Ok, I wanted to post today, but I ended up rocking a work drinks, then the peel off work drinks, then I went toe-to-toe with my team after that and I lost.

For the nightcap, I went to what I thought was a normal club. How wrong could I be? I witnessed someone in drag whip her chopper out for the crowd, then pick up a champagne bottle with another part of their body, before ripping the cork off and spraying the fans.

I also lost my bag. My ID. Two money cards.

Where did I lose them? That club. Always the way. Now I have to go back their sober at 11 pm. This is my punishment.

Thankfully, we weren’t really punished in the Europa League.

Group F #Arsenal, Eintracht Frankfurt, Standard Liege, Vitoria SC

The German’s will likely cause us the most problems. They have a bit of a following. Niko Kovac managed them before Adi Hütter took the reins. They’ll not be the same threat as they were with Luka Jović, but they’ll be well organised and they’ll come with enough tactical weaponry to take advantage of us if we take a complacent view of their talents.

Unai Emery has a huge opportunity to rectify the widely panned defeat from last weekend. We’ll see how much belief he has in his ‘play-out-of-the-back’ philosophy. So far, it’s looked distinctly shite, Burnley, Newcastle and Liverpool have seen the execution as an opportunity versus a threat. We saw a pretty similar thing last year before it was binned. We need to see a progression of the idea, because from where I’m sitting, it doesn’t look like it’s a practice issue… it looks like we do the same thing over and over so it’s predictable and easy to counter.

Spurs is a huge game. Fuck their form. It always means very little. The game will be thunderous and there will be a few players out there experiencing it for the first time.

We should be going toe-to-toe with them. We should be taking advantage of the possibility of their right being Sissoko. We should be hitting them out the blocks and leaning hard into the unsettled nature of their squad.

I think this is a huge game for Pepe and Ceballos. Both players have the ability to make a hero statement. Both are new to Spurs.

I also think it’s a big question of Unai Emery. Is he going to throw Xhaka back into the mix again know that Spurs will target his lack of ability under heavy pressure?

It’s also Nacho’s last game for Arsenal… wouldn’t it be something if he were the one with the winner?

Right, short post today, I’ll be spending the evening deciphering whatever Unai Emery has to say.

See you in the comments.

It’s a special type of creep who enjoys jokes on child molestation.

Well, our little truce was fun while it lasted.

    Mwahahaha
I take it back. You know I’ve got a special place in my heart for you

    Shitty joke though.

    “Bla bla bla. ”

Sums up your post nicely, most of them actually.

Torreira came back late, didn’t have a preseason and has to be managed so he doesn’t burn out after half a season again. Logic and common sense really isn’t your forte.

  4. InsideRight

    Nacho gone.

With Tierney not back in full training that’s a risk we could do without. It’s a shame to see him go. I know his pace has gone and he gets in trouble with balls over the top, but the rest of his game was reassuring.

Best of luck at Sociedad, Nach.

A good question from a good handle. I remember Bertie Mee. I remember Terry Neill. I remember George Graham. I am an old cunt. But would I dance too if The Poch pranced the cuckold around Mr. Emery? As an old bastard, you have to concede to me the grace of been-there-done-that. My gut, Mr. Bojangles, tells me Poch would be be a better fit than Unai, if for no other reason than he has a charisma that our incumbent lacks.

  6. Un na naai

    Freddie

Really. Logic isn’t my forte? I’ll be sure to mark that one down so I don’t forget. Would hate for my lack of logical thinking to impede my day to day dealings with clients

On to football though. The article clearly states that emery wasn’t keen and had to be convinced
Further proof that he was after Nzonzi. Banger being another. Suarez being another. He just loves a West Ham level midfielder doesn’t he? Makes you wonder why he sold Wilshere after all. Too classy.

You dont think that Torreira was fit enough to play 60 mins vs Liverpool or to come on at half time with lacazette?

You dont think that he was being deployed as box to box last season as opposed to dmf which is clearly where his skill set excelled?

You have the midfielder who is clearly the most tenacious tackler in our side playing in front of Granit Xakha??
Suggest you talk to your brain and ask it the definition of logic as it’s quite obviously forgetting to remind you.

In his own words he’s choosing certain players based on his own tactical analysis.

