NLD has extra spice this week

Great result in the Ashes.

Incredible result in Spurs home game against the unstoppable machine that is Steve Bruce’s Newcastle.

The mighty Geordies stole the game 0-1 after a lovely finish from Joelinton, a striker not really known for goals.

Poch hasn’t won an away game since Jan, he’s only won 4 games in his last 15, and he is looking extremely arsey in his prezzers.

You could almost feel for him. Emery is out here praying that we sell Mustafi and Elneny, Poch might yet lose Jan Vertonghen, Toby Aldeweirald and Christian Eriksen.

If those three go, they are in desperate trouble this season. It’s like Spurs are finally paying the price for a criminally low wage bill. Those three leave and it’ll be a huge blow for morale, technical capability, experience levels and their chances of top 4.

Add to that the rumour that Spurs were 10k short for the Newcastle game and they had to literally give tickets away to pump their numbers (unverified).

Hate to see it, honestly.

In Arsenal news, poor old Unai is taking a hammering from all corners after his tactical disaster-class against Liverpool. Not really my bag to talk tactics, but I kind of feel he was fucked whichever route he took.

Why would he start Lacazette… who has a horrendous record away from home? Why would there be a consideration for Mesut Ozil? The guy is an absolute wimp. What was he supposed to do about the full-back situation?

My main critique would be how tepid we were. We’re not fierce in these games. Emery isn’t decisive when things go wrong. He’s also very uncreative when it comes to fixing problems as they happen.

I think he’s scared. He knows that this year he has to improve. He knows there are a whole bunch of underlying statistics he’s going to have to attack. I’d imagine that is going to impact his starting 11s this season.

Remember, he’s used to getting by with experienced journeymen. That’s why you’re more likely to see Xhaka start than someone younger. Kids make mistakes. It’s too risky. Even his big kids make mistakes. David Luiz has made 3 massive errors in 2 games. Not good enough.

… but it’s interesting, big mistakes seem to be a theme whoever plays.

How do you coach concentration into players? How do you make the team stronger defensively? How do you improve the attacking output?

There’s a lot to work on, but it’s hard to judge him after losing to one of the most brutal outfits in the game.

Let’s see what happens against Spurs.

Newcastle are a shower of shit, but they managed to roll the European cup finalists. Emery isn’t going to be able to hide behind excuses forever. We have a very, very good squad of players to pick from. If teams are better than us, surely the purpose of a coach is that he finds a way?

If Emery takes Spurs down by 3 goals this weekend, everyone will rejoice that he has more sauce than the Costco condiments aisle. I won’t, but you know, I see what’s coming with absolute clarity.

Might have a little bit of goss for you tomorrow, tune in or be damned to an eternity of fire and Sam Allardyce.

Liverpool’s fullbacks had one assist this weekend, the corner from Arnold, reading this place since Saturday one will be forgiven to believe we were torn apart by Liverpool’s fullbacks.

@ Gentlebris

All what you wrote above is written on the premise you have an audio recording or written account of the team talk before the game or at half time, you have none of these things so i can safely assume you are talking nonsense as usual. I would concentrate on the joys of fatherhood rather than most of the silliness you have come out with since Saturday.

And results against Man United.

By all means come on here and moan your arse off if Arsenal put on a display away from home against Chelsea, Spurs, Man United. Even more so teams like Wolves, Leicester.

Don’t start whinging regarding games against Liverpool and Man City away. These are only two games in the whole calendar for gods sake.

Ishola if we play 3-4-3 like we did last season against Spurs don’t you think we will be overrun in midfield considering the physicality they possess in that department??? What formation do you think is better suited for that game bearing in mind Emery will persist with Xhaka.

As an aside i thought it was pretty dumb of him to play Xhaka after Klopp publicly said he expected Xhaka to start, there really was nothing Xhaka will bring at Anfield we could not do without

Gentlebris

‘This season is about improving the away form against all teams in EPL apart from Liverpool and Man City and getting results against Spurs and Chelsea.’ So Ishola when the management team was handing down targets to Emery, it must have sounded like this: ‘Mr Emery, our collective aim is to improve our results when we play teams away from home, but nevertheless, we must emphasize at this point that we are not expecting to achieve those targets against Liverpool and Manchester City since they are much better sides and we must surrender to their majestic abilities’ Ishola it pains… Read more »

Your hero was dumb?

I knew we would get the truth sneaking out at some point.

Receding I’ve already said it is not wise against Spurs to linger in the central midfield too much because despite their obvious problems they are still strong in there compared to Arsenal and could win out in that area. I’d be looking to transition the ball quickly from midfield to attack but unfortunately this looks like it is not going to happen because as you say we have Xhaka who slows play down plus this playing out from the back stuff. Where Xhaka can come in handy in this game though is for balls over the top for Auba and… Read more »

Gentlebrebis, Rambo V and all their pals, no need to search for them if we beat the spuds this weekend, they won’t be around.

If you don’t want to grasp reality that is up to you.

Others are more grounded and see Liverpool at Anfield and Man City at Etihad as throw away fixtures.

We can hope we see a “performance” at Man City but the odds are stacked against.

Not at all interested in going down heroically at Man City if it means shipping 4,5, 6 goals.

Marko

Gentle you continue to show your stupidity. Literally there are two absolute gimmes in English football and that’s away at Anfield and the Etihad teams are going to lose. Your go out and express yourself opinion doesn’t matter one iota.

Marko

New post. Don’t tell Gentle though

Ishola70

And before somebody brings up Spurs draw at Man City they absolutely lucked out with that draw.

They were murdered in that match.

So there is hope if we can “luck out” at Man City.

I saw the game, caught it from the 55th mark. I went back and watch the full game.

Then again nowadays you don’t need to watch the game to know what happened. Btw social media, Youtube, your fellas, Gannon or Pedro or maybe Geoff, you will know what happened.
