luiz is a good player but he isn’t close to Tielemans level yet. People disrespect Tielemans because he plays for Leicester. He would start at United, Arsenal, Tottenham and maybe even Liverpool. That is how good he is. Ask Leicester fans how highly they think of him.

Alan

Leicester (1.88) 2-3 (4.56) Tottenham

They deserved the win but you have to put it down to rustiness from Leicester and injuries. Spurs are still short of quality and cohesion

AFC Forever

Be pleased for him if Jack has found a club. He’s too good not to be playing somewhere.

Br0wnie

Spuds have a tough league schedule for several weeks. Chelsea (L) , Brighton (T), Southampton(W), Wolves (T), City (L) , Leeds (T) , Everton (W) , United (T) , West Ham (T). I’m not sure there will be much for them to celebrate. I don’t see them winning more than 2 maybe 3 if they beat Leeds in Leeds or Wolves at home

IAT-Robbie

“Fabian Ruiz and Kessie might just about be on par with him if they are in form”

Habesha,

It’s interesting you picked those two. Those are the two that I actually think are more complete and better midfielders than Youri. The failure thing can be overlooked (IMO) because Youri, himself, flopped at Monaco in Ligue 1, which prompted his loan to Leicester, where he had a sensational half-season. Youri being a better option is subjective (IMO). His EPL experience doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll be a sure thing at Arsenal.

David.D

Brownie
What do the letters in brackets mean?

IAT-Robbie

Oh sorry. In My Opinion

David.D

Tricky fixture list for Spurs but I can unfortunately see them winning a fair few of those games such is their never ending good fortune.
Son will be back soon for then too.
We need to take care of our games and hopefully everything will work out well in the end

raptora

Habesha I respect you a lot. You are a Tielemans fanboy though lol. He’s a very good player. Not excellent and not top class. You’re overrating him. He’s tidy but as I said, jack of all trades, master of none. To each their own ofc.

Habesha Gooner

IAT-Robbie Yeah he was poor at Monaco. But since he has been in the premier league, he has been consistently one if the best CMs in the league. And that’s why I rate him. His levels have been very good for a few seasons. My point was there are no 5 gettable CMs that are better than him. Ruiz is good. But you will have to break the bank to sign him. Kessie on top form is good but he hasn’t been as consistent as Tielemans the past few seasons. I am not saying he is a sure thing. But… Read more »

Quite the turnaround from Raptora here, even by his standards:

Tielemans went from being garbage, to a very good player, inside 1hr and 35 minutes

Habesha Gooner

Rap
You see a Jack of all trades. I see a player that can do a lot of things competently. He won’t be Fabregas or Debruyne but he can be a very good player. He needs to do better defensively though. That I agree. But he won’t be a liability as much as Xhaka has been for years.

Venga, Dani

wonder about a cheeky 40 million bid for Lukaku. haha

Pierre

Leicester were very naive in injury time, nothing wrong in trying to kill the game off, but flooding players forward and then getting caught on the break is criminal….especially in injury time. It reminded me of the good old days when Ramsey would go glory hunting in the closing stages when we were a goal up without a 2nd thought of the gaps he was leaving behind.. Arteta has cured that part of our game, we rarely get caught on the break now if we are holding a lead, if anything we do sit too deep trying to hold on… Read more »

IAT-Robbie

“But few players have matched the level he has been at Leicester the past few seasons that we can realistically sign. He is still 24 too”

Habesha,

That is a very good point in Youri’s favour.

Though bear in mind this. Both Ruiz and Tieleman’s contracts end in June 2023, (Kessie’s ends June 2022). Tielemans was signed for £40.5m, Ruiz for £27m. Tielemans earns £100k+ weekly, Ruiz earns £50k per week. I am willing to bet Ruiz would be the cheaper signing between the two. Especially when considering the Prem tax Leicester would levy on top.

Why does Roberto Sanchez name rarely come up? Seems to have really turned his career around. He’s spoken about or at least the press have said he’s talked about Arsenal.

Rich

Renato Sanchez injury history, there’s 2 pages

We’d be crazy to go anywhere near him

David.D

Thanks Brownie

bacaryisgod

Pierre

Absolutely right-Leicester didn’t deserve the win but they threw it away with reckless play.

