Unai Emery and his troubling microaggressions

by .

I was going to write you out a Monday morning banger, then I realized we have two weeks until the next game… bad times ahead.

For blogging, it’s Dry January without anyone to listen to your empowering story.

Traffic wise, it’s like we’re Rolf Harris at next years Glastonbury.

The comments section becomes the part of Hyde Park corner where the soap-boxers get arrested for a excrement related offences (sorry guys, it’s true).

It’s so boring that sometimes I resort to courting attention by click-baiting certain fandoms with fake headlines.

OZIL COMPILATION THAT PROVES HE IS GOD

It’s desperate times.

So I’m saving all my prose up so I can spread it thinly enough to keep you interested.

In the meantime, I made a SOLO podcast for you to listen to. I figured people stomach ebooks for 19 hours at a time, you could easily do 35 minutes of me arguing with myself and ultimately resolving the differences.

Give it a go and I PROMISE that I will come back with real people for Wednesday morning. Also, know this… I finally worked out how to run Skype into my mixer. Gonna hit up some elite journos and industry people, only to be refused, and fall back on some failed AFTV personality from 2014.

Enjoy…

Lampard is willing to play a line up away from home that included abraham, Mason mount and Hudson odoi ..
Jorginho , Willian and Kante.

And was rewarded for his bravery .

That sort of line up would never happen under Emery in the prem .

Not even in home games …the most ambitious he will get is putting Ceballos in midfield .

He has even played Torreira as our CAM .

Freddie Ljungberg

Pierre Oh, so we’re now comparing from last season, hard to keep up with all the goalposts you’re moving. Completely different situations, Chelsea has a far better squad now than we had last season. Even no with the players we have had available they probably edges us, that will change soon though. Either way I’m not that worried about who our manager is atm, all I want is progress in the squad building and we have seen that, results and performances will improve over time when players adapt and we have our first choice back 4 available for the first… Read more »

Marko

He is brave enough to go with who he feels will do the job for him.
No pulisic
No Giroud
No Batshuayi
No Pedro .

Pedro, Pulisic and Batshuayi are on 7 appearences for the season compared to the likes of Abraham and Mount on 11 so I dunno what you’re trying to do. Maybe no means yes to you

Luteo Guenreira

Maybe no means yes to you.

Would explain a lot.

Marko

The point Wenger was making is that Arsenal qualifying for champions league in every one of those 9 years , was regarded as failure.Whereas Emery making the top 4 will be regarded as successful. I think it was more about him trying to downplay his failures towards the end there more than anything hence the ignorance is bliss comment because I bet to this day he doesn’t understand why he was sacked. Emery getting back into the Champions League should be seen as successful because for the last number of years we’ve been a Europa League team. Pretty simple to… Read more »

“Pedro, Pulisic and Batshuayi are on 7 appearences for the season ”

FYI…Premier league and champions league .
Batshuayi…..0 starts
Pedro…….3 starts( one in the last 6 games)
Pulisic…3 starts ( none in the last 6 games .

Maybe no means no to me ….nice try though , I think my point is proven

Pierre

Marko
“Since 13/14 he spent over 400 million on signings ”

And won 3 trophies …your point is .

Marko

As for the Lampard love in they’re 27 and 17 for and against for the season while we’re 25 and 11 for and against. 3 top 6 fixures compared to 2 in there too

Marko

Maybe no means no to me ….nice try though , I think my point is proven

Yeah it is proven. 21 appearences between Pulisic, Pedro and Batshuayi this season but yeah no Pulisic Pedro and Batshuayi. Makes perfect sense

Why did Wenger have to spoil my day? Just seeing him on TV with that superior than thou smirk on his face, got my blood boiling. I had to turn over to the Simpsons. Giving Wenger more money would not have solved our problems because, as we all know, he would have found a way of frittering it away on shite signings, unnecessary contract renewals and increases in player wages. For all of Emerys faults and weaknesses, at least we know that his time with Arsenal FC will be limited, whereas, with Wenger, it reached a stage where he not… Read more »

You will only dig yourself into a hole if you want to continue to compare Lampard’s first 3 months with Emery’s first 15 months.

Pierre
Leave him in his ignorance. It’s fun to watch. The excuses, the mental gymnastics to justify every stupid decision emery makes
Blame every player under the sun as long as the back doesn’t come back to the Spanish moyes.

What a cuck.

Yeah we you forgot the fact that they’ve lost a man who was 50% of their team, have a transfer ban, are playing kids in their first team and we have spent £200m in 18 months and have a £200m attack with a £43m playmaker on the bench.

As someone has asked Valentine here and I am yet to see an answer…where were this ifs and buts when we lost to Liverpool? If Pepe had scored his chance or if auba had scored his etc….but when we win all we see is ‘if Bournemouth had done this or if Wilson had done that’…I get the criticism of our play,I really do,but it seems as if some people really absolutely don’t find any single thing positive about Arsenal, absolutely none ffs

Pierre Wenger had massive resources and he spent a ton of money, and he managed to beat a depleted Hull City, a mediocre Aston Villa and a Chelsea who were still celebrating their league title. He spent the rest of that time failing miserably, producing shambolic displays and humiliating results, uttering countless inanities, blaming the fans and generally destroying the reputation he built in his first ten years at Arsenal. Oh right, and he went ten years without even once contending for the title. In his second ten years at Arsenal, Wenger was a complete failure, an utter buffoon, an… Read more »

Oh.

It’s all Xakha’s fault.
Why bother with a coach at all I say? Just pick five captains and let them run the show

Marko

Charles you just can’t help yourself can you.

It’s like that old saying everytime someone calls Arsene a scrotum a Charlie gets his wings.

Marko saying to Jamie ” ignorance is bliss” is a classic.

Lampard can’t shape his team the way he wants to with signings like emery can. He has just had to rely on youth.

You obviously fail to spot the irony in what you say. You’re always on hand to try and shit on Wenger irrespective of why, it’s why you get hoodwinked by toilet newspaper headlines.

Because this is an Arsenal blog and we hope the other teams lose…

What’s important is benchmarking ourselves against the best, not a Man City that’s started the league really poorly by their standards just to get a stroke in.

Removing all comparisons and considering an ‘ideal’ for a moment, there’s no chance on earth this current offering comes close to what we’d hoped to see 18 months after bottom of the barrel.

Kidding yourself on to claim us eggs benedict when we’re clearly scrambled.

You can continue to think all our woes rests on the manager and that it doesn’t matter that we have 3 of our starting defenders missing, or that most of our attacking players are new to the league/senior football. It doesn’t change the facts though.

Again, I do not care if Emery gets fired tomorrow, it doesn’t interest me to harp on about it every day, you do though that’s for sure, not predictable at all that.

The conversation has gone off the boil again. Arsenal fans can’t seem to help themselves, it’s like no one has the capability of having multiple considerations for one topic simultaneously. These disingenuous compliments like “Emery has done good to have us 1 point behind City” is part of the reason why it’s impossible to move on from these stupid, pointless conversations. Yes. That’s right. I think most of our issues stem from the coach not having a clear idea of what kind of team he wants us to be. That most of his tactics counteract each other and that his team elections eliminate the strengths of our players and highlight their weaknesses.

I’m fully aware that some players don’t pull their weight as much as others but he’s paid £6m a year to get them performing.

We should remove this Wenger vs Emery talk since it is a false argument.

Wenger is now effectively replaced by a management structure, which is the trio of Raul, Edu and Emery.

Most of us feel that among the 3, Emery is the weakest link.

It is only frustrating when we contrast the quality of football vs the stellar work Raul and Edu did in the summer.