  7. Un na naai

Yes, but be calm. My decision in each moment is thinking about how we are. I think they can start together and they can play also during the match as all three, it depends how we decide our gameplan. But I am very optimistic for that situation, but not also those three players, also Nelson, Mkhitaryan, Willock, Ozil.

We need to be able to make the best decisions, but above all, to have different possibilities with the players.

    Freddie ☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️
Have a look bruh. The man is a tinkerer.

Pay particular attention to the “it depends on our game plan” but.

    Rather telling no?

  8. Bojangles

    Gunz

I go back further than you…. George Swindon, Billy Wright… You can’t pull a oap with me mate… Lol.

From one old cunt to another, you maybe right about Poch but he ain’t coming here. So either dream on or come back to the real on.world where Mr Emery is what you have until the end of the season.

  9. Freddie Ljungberg

    Don

I think Torreira should start every time when he’s match fit, and Xhaka should be on the bench always looking after the real football players house keys since that’s his main quality.

It was all the other bs in your post I objected to.

I don’t think Torreira is best as a sitting DM, he should be deployed as a defensive b2b with another like minded player next to him, it falls apart when he’s partnered with Xhaka for obvious reasons.

What is he supposed to say? Yes, those 3 will start every game because all our other options are shit?

I don’t have a problem with having different game plans for different opposition, we’re not good enough to expect to dominate every game.

  10. GuNZ

    Bojangles

Fuck me, and there was me thinking I was the wrinkly bastard.
I can do Billy Wright (just) but I was probably over the North Bank honking baby spew over the blokes in front of my old man then.
But you got me on George Swindin. I was 4 months old when Billy Wright took over form him.
    Good on you,brother.

  11. Emiratesstroller

I don’t understand why Monreal was not retained for this weekend’s game against Spurs. The deadline in Spain is the 2nd September.

Nevertheless I was an advocate at the start of transfer window that Arsenal needed to offload both Koscielny and Monreal.

It was fairly obvious last season that both players were in serial decline and no
longer good enough to play in EPL games.

My guess is that both Bellerin and Tierney will be close to match fitness after
    the International games break.

When you analyse our current squad there is sufficient depth to play two different teams in EPL and Europe PROVIDING that our players are match fit.

  12. Victorious

Afraid Monreal leaving is another shocking decision by the club,

he’s literally the closest to a leader we have in the entire squad, a reliable and hardworking player

Could have provided a better mentor/cover for whenever Tierney is fit

Kolasinac is a disaster defensively and no way should he playing in a club vieing for top4

    Goodluck Nacho!

  13. Bojangles

    Gunz

I was knee high to a grasshopper going to Leyton Orient with dad when some guy by the name Greytown (something like that) was there but my brother took me under his wing and started taking me to Highbury about the time Swindon took over. Been a gunner ever since. Been a rollercoaster ride too, as you know.

  14. GuNZ

    Bojangles

Funnily enough, my old man (who was a Shoreditch boy) used to take me to Brisbane Road occasionally even though us three kids (all born in Hackney) ended up supporting different teams (me, the Arsenal, my brother, Chelsea, and my sister, Spurs). He even sometimes used to take us out to watch Gillingham play – don’t know what that was all about. I remember one time Orient were playing Aston Villa in a crucial game to win promotion. They didn’t. But what I do remember about Brisbane Road was a bloody good pie and hamburger outlet at the top of the stands.

  15. Ishola70

    Victorious
“Afraid Monreal leaving is another shocking decision by the club”

    It’s Monreal’s decision to leave.

You think it is a good move to hold a player against his will do you especially one who has been a long servant at the club?

  16. Champagne charlie

What in the fuck is that video about? Just upped my blood pressure considerably, like who, how is that a thing?

10 year sentence for that? What a system

First Koscielny and now Monreal, makes you wonder why the decent enough oldies are all boating on Mr bland.i mean these are players who could still do a job for the team and are better than the available options.no?

    Freddie

No. Xakha and Torreira were actually very good together.
Note our 23 game run occurred with those two as our mf pair and our form dropped when Guendouzi was introduced

No. He said that he chooses to leave certain players out for tactical reasons. Like he did with ozil Ramsey Torreira and lacazette numerous times last season
You can only take the man at his word.