Globalgunner

Renato Sanchez will be this decades Jack Wilshere. Plays 5 games a season and legendary will be written about him. Very average player anyways

LoveSausage

Conte has had a real impact so far. I didn’t think even he could make something out of that steaming pile of shit of a squad. But he has them picking up points even while they play shit football.

raptora

Rich, This is me before Tielemans mistake: raptoraJanuary 19, 2022 20:18:46 Tielemans is a jack of all trades, master of none. He’s a good player. I don’t think he’ll ever be top class or elite. And this is me later: raptoraJanuary 19, 2022 22:56:01 He’s a very good player. Not excellent and not top class. In-between he gifted Spuds the 3 PTS in the last play of the game, which, imagine, made me rage and upset at him so I passionately called him garbage. Everyone getting scared of Spuds now. They will not finish ahead of us. They have had a years worth of luck in 2 months.

3 games in a row with opponents down to 10 men.

A last minute winner a few weeks back. Then this today. They are going to drop a lot more points this season. Many more than us. They are heading downhill. We are climbing. Watch the performances. I shouldn’t have to explain it.

Stop worrying.

Zacharse

i watched most of the spuds game. a back line of sanchez, tanganga and davies does not worry me.
that ending was really unfortunate, leicester defenders wind up bergwijn, he gets yellow for lashing out at the cb’s, minute later he’s popping in the 1st, neither of the goals that good, schmeichel shoulda gotten to the ball on the 2nd and instead just held back, shoulda wound up a draw

Pedro

‘Arteta only likes players like him’

The players:

Stinger for those that thought they were being insulting.

Tom

Funny how a perspective changes with an agenda.
Leicester score those two goals against us and 90% of posters, myself included, say they had a horseshoe up their ass with those lucky deflections.

We want Spuds to lose so suddenly Leicester we’re unlucky, when in fact they were comprehensively outplayed and the game should’ve been beyond them at half time.
I hope this wasn’t the beginning of Kane’s revival because he was on fire today.

Tom

“Everyone getting scared of Spuds now. They will not finish ahead of us. They have had a years worth of luck in 2 months.“

Looks to me like the only person getting scared on here is you Nigel for predicting Conte would blow them up.
Most level headed observer didn’t like him going to Tottenham only because he was an obvious upgrade on Nuno, that’s all.

Tom

Unoni, let me get you up to speed pal….. I’m supposed to be the resident Leicester fanboy, if you listen to CC and Pedro….. so not sure how that’s gonna work out now lol.

So according to your hot take it isn’t enough to want the Spuds to lose, which I always do, but one also has to create a false narrative after their games too?

As you were…

Steveyg87

Call it arrogance if you will but we should not be fearing United or Spurs, if anything, Chelsea needs to start looking over their shoulder. Ask yourself this, do you still shit yourself when the opposition is in the final 3rd? I dont, we are defensively solid. Our boys up front are confident, they stood shoulder to shoulder with City. We need to be looking forward now. I would call this a critical time for our club, we are in the process of kicking on a gear, we are not the marshmallow boys anymore and our rivals are taking note… Read more »

Cape Maker

Fuck Spurs they wont make Top 4.

That you can take to the Bank

Samesong

Look we can all say that spurs or United won’t make top four. But that’s just wishful thinking.

There definitely isn’t no guarantee we will make it either. There is going to blips from all three teams along the way and it will be interesting to see how we cope with these pressures.

Sid

Now that Partey is back, there should be No excuses for Not achieving top 4

Sid

Why are they investigating the guy who was trusted with the keys?
Thats the key question.

Unoni

Spurs have still to go away to Chelsea Liverpool city and United. There will be points dropped there certainly.

kjelli

From my point of view Aubamayang is looking more and more like the former arsenal
player and pathetic human being E. adebayor.. Can’t handle the fame or glory.. Its important
to scout players personality as well as his talent. Auba is a rotten apple in the Arsenal
barrel and should leave.

Unoni

Chelsea have the club World Cup and the champions league and the fa cup to contend wirh, while their form bombs.

United still have to go away to city Liverpool us and West Ham. While playing champions league football. While their form staggers.

