We had a bit of a wait last season before he moved onto the new boys. Petr Cech had to land an injury and it felt like a while until Torreira was acclimated to the first team.
My personal view is we should push for David Luiz in the first team ASAP. If we don’t, he’ll not be fit for the BIG games that we have coming up. Really wouldn’t fancy Callum rolling against Spurs and Liverpool.
Hopefully, Pepe and Ceballos can ramp up their fitness as well. We’ll need to put in better performances over the next few weeks if we’re to come out the other end with a mighty fist full of points.

A midfield trio of Torreira, Willock, Guendouzi/Ceballos would work against Liverpool. Three mobile hard working midfielders.
In attack a trio of Nelson, Lacazette, Pepe/Aubameyang. Aubameyang hold-up play and link-up play is not as good as Lacazette. So Lacazette has to start in the middle. On the right defensively Pepe is more accustomed to defend from the front than Aubameyang, but offensively Aubameyang has already well established understanding with Lacazette.

It’s still nigh on impossible to call the season at the moment outside of City because ManU could still lose Pogba, the Spud’s will lose at least 2 of Eriksen, Aderweireld or Vertonghen. Chelsea have to adapt to an inexperienced manager and the loss of their best player and Liverpool did not add which as Cesc said earlier is never a good idea.

I agree with that midfield 3, we don’t really need them to be great just hard working and steady.
I’m not sure I’d go with Nelson, that is a big game and he can be a bit negative in possession. If he played like he did against Lyon and the first 20 minutes against Barcelona fine, but otherwise he might detrimentally impact the strategy.
If we wanted to throw a speedy rookie in because we didn’t want to play all 3 of the front men or we weren’t sure about Pepe I’d actually put Martinelli in ahead of Nelson.

Thing is you can start Chambers and get him to stay deeper – even making part of a back 3 when needed. We won’t need his width with Pepe starting, last season we were relying on from that from the full backs.

Our defense is not good enough to be constantly under preasure. If we decide that we don’t need to a striker who can hold up play, then we will be under constant pressure and the dam will break.

I still don’t think that they are a serious threat for that 4th spot but they’ve put in two really high quality performances in spells of both matches even if they go on to lose this.
They don’t have enough goals in them and I’m not convinced that they have a player that can make the step up and be a 20+ goal guy this season. Also give up too many chances at the other end.