  19. Bojangles

About all I remember of Brisbane road is mainly a sea of legs and raincoats…. and being pushed through them until I could peep over railings. Lol.. not sure everyone refers tothose times as the good ol’ days.

Was born in Hackney Hospital.. and lived in Upper Clapton until we moved to Australia.

I remember Stan Charlton and Vic Groves moving to the gunners from the O’s. Upset me at the time but was cheering them on a year later.

  20. Un na naai

Fucking mental eh!? The kid was fine but required surgery. Was in Georgia. She tried to do both children. Vile vindictive sick woman. I don’t care what condition she suffers from any person capable of such acts shouldn’t be allowed to live. That child was extremely lucky to have walked away from such a heinous attack.

  21. Danny

Crap crap management, trying to tell us that they didn’t know back in May that Koscielny and Monreal were going to leave? Mustafi and Elneny too? So why wasn’t everything sorted by the start of the month? Same as with Wenger making a desperate buy for Mertasacker on the last day of the window we got fuckin’ Luiz.
Expect to watch Emery’s bollock tactic of playing out from the back tomorrow when everybody on the planet knows we’re no good at it except him, it’s not just shit, it’s not enjoyable to watch, actually bloody painful. 25 seconds to reach the half way line (if we’re lucky) whereas Liverpool and Man C do it in 5.
    Dark days ahead.

  22. Ishola70

    Victorious
“First Koscielny and now Monreal, makes you wonder why the decent enough oldies are all boating on Mr bland.i mean these are players who could still do a job for the team and are better than the available options.no?”

There is no coincidence about it.

Both had expiring contracts and both had several seasons contracts offered to them by other clubs.

What would you do in their shoes? Stay one more season at Arsenal or get a three year deal at another club?

  23. Champagne charlie

    Unaai

Just don’t get it, what was the motive (however absurd)? She part of the god squad cleansing some bollocks or what?

Obvious nutter, I just can’t fathom how that’s a thing. I’d also have left my boys with mum and followed her to a point I could’ve seen her insides.

  24. Victorious

I’d hazard a guess Emery is very much unpopular with most of the players and you could see from a mile off they’re not enjoying their football

His tactics are confusing, poor communication skill and always look timid,

compare and contrast with the likes of Klopp and Pep and it’s obvious why he isn’t rated

  25. Ishola70

Arsenal don’t get to the real top level until the midfield can all press without the ball effectively.

That Xhaka is being championed is hilarious when you take this into consideration.

Arsenal can beat run of the mill sides and take some better scalps in home matches by having passengers off the ball in midfield but they aren’t going to reach the real top.

  26. Champagne charlie

“Arsenal can beat run of the mill sides and take some better scalps in home matches by having passengers off the ball in midfield but they aren’t going to reach the real top.“

Can apply this assessment to the manager, and we’d be much better off replacing the manager than any one player you’re levelling that criticism at. No prizes for guessing who of course.

  27. Emiratesstroller

Arsenal have more or less completed the offload of players this summer. The
only other player who the club would probably have chosen to shift out of the
club is Mustafi and that will probably happen now next January or Summer.

Moving forward I don’t expect massive revision of our squad next season. I
think that we will most probably consolidate. Players like Saliba and Nkietah
will return from loan and perhaps Ceballos will be bought from Real Madrid.

This will allow the club to perhaps promote one player from U23s e.g. Saka
and then go and look for a replacement for Ozil and Mkhitaryan.

Overall assuming that we qualify for Champions League that will provide us
with solid base without spending mega bucks.

  28. Un na naai

    Cc

Don’t know. She’s obviously got some condition. Paranoid Schizophrenic or something but yes, she’d have been on the floor In a heartbeat if she did it to one of mine
Even if I was a bystander and saw her do that to someone else’s child.
The world is choc full of nut cases

  29. Moe

Only Mustafi, Mikhi Ozil and Xhaka left to offload between the January window and next summer. Have to admire Raul’s ruthlessness.

  30. GuNZ

    Bojangles

Sounds like we have fairly similar stories. I’ve been in NZ for most of my life now (was lucky enough to always have had the passport as the old man was a ten pound pom). But the Arsenal’s still in my blood. Can’t help it.

