Pedro Have just listened to your Podcast and agree with lot of the sentiments expressed. Some points I would make. 1. Arsenal have in my view “planned” their transfer window. The only unplanned signings and departures were probably departure of Koscielny and arrival of Luiz. 2. All signings we have made were first or second choices. I’m sure I read somewhere the reason for Arsenal being hated goes back to the 1920s and 1930s…..Arsenal were a class apart then: dominant on the pitch, tube station named after the club, first club to install floodlights, marble halls, art deco stands…the club just oozed class that others couldn’t match in London, let alone the rest of the country.

You need to also factor in the hate created by the North South divide where the South was perceived as richer than the North and they disposed us for that.

With no CL to distract us I think we should beat Spurs to third this season. If we are lucky with injuries, we may even have the legs to push Liverpool for second, although that remains unlikely.

We got double what Iwobi was worth – great business. Selling him also means that Nelson and Martinelli will get more game time as back-ups on the left wing. Both have a higher ceiling than Iwobi, and after a season of being integrated in the squad we should see the value of both players rising to £20-30 million plus. It is amazing we have been able to do such good business while still having £30 million + per year tied up in wages for the useless Ozil, Mkhi and Mustafi.
