It’s been an excellent window, no question.
However, we need to be accurate about net spend.
Regarding the Pepe transfer, we have only made an upfront payment of £20 million, and the rest will be payed off in installments over- I think -the next four or five seasons.
That lowers actual net spend for this window to around £40 million.
The thing is, I don’t really care right now.
I admit I was sceptical about Arsenal’s obsessively ‘in budget’ approach, but to be fair , they’ve worked it beautifully this window, so I’m happy.

What I suggest is that the board should set a priority for Emery to focus on the League. Last year, Emery was feeling the pressure to win every competition. He really needs to rotate the players better. During the preseason, Emery used the 4 2 3 1 formation every game. He requested the two wingers to help out the two full backs when we are defending. I like Reiss Nelson’s defensive contribution. He tracks the runners very well. The same cannot be said of Micki. He acted more like a spectator. I wouldn’t rule out Manure. They have spent £130m to strengthen their defense. They are keeping only fast runners in the attack. Obviously, they’ll play a defense and fast counter style football. But I wouldn’t be surprised that their fast runners couldn’t find the net.
I’m already salivating at the idea of us signing Coutinho/Zaha, Upamecano and couple of CMs (Ceballos if he does great) next summer. We would fill all the holes in the team in 2 summers.
Sell Ozil, Mikki, Xhaka, Mustafi and Chambers (I think Elneny will be sold before the EU window closes). It would be fantastic.
I’m in doubt if Kolasinac is good enough for a reserve LB so imma leave the judgement on the club’s directors.

I have not listened to podcast but I’m guessing Pedro is happy gooner again going by title and terrific summer of transfers we had.

The CB roles will be fascinating this year. It will take 2 years for Saliba to be truly EPL ready and so the 2 year Luiz contract will be vital in preparing that ground. That is also probably the remaining useful economic life of Sokratis. So who emerges as a top CB out of Holding, Chambers, Mavrapanos and possibly Medley this season will be vital in deciding whether to go all out to get Upamecano. Marc some of these pundits have real problems objectively judging some teams such as Spurs United and Chelsea but never us. In their minds Spurs are capable of challenging for the title (they’re not) United have done brilliantly with signing Maguire (their attack is based solely around Rashford now which is awful) and Chelsea just with the addition of Lampard are in a good place.