  31. Victorious

    Ishola

Your emphasis on the players and not on Mr bland on why we struggle to dominate games is telling of how strong your sentimental game is

Monreal leaving is yet another testament that he’s successfully shafting personnels and bringing his own players

That’s what 10 or 11 players we’ve brought in under his watch and we what, we’re still banging excuses after excuses for him that the players are culpable? Lol

I think if Emery don’t slap bitch the scums tomorrow on our turf with them looking shaking on and off the pitch then we should look to be moving him on ASAP

  32. Ishola70

    Vic

In Monreal’s case you are banging the drum for no reason.

Both players Monreal and Koscielny had expiring contracts and both players have done what is best for them financially which is to secure several seasons contract deals with other clubs.

  33. Pierre

    Un
“No. Xakha and Torreira were actually very good together.
Note our 23 game run occurred with those two as our mf pair and our form dropped when Guendouzi was introduced”

You are correct , also ozil playing ahead of them during that period .

Emery thought he had it sussed during that run , he became too cocky and complacent.

He decided to flex his muscles and it backfired on him.

He took issue with first Ramsey , then Ozil and finally Lacazette for showing their displeasure at being substituted and Emery decided to marginalize them.
That along with the change in Torreira’s position had a massive effect on our results and performances.

The know nothing’s will argue until they are blue in the face that that wasn’t the case in their futile attempt at defending Emery’s poor decision making and poor man Management.

Emery has like a self destruct button with his management.
If he had continued with a consistent team selection and consistent tactics and formation the fan base would be 100% behind him , the problem is his tendency to self destruct rears its ugly head and he tries to be too clever for his own good.

Let’s hope he has learnt his lesson from last season and brings stability to the team with his team selection, formation and tactics.

  34. Danny

I’ll take Emery with all his shortcomings over useless Xhaka any fuckin day. No contest.
    ———————————-
    WTF?

  35. Victorious

I mean I don’t like Xhaka but I think when he leaves he’ll still get a ‘big’ enough club to play for

can’t say the same for Mr bland.. He wouldn’t be doing better than arsenal considering his offerings here up to now.

  36. Ishola70

Xhaka is never going to roll up at a club is he where CL title is demanded or at least the expectation to go close.

Emery had the equivalent as manager at PSG. Xhaka never will have the equivalent as a player.

Arsenal is as good as it gets for Xhaka.

  37. Freddie Ljungberg

The same posters are blaming Emery for playing bland football, at the same time championing Xhaka and Ozil when our midfield has been the main reason for our turgid, uninventive play. It’s not Emery out there on the pitch, it’s your darlings stinking the place up. Smg

The unbeaten run was mainly easy opposition both home and especially away, we never looked that convincing during that run either but at least we had options coming off the bench to get the results then until we started to get too many injuries.

  38. Victorious

    Ishola

The point is Emery looks to have hit his cieling here, arsenal is the peak and that’s as big as it can get for him

Arsenal gave him the chance to become elite after the PSG gig and he currently looks fumbling,if he fails again this season as per football experts then he would seem to have botched that chance

    Inter Milan wanted Xhaka

  39. Ishola70

    Vic

PSG was Emery’s peak job not Arsenal.

And we are talking in terms of footballing expectations when he was there.

And that is no slight on Arsenal. It’s just the money that was spent at PSG and some of the high ranking players they had there.

  40. Champagne charlie

“The same posters are blaming Emery for playing bland football, at the same time championing Xhaka and Ozil when our midfield has been the main reason for our turgid, uninventive play. It’s not Emery out there on the pitch, it’s your darlings stinking the place up.”

Ignorant comment. We’ve played better football was worse players.

  41. Champagne charlie

“I’ll take Emery with all his shortcomings over useless Xhaka any fuckin day. No contest.“

Pick whatever your fave CM is in world football, I’d confidently state having a manager in the Klopp/Simeone tier would do bundles more for us than whoever you choose to replace Xhaka, or any other one player.

Micro vs macro. Just not sensible at all.

  42. Akilan

Keeping both CBs too deep is risky but not without its uses.

Say the opponents choose to press us. Then they have to go all in. If you press the CBs, you can’t leave Guen & co free. So their MF has to step up to mark ours. Our MFs are likely to be stationed around our defensive third. It leads to their CBs marking our forwards around the halfway line. Either they press us completely or sit back and we don’t lose possession from GKs.