We really aren’t going to get a better chance than this
All of our worst fixtures are over bar spurs. We’ve gone away to all the top 4 now

Unoni

Oh shit no. We have chelsea away. Can’t lose that

Left Testicle

Did you have money on Xhaka receiving a yellow? If so, you can take that to the bank.

Chris

Got a good feeling about tonight. Think we are going to edge through to the final, bit like we did against Chelsea a few years ago. 2-1.

TR7

The race for top 4 will go down to the wire. Man United look very poor but somehow they have managed to pick up points. The moment Conte took the Spurs job it was pretty much expected that they would be in the reckoning too. We can only focus on what we can do to get in to top 4. In my view it is absolutely essential that we get a new striker and a new central midfielder. If we continue with Laca who is good but not clinical and Xhaka in central midfield, we will suffer sooner or later.… Read more »

Sid

How will Xhakalson tackle the allegations?

I bet it will be clean

You heard it here 1st!

Habesha Gooner

Spurs have been better under Conte. But tget still have picked up more points than they should have through last minute winners or a red card. They were better against a depleted Leicester team last night too. But they still have the crappiest team out of all the top 4 contenders. Take out Kane, Son and may be Moura then their entire team is midtable. They aren’t going to out score everyone all season. United have the quality if they get pogba back and they start playing Vandebeek in midfield. But Ragnick has really been struggling to something out of… Read more »

Pierre

Should Bergwijn have received red for raising his hands to an opponent just before he scored his 2 goals…

An angry , aggressive push to the chest of the Leicester defender that knocked him off his feet (though he did exaggerate the fall) would often result in a red .

I doubt if an Arsenal player would gave been spared a red in similar circumstances.

Samesong

Habesha

Blips also means no red cards, less individual errors. Our best performance this season was against the best team in the league. But we still managed to come away from that game with zilch.

It’s all about putting points on the board.

Habesha Gooner

Same song
Performances never lie. If you perform consistently, then the table won’t lie at the end of the season. Man city was one game. Teams will have great performances but still manage to lose. But if we perform to the level we have done from the Southampton game to the Man City game then we are definitely getting 4th. I agree about the discipline though. We need to keep 11 players on the pitch every time. But consistent performances won’t lie at the end. Only few lucky have ever gotten their targets by flying it all year.

Habesha Gooner

Bu fluking it all year*

Unoni

Pierre

It’s a valid point but what can you do? We have to focus now on winning every single game in front of us. Our contenders all seem to have a worse fixture list than us. We have no europe and no fa cup so this is an advantage. We have a settled squad and manager and we have our identity, which spurs United and chelsea are yet to establish to the same extent
We have a fantastic chance this year

Graham62

What is it with Brendan Rodgers and his teams chucking things away?
Consistent pattern developing.

Unoni

We must make sure we stay disciplined though. Habesha is right. Too many silly moments with a rush of blood to the head

gnarleygeorge9

If The Arsenal is the elephant in the room, tottenham is the pimple on its Arse.

The opposition voyeurs & trolls are coming, that is to be expected. No amount of shite from them can derail the Red & White Juggernaut. I know this.

But to the spurs voyeurs, I know your there in your 2 down, 2 ups on moms lap tops & wifi. Tottenham last won in ‘61, & its been 61 years since your wretched club won. And it will be another 61 years till you win another. How’s that for symmetry you lilywhite plonkers!

TR7

“Performances never lie. If you perform consistently, then the table won’t lie at the end of the season.”

Brighton and United positions in the league show that performances don’t always reflect in league table.

Unoni

Just listened to the cesc podcast on arseblog
Epic and very bitter sweet
He did mention that Wenger didn’t get as much sway with money as people thought as I was about to blame him for not doing more to keep cesc. To bring xabi Alonso and to build around then and rvp but after hearing that all I can express is sadness there wasn’t more given to keep those absolutely world class players at arsenal and supply them with with they needs to take the club to the next level again.

kjelli

it seems to me that Vhlavocic is doing for Fiorentina what Pepe should be doing for us !!?

Graham62

Unoni

Players will never come out and say it as it is.
The money scenario may or may not be true but it’s how you go about things that really counts.
I’ve had my say on Wenger and still hold those same beliefs.

Graham62

Slightly concerning that, according to GX , Arteta never speaks to him about his red cards.

How does that work then?

Must go down well with the other players.
