Well, well, well my dears.

The season draws to a close and the major battle is who finishes 5th or 6th (a distant chance at 4th). My money would be on United. They have an easier game, they don’t have a European final to play, our manager has a history of fielding weak players when he has the vivid taste of Europa in his mouth.

At this point, who really cares?

The objective of the season was Champions League football, so there’s no way Emery is going to do anything damaging in this game for the sake of a few million in prize money.

What I’d like to see is some of the kids given a game. I’d have hoped the manager was going field a few more younger players this season. The age-old banter years conundrum of ‘should I blood a player that’s maybe not ready, or an experienced player that’s shite.’ Today, it’s clear, give the kids a go.

Emery is being clear that his selection is about fitness and preparedness after landing at 6am after the Valencia game… WHICH, my brother, dad, brother in law and his dad went to… and were furious I didn’t mention (photo from brother, who is a DJ if you like trance). Anyway, back to Emery.

“Tomorrow we are going to prepare for Sunday’s match but I am going to decide with the players who are hungry and in good physical condition to play this match.”

The gameplan is simple.

“We are going to play with the idea of imposing our gameplan, our capacity and our team against them. We know it’s going to be a difficult match with long balls, second actions and set-pieces, so we need to defend well in these situations.”

Yep, we’re going to impose the game plan.

Key output of today is that we don’t pick up any injuries… then we can prepare with as much of our squad available as possible. Then it’s with the gods.

I’ll keep this post brief. If you want a great podcast to listen to, jump on the SECOND Arsenal Opinion of the week, this latest was done with guest star, Demian Arriaga. He grew up in Venezuela, so he has some great stories about how he got into Arsenal, and there’s a nice piece on the time he met Edu. He also played SNL last night, pretty epic.

Wait until the transfer speculation starts. This place is going to go nuts. Calm before the storm

  2. Leftsidesanch

I see some fans are already looking at potential signings Samesong

But the way things are sounding, I’m going to do myself a favour and not worry about it this summer.

  3. Graham62

Arsenal’s financial predicament was an accident waiting to happen.

If you’ve been allowed to drift for over a decade, without any accountability, what more do you expect?

Wenger and Gazidis must feel so ashamed of themselves.

    Yeh, right!

  4. TheLegendaryDB10

And here we are for our penultimate game of the season (I’m including our EL final ofc!).

I really would like to see The Arsenal win today. Show that they are proud of wearing our shirt. Is that too much to ask?

  5. Jeanette Kliger

Emery makes me so furious not playing Lacazette and Aubameyang together. You don’t have to be a genius to see that they make and score the most goals TOGETHER!!!
Just wanted to get that off my chest!

  6. TheLegendaryDB10

really strange and quiet in here, but not much is riding on today’s game

I think no one realised thst Pedro had posted a post. This includes me.

Pedro!!! What are you up to??!! 😀

  7. Gonsterous

Ozil left out? Willock given a start?
Let’s hope Chelsea pick up some injuries.
We are going to finish 5th, which is a.shame considering we had the easiest run in to finish 3rd.

  8. Un na naai

    Come on Brighton
As it stands Liverpool are title winners.
Brighton on the front foot and looking for a goal
Will Pep choke?? They aren’t looking too good at the minute

  9. Un na naai

    Get in Brighton
Fuckng called it didn’t I? They look well up for it
    City look shit

    A win for football
    Fuck the oil clubs

  10. Gonsterous

1-1 in the blink of an eye, I think city will win now, always a question of getting that first goal.

  11. omar

Imagine the state of the table going into the last game and Pep decides to tinker with his line up and formation. It has all backfired so far. Not the time to be arrogant Mr Guardiola.

  12. Rambo Ramsey

The man who continues bottles Finals VS the man who hasn’t won a trophy in his life.

Gosh, what an exciting CL finals we have.

  13. Un na naai

Rambo. I’d walk over hot coals and broken glass to have either in favour of our current coach

  14. omar

The man who continues bottles Finals VS the man who hasn’t won a trophy in his life.Gosh, what an exciting CL finals we have.

And the Europa finals is the man who specializes in winning it vs another man who hasn’t won a trophy in his life.

  15. useroz

Pathetic. Slow, too many touches, no movements, snail pace, … never learn.

Mavro not up to it hopefully just rusty. Oh….already injured. Recurring???