Burnley actually chose to press us at The Emirates and as a result, majority of the game was played entirely in our half. It also meant that David Luiz could ping long balls behind their CBs. He actually played 1 to Auba in the first half I think. If you add Pepe & Laca, the long ball behind the defense will be one of our potent weapons, we’ve already seen the glimpses.

David Luiz for all his faults is one of the top 5 CBs in the world on the ball & if you go by stats, last season he’s by far the best. He created 11 big chances last season. For context, Iwobi created most big chances for us(10). Papa keeps it simple & rarely loses the ball or plays a wonder ball. Tierney & Bellerin should improve us further in this regard. We have decent ball playing defenders and it is imperative we build on that. Yes, there will be mistakes and we will concede goals. But it will be worth it.

It turns out that Emery actually has a plan.

  43. Freddie Ljungberg

    CC

    “Ignorant comment”

I’ll have to bow to your expertise on that.

The creative players last season was largely the same as in Wengers last years, and we played for the most part shite football then too. Didn’t notice this much outrage from you and the merry men then, strange that.

For all Wengers fault he stocked up with a lot of small technical players so the passing was prettier to look at those days although not very efficient. Not many of those left last season and the ones we had, Ozil and Mikhi are wildly inconsistent.

We have better players this season so I’m expecting better football, it really is that simple.
I’m however not demanding it 3 games in with players being eased in and some still injured.

  44. HighburyLegend

Mauricio Pochettino: “Tottenham know my commitment, I’ve rejected plenty of offers”
    OMG, Poch has been… wengerized!!

  45. China1

Replacing the manager could bring benefits but you can hardly believe that xhaka and ozil are going to become the real deal with a different manager

Their flaws aren’t strategic or tactical and about how they’re utilized. Their issues are they’re not actually especially good footballers

  46. Valentin

Southampton pressing is really causing problem to ManUtd.
Unfortunately they don’t have a lethal striker.
If Nkethia was playing for Southampton instead of Danny Ings, they would have got a draw against Liverpool.

  47. N5

Shame to see Monreal has left. He was a real professional. He turned up did a job and made little fuss.

    Good luck Nacho-man.

  48. China1

This utd squad today is probably the weakest I can recall them fielding for a PL game in my 29 years

There are about 4 good players in total and that includes the bench

Juan mata and Ashley young are still in the team getting paid and Young is still captain. Deary me

Ole is gonna need some next level Ferguson skill to make this team do anything of note this year. We should be finishing this season 6-10 points above them at a minimum

    Horrible horrible squad

  49. Champagne charlie

“I’ll have to bow to your expertise on that.“

Ooh, burn…. someone struggles when there’s opposing views.

“Didn’t notice this much outrage from you and the merry men then, strange that.”

The Merry men? Oh I see, you’re one of these guys that prides himself on putting others into boxes because you disagree with what’s said.

“For all Wengers fault he stocked up with a lot of small technical players so the passing was prettier to look at those days although not very efficient”

Lol yea, Emery was left with a bunch of workmen. Mkhi, Ozil, Auba, Laca, Xhaka, Ramsey….no technique at all, pure runners and water carriers.

  50. N5

Agreed China, I thought the same at the end of last year that it was a terrible team by Manure standards and that was before they had some quite high profile departures this window.

Good move getting rid of Alexis though, £400K a week for 5 goals, ha ha.

Little off topic but being as you’re somewhere in the ball Park I wanted to ask you a question.
What’s your view on herbal medicines?

  52. Crimson

Farewell Nacho. Great servant to the club and a few important goals. Strange decision to let him go before the NLD. Will Emery play Xhaka left back. Lol
With Elneny going to Besiktas as well that’s roughly £120000 off the wage bill.
Only really Mustafi to get rid of this window.
Sad to see ESR getting injured again in the under 23s. Hope it’s not too bad.

  53. Champagne charlie

I fully endorse, to a point. It’s that point that often is contested. Are you wondering about anything in particular?

  54. Un na naai

    Cc

No. Nothing in particular. I’m very much imbedded in that world though and have been reading that it’s being incorporated into the nhs more and more or will be soon and wondered what your thoughts were seeing as it’s in your area and all.

I was half thinking of an article I was reading earlier while about to post here and the thought occurred.
Any views on the jabs and alleged links to autism?

