Well good morning. ALLEGEDLY, all is not well over at Spurs. I have sourced expert information from Twitter nobodies that suggests the Spurs camp is going through a very similar episode to the JT and Wayne Bridge saga from way back when.

I do genuinely love Hector. I think he’s the modern-day superstar. He doesn’t care what people think. He’s a top athlete. He never gets caught up in anything obscene (bar some occasional fashion mishaps). I have to say, for me, he was the logical choice for the armband if the alternative was Xhaka.

I do need to make a correction, I stated yesterday that I found it odd that Emery dodged the 5 captain thing. Apparently, I was incorrect. He did it. He still managed to fuck it up.

Most of the problems Emery has this season are of his own making, but at the core of it, the squad he has this year is much better. A great result against United this week will go a long way to restoring some faith in the Spaniard, then we’re off on a run of some very easy games. He should deliver enough good results to have everyone prematurely questioning whether people like me have prematurely judged him too early by December 12th.
The thing we have be careful of is 1) Spurs will bounce back 2) I think Frank Lampard is building something strong at Chelsea that might come good this season 3) ‘sacked in the morning’ might happen, and United might finally stumble upon a good manager.

I have been impressed with the promoted clubs style of football they are trying to play. Villa,Sheffield utd and Norwich, although struggling to get the points on the board they deserve, are using brains rather than brawn to try survive in the prem. I hope they maintain this philosophy and not revert to long ball and physicality to gain results . I am finding that watching these sides this season have been like a breathe of fresh air. Also for Ozil’s case, he was already out of mind for most fans. We did play attacking football under Wenger. I don’t think I suggested otherwise in my post above. His attacking football came at the the expense of defensive discipline though, which is why we were hammered by big clubs.

I am also wary of the Rashford/Greenwood comparison. Even at their worst Man Utd seem to be able to hold us at bay at Old Trafford. It is telling that we are the only ‘top 6’ team not to win there since the Ferguson era ended.

I wasn’t batting for Emery I was giving you a chance to show some insight into what’s going on at Spurs and how Poch is dealing with probably the most turbulent time in his managerial career to date. I was hoping for an unbiased objective opinion on the matter and you didn’t disappoint.

I can see it being Enrique in the summer. Read somewhere recently that Raul actually wanted him to be manager but a mixture of Ivan and likely his wage demands scuppered any potential deal. And I dunno if it’s because of what happened to his daughter and the time away from the game coupled with the fact that he does like attacking football (over a likely mean defence) but I could very much get behind the appointment.

I would absolutely love it if Leicester pipped Spurs to 4th (with us in 3rd obviously!). Super unlikely, I know.
Can’t have Spurs in the CL next season, nor Utd or Chelsea (who will have a truckload of cash to spend at the start of next season if they make top 4, and add the Hazard fee to the pot).
I personally wouldn’t like Leicester in the top 4 because it’d make Dissenter unbearable smug around here. Even more so really

Marko So prey tell what’s the problem at Spurs ? Are they losing games because their manager is not good enough or some of the core players in their team are unsettled ? My take is some of the players wanted to leave for bigger clubs in the summer. Now that they find themselves stuck at Spurs at much lower wages than what they could otherwise have got at their respective dream clubs, they are not playing with any passion and pride. Jamie, I agree..I think Spurs peaked and unless Lewis sells up to a mega rich buyer, I don’t see how they’re going to compete, particularly with a new coach and a big turnover of players. If they get stupid money for Kane I guess that could wheel and deal but I don’t think they can get away with low wages any more.
Chelsea and Manu will be undoubtedly improve next season so we have to get top 4 this. Leicester need a lot of luck keeping their first 11 fit but you never know.