    Elneny so nothing.

  16. Jamie

Relying on Mavro to make an impact next season perhaps isn’t the smart play. He’s managed, what, 5 appearances in 2 years?

  17. Samesong

Pathetic. Slow, too many touches, no movements, snail pace, …
    Theme all season long!

    Laporte my type of defender.

  18. HighburyLegend

Why so much moaning today ?? Is today’s game more important than the ELC final ??

  19. Marko

Arteta complaining about the pitch. Apparently he’s offered to cut it at halftime to make himself useful

  20. prvhc

Why do people want City to lose ? Because they’re funded by oil money ? Too bad Liverpool are paupers, they only have the most expensive defender in the world and the second most expensive goalkeeper.
From a purely footballing perspective,City have clearly been the better team. Liverpool have been extremely lucky throughout the season.Their expected goal difference is 45 to the actual 65.

  21. HighburyLegend

We already being forced to support the scousers vs the spuds, one game is enough, please…

Let them lose the PL title one more time, and they will be even more motivated to win the CL.

  22. Leftsidesanch

Yep, no way I’d want Liverpool to win the league when we NEED them to win the Champions League.

  23. Receding Hairline

Samesong I don’t even trust Liverpool to win the CL. That’s where they are really gonna piss me off.

I need them to lose the league so they demolish spurs, if spurs win the CL this place will be unbearable .

  24. Al

Mikhi really does not care. His attitude as a player is just appalling. Sooner we get rid of his type the better

Iwobi confidence as a player is completely shot. He is just soo scared to do anything with the ball just turns and lays it off.

He needs selling because if he is struggling confidence wise this year when the pressure hasn’t really been on the club the same it has previous years he will never be able to be relied on.

  25. Bueleydave

As it stands we are 30 points off the leaders. 30 points. That is not all.or even mainly down to money.

  26. omar

City has been the better team this season. Lots of Liverpool’s goals have been spotted as offside goals or offside in the build up that werent picked up by the officials. Also let offs such as Mahrez missing that penalty, Pickford taking the last kick of the game from going out and handing Liverpool a goal. If VAR is called fairly next season, I dont see Liverpool repeating this season.

  27. Danny

The commentator on the stream I’m watching called Mkhitaryan rubbish for his free kick attempt at the end of the half – rubbish! What a crap player.

  28. Samesong

Football is a such simple game.

I could play any position on the pitch.

Why does Iwobi have so many issues, what is it ?

RH Spurs win CL I will be depressed for months.

  29. Danny

it will be the end of Le Grove
Why? Who gives a flyin’ fuck about Spurs, they can fuck off forever.

  30. Un na naai

Do you know what I mean? These kids these days have no footballing brain. Too
Much council estate trash these days. Its why we are littered with wide players and not enough central midfielders who can dominate a game properly.

  31. azed

All year, Valentin has been moaning about Emery not playing Mavropanos but the dude makes Diaby look fit.

  32. Gonsterous

I think it’s good that hazard will play the final, since Chelsea seem to switch off when he’s on the pitch, they expect him to do everything. We just have to neutralise him.

  33. useroz

Reporters need to up the RM interest on Auba tomorrow. Btw, the fee has just gone up 5m to 75m…cash

  34. Samesong

I coached a 14 year old two years ago. this lad was huge for his age. I mean he looked like an 18 year old. Had the most amazing tricks but no footballing brain. He was also a winger.

But guess what. He went to Barnet and they converted him to a CB and after a season he now playing at Wolves.

  35. Samesong

Utd 2-0 down at home to Cardiff. OGS pizzazz. He’s an excellent manager.

That’s the OGS BBQ sauce mate!

  36. Leftsidesanch

To call Ole excellent was as premature as they come, with comments like that Bam can sit in the naughty room for a little while longer

  37. Champagne Charlie

Whoever makes the managerial appointments at United is as qualified as Marko is with transfers

  38. TR7

Woodward is such a silly and impressionable buffoon. Sacks and appoints managers on the basis of reaction of the media, pundits and fans. He has no footballing brain.

  39. Just Another Customer

lol yeah Auba is more dangerous coming from the right

and look who got the assist too

  40. Dream10

Mahrez feint made Lewis Dunk right out of the Amex

Arteta masterclass in coaching. Guardiola doing admirable work as an assistant