  55. Freddie Ljungberg

    CC

I’m not the one with the ignorant comments jibes, who’s struggling exactly?

I’m also not the one putting anyone in boxes, you and a couple of others have put yourself there for years, those boxes have been firmly parked up Wengers rectum, don’t blame your choice of living quarters on me thanks.

Mikhi shit, Ozil shit, Xhaka dogshit, Ramsey mostly shit, flashes of brilliance then injured again, you just mentioned the biggest handbrakes to our game to prove your point? Weird.

. Auba and Laca are great strikers, hardly the ones handling our build up play though. Keep reaching CC, I’ve always thought hypocrisy suits you.

  56. Champagne charlie

“Any views on the jabs and alleged links to autism?“

Find the allegations absolutely ridiculous, and pretty indicative of our societal/cultural disposition for vehemently gunning for fault above all else.

Numerous studies can accentuate the risk for no vaccination and it doesn’t land, one half baked “study” can draw a weak correlation to autism and a vociferous debate is sparked fingers pointed. Par for the course at this stage.

  57. vickingz

I was thinking monreal would play NLD as his last match for us, i’d say we haven’t managed the situation well. I just hope emery won’t be playing into poch’s hand come tomorrow and should he start guen and xhaka, no miracle would save us from losing.

@ un na nai, I was earlier this week explaining to some posters here that torreira’s position (natural habitat) is dm but they just wouldn’t listen. Same thing emery is doing to torr was same thing wenger did to song when he scored and became assists provider. Yes, song was providing assists, he was venturing forward at will thus leaving us exposed to counter and oh boy, we got punished heavily. Torr is a dm, emery should play him as one. Tnis emery has a knack for playing players wrongly

  58. Ishola70

Only saw from halfway through the first half of the Man United match but Pogba having a bit of a stinker.

Keeps getting caught on the ball a lot just like last weekend that led to the Crystal Palace winner at Old Trafford.

  59. Valentin

The so called study that linked autism and vaccination has since being debunked. Its author has even lost his medical license for spreading non-sense.

We live in a world where social media can spread the wildest conspiracy theories based on no more than the feelings of some idiots in his basement.

That causes problem to legitimate herbal medicines as they tend to be put in the same box than the wacky theories.

  60. Champagne charlie

“I’m not the one with the ignorant comments jibes, who’s struggling exactly?“

You. A jibe is an insulting remark, what I said wasn’t. Your comment was ignorant, ergo I said “ignorant comment”, and explained why.

“I’m also not the one putting anyone in boxes, you and a couple of others have put yourself there for years, those boxes have been firmly parked up Wengers rectum, don’t blame your choice of living quarters on me thanks.”

    Another ignorant comment.

Let me know when you’ve got something of genuine substance and not just a pathetic quip toward an idea of factions.

“Mikhi shit, Ozil shit, Xhaka dogshit, Ramsey mostly shit, flashes of brilliance then injured again, you just mentioned the biggest handbrakes to our game to prove your point? Weird.”

Again, moving goalposts to suit yourself. They’re all technically proficient enough to play good attractive football – which is in direct opposition to your claim that the reason we play bland stuff is the players, not the coach. Try and keep on track for a change.

Even though some doctors in the states who were on the panel charged with green lighting certain vaccines refused to endorse it as the tests were inconclusive.

To be clear I’m not sure where I stand on this. After watching the documentary “Jabbed” it was hard not to wonder if there were some truth to the claims.
I think it was the third jab for mumps or measles were said to be responsible for the claims and that black males were more at risk than others genetically or statistically

Was heart wrenching. Some of the children appear totally responsive until the jab and then there’s and immediate change in the child post jab.

I did also read a counter to this where the doctor states that we now know autism starts in the womb and that these children were already autistic but the parents were unaware

Watching the footage it seems as though the children in question were perfectly normal beforehand though and drastically different afterwards.

“Again, moving goalposts to suit yourself. They’re all technically proficient enough to play good attractive football – which is in direct opposition to your claim that the reason we play bland stuff is the players, not the coach. Try and keep on track for a change.”

Ah Charlie, you always do this when you don’t have an argument, thinking it makes you look clever maybe?

How am I “moving goalposts” or “not keeping on track” exactly?

all the players bar Laca and Auba are wildly inconsistent/ injury prone/ semi retired/ slow of mind and body. That was pretty much exactly my point, in case you missed it, I know how much you hate being misunderstood, and that seems to happen to you a lot in your daily shadow fights on here.

  63. N5

Charlie I don’t know why you bother responding to these posters that seem more intent on name calling than discussing Arsenal.

I’ve noticed!! I’d chalk this down to the fanatical types working their bollocks off to make emery right in almost everything he does.

Any foot put wrong is either the players or Wenger or the system Emery inherited.
I’ve not seen marko, Freddie or hairline once criticise emery or admitting his culpability for any poor performance or decision in a over a year

Medicine has almost too many variables to consider, my issue comes when the inquisition goes beyond the Hippocratic oath and seeks to damage the confidence in medicine and medical professionals.

Ive seem numerous cases that raise question and relative concern, however that’s the nature of medicine and there’s numerous risk altering factors. Inconclusive causal studies are simply that, science is evolutionary after all and adapts with new knowledge should it be discovered. I’ve encountered nothing that shakes my absolute faith in vaccination, quite the contrary.

  66. raptora

Manure will probably win this game, but the amount of space/ball possession they allowed S’oton to have will bring them a lot of problems vs any half decent team. Manure aren’t as bad as we think they are, but they aren’t much better either. We should be finishing comfortably ahead of them.

  67. Un na naai

    Ok.

As I said. I’m on the fence.

What about the big pharmaceutical companies and their suppression of rival products and treatments?

  68. Marko

That’s cute Don needs reassurances from a total stranger on a football blog on those totally debunked links between vaccination and autism. Forget about what all those doctors and scientists have said really you needed to hear it come from Charles.

May I suggest Don you don’t believe everything that you have read quit getting your information from some bullshit YouTube video get your news from better and more reliable sources and you know use common fucking sense once in a while.

    You commented the following:

“The same posters are blaming Emery for playing bland football, at the same time championing Xhaka and Ozil when our midfield has been the main reason for our turgid, uninventive play. It’s not Emery out there on the pitch, it’s your darlings stinking the place up.”

If you think poverty of talent is a reason we play bland stuff then that’s quite comical. Our squad is literally deficient to the point we have more footballers than athletes, so to then argue we don’t have the players to play an attractive game is quite something.

As I said right from the off, we’ve played better football with poorer players than those mentioned. The excuses are paper thin, and with Ceballos and Pepe now on board we’ve moved into the realms of tracing paper from trusty A4.

And the over prescription of drugs to the public, especially children with behaviour issues

I watched Jordan Peterson discuss this with rogan and he they went into his diet was the main contributor to anti social behaviour in young boys but the GP’s just put them on drugs.

Lindelof done on two consecutive matches in the air leading to goals.

Against Crystal Palace and the Southampton equaliser today.

I’ve very little good to say about big pharma, they profiteer ill-health which ends my objectivity there and then in many ways.

Marko, good of you to be a leading light in positive and cordial discourse as ever. Be sure and police a few others along the way, inspire them even.

  73. Marko

Sure thing Charles. Absolutely shocking behavior on my part I must apologize. My god those insults… I’ve got some mouth on me. It’s nice to see you pretending to be a decent human being for once. We’ll just assume that’ll change when Receding comes on.

Absence really make the heart grow fonder if you’re casting CC as the hero in this, smh.

That is pretty much his whole M.O, name calling, and claiming he’s misunderstood when he struggles to defend his views, been that way for years. Only difference now is instead of defending the former manager to the hilt he’s now swung the other way and tries to pick holes in everything his replacement does, because it surely can’t be the players that the wonderful professor collected that’s at fault in any way.

I don’t care who the manager is, although it would have been depressing asf if we had to settle on someone like Arteta but the squad needed an overhaul either way and it’s far from done.

  75. Champagne charlie

Overprescribing is absolutely an issue, but it’s also societal because there’s so very little education on nutrition and health. Often the GP is ‘not doing their job’ if they don’t offer medication as treatment.

Same can be said for anti-psychotics, again no help given thanks to the stigma associated with mental health and the affirmation of archaic principles that can directly influence deterioration of mental wellness.

The education and tolerance for some of the most fundamental aspects of our existence is often absent, or worse, totally backwards.

If someone wants to be a prick I’ll reply in kind, sort of the manner you’re heading.

I’m you come and immediately criticise and dismiss Unaai in your usual arrogant tone. Here I am now apparently “pretending” to be decent, when in fact I’m just interacting with people who aren’t being complete twats. Mind blowing I know

  78. N5

Freddie I wasn’t really meaning your conversation with CC. I just rarely see any point he’s making not being countered with something like “listen dickhead” and I just don’t understand why people fuel each other. 81. Freddie Ljungberg

“If you think poverty of talent is a reason we play bland stuff then that’s quite comical”

Not surprised at all that this is what you think.

If that was Ozil of 2-3 years ago and Mikhi at Dortmund and Ramsey in 13/14 you would have a point, it’s not though. And Xhaka is still garbage, his passing game is exaggerated to the point of ridiculousness because he keeps it safe ( when he’s not gifting goals away) and does the occasional lofted ball to the flank. Not to mention he slows down every move forward he’s involved with because he’s so damn slow and ponderous.

Both Guen and Torreira are better passers imo.

I’m excited about it WE. Confused about Nacho going prior to the game and it’ll be interesting who he plays in that position, but I think we still should boss them regardless. I’m really hoping we stuff them, but I’m play safe at a 2-0. What about you mate?

United’s demise makes me happier than any other super club hands down, burned by Fergie far too many times over the years to have any sympathy for OGS who’ll they’ll turn on very soon, sacked by December my prediction.

Selling Lukaku without bringing in a replacement was a downy move, also signing Maguire and Bissaka for 130m. Good players but that’s elite player spending, absolute hilarious that Kojak Eddy still hasn’t learned his lesson re overspending.

VVD is mint, deservedly UEFA POTY. Messi should win the Ballon D’or mind.

  103. TR7

It’s strange how United’s form nosedived ever since Ole was appointed full time manager of the club. They have been playing painfully average football off late. Arsenal should comfortably make top 4 this season, no excuses.

  104. WengerEagle

    N5

Quietly confident, even over the past few flaky years we’ve bossed them at the Emirates most of the time. They’re low on confidence and are out of rhythm and clearly they’re not a happy camp atm, Poch looks like he has one foot out the door along with Eriksen, Alderweireld, Rose and now Vertonghen. Shite away record in 2019, we’re strong at home with the front 3 looking more settled and expect Ceballos to have a big game tomorrow, looked lost at Anfield but I’ve seen many a top class technical player look helpless there and it was his 2nd PL game for us so I’m not going to kill him for that.

At the Emirates he’ll have the crowd behind him and Spur’s midfield aren’t nearly as aggressive as Pool’s, Winks is a bang average player and soft.

Pepe looked really dangerous against Pool too and I see him bagging that 1st goal tomorrow, could well be a few goals as there is bound to be plenty of chances at both ends but I’m pulling for us to stick them 2-1, Lacazette and Pepe goals.

Also, Don came to a football blog to ask for advice on his bleeding asshole, 1. how is it dismissive to ask if that’s the case again? 2 Do you think he’s not going to get reminded of that stupidity as long as he posts here?

United will probably fire OGS at some point because it’s clear he’s sub-par. He does not even have that draw that a manager should have- it’s hard to see any top player sign because OGS’s call convinced them to.
If they sack him…the top manager available is Allegri, which is not good news for us.

That said, I suspect top managers will steer away from United. They still don’t have the backroom to revamp that club.

  109. WengerEagle

    TR7

Not that strange, in the interim role he was Ole the club legend parachuting in to salvage the wreck that Mourinho left in his wake and he enjoyed a pressure-free honeymoon period where he was simply re-engaging talented players in the dressing room like Pogba and Martial that Jose lost, results and performances showed a huge pick up in morale similar to when Jose was sacked at Chelsea and results picked up for them under Hiddink.

Once the media blew so much smoke up his arse it ramped up supporter pressure to make OGS the permanent gaffer, wish was granted and suddenly he went from having no pressure and expectation to being expected overnight to build a future title competing side.

With their 150m summer spend they’re expected to make a strong push for top 4 at the least. Looks like they’re going to struggle, Chelsea aside which on another day easily could have seen Chelsea smoke them if they took their guilt edged chances they’ve mustered up just 3 goals in 3 matches taking only 2 points from 9.
