Loved all the tepid takes last night post the Barca victory.
‘GUARDIOLA IS SHIT’ (Do what?!)
‘IT WAS MESSI THAT WON IT’
‘KLOPP IS A FRAUD’
Messi is a great player, he’s a difference maker, but he didn’t alone keep one of the most potent attacking forces in world football at bay for 90minutes. This bullshit notion it’s all about him doesn’t rub against the facts. They’ve won the CL twice since 2010. If they make the final this year, it’s good management, and an excellent squad.
Also: Guardiola isn’t a shit manager. He’s one of the best in the game. If you don’t understand that, you’ve spent too much time following accounts of teenagers named @Xhakologist⁸ ⁹.
Saying the most outrageous thing you can think of in the moment isn’t analysis. Also, you know the other accounts I detest?
‘Laurent Koscielny has been with the club 10 years. He gave his best moments to the project because he believed. He’s never complained once. He put his body on the line, he did that for you, because he loves you. His mere presence is an intimate moment, he is your soulmate, but remember, he’ll always ask permission before he touches your heart. xxx’
Faux Twitter badge kissing makes me want to vomit, come at me with real authenticity, not this cooked up romanticised bullshit. If that’s you liking the posts, tell a friend what you did and deal with the consequences you utter disgrace.
ANOTHER THING, stop nostalgiarising (NEW WORD) the bland Arsene Wenger comments he keeps dropping in TV appearances. The man literally said there was too much science in the game and that fatigue is nonsense.
Remember all the drips telling me the redzone didn’t exist? That Wenger would never run a player into the ground? When the manager blamed his injury crisis on hair pills? There you have it, in black and white, being celebrated by people on Twitter with comments like, ‘I miss my daddy.’
What is it with the cucks?
LOOK AT THIS ONE! Coaches don’t cost you games? ARE YOU KIDDING? And what are the commenters saying?
‘Look at that man in those sexy black rimmed glasses’
WHAT! He is trying to defend his last 10 years by saying he was a £10m a year irrelevance EVEN THOUGH he bought the shite players, and you want to talk about his glasses?
Honestly, I need to tap out of the internet for a bit.
Also… Klopp isn’t a fraud, regardless of the trophy issue. I know it’s fun to say it, but you need to grow up, ok?
Liverpool had a rough night, let’s all calm down and wait until next week to pop the ‘thank fuck the UNBEARABLE scousers didn’t win something’ Tizer or whatever those reprobates drink these days.
The big night is always Thursday night. We all know this.
Two giants of football step foot into the Emirates cauldron to save a season that has flipped over the central reservation into on-coming tractors (a metaphor for shit teams, I know, it was clunky).
Thankfully for Emery, the game is at home.
That means progressive Arsenal. We ‘should’ see a performance. This is Emery’s trophy and he’s going to need to do everything he can to give us a commanding first-leg lead against a side we really should comfortably beat if we put out a proper side.
This Valencia side isn’t exactly brimming with talent like it was when Bayern Munich avenged their Champions League failure of 1999 with a penalty shootout victory over Hector Cuper’s side in 2001.
Remember the names? John Carew… the original Drogba. A player who was actually a bit average imo, but a towering man-beast who terrified our players and put us out of Europe twice. Pablo Aimar, Roberto Ayala, Gaika Mendieta, and Santiago Canizares! Remember when Claudio Lopez was a thing? Teamtalk classic when he was linked to us! Thems were the days…
Anyway, right now, it’s not quite as sexy… Coquelin and Gabriel are a thing. Mustafi made his name in the white shirt of Valencia. Gary Neville crashed his rep taking a job with them. Need I say more? Their top scorer this year is centre mid Dani Parejo with 9 goals in 33 games, followed Rodrigo who is a striker and has 5 in 30.
… so someone in their side is getting a hattrick tomorrow. Amirite?!
I am hoping that they’ll be as weak as Napoli. They’re 6th in their league, with 52 points from 35 games. They’ve only conceded 32 goals compared to our 49. So their problem is a lack of goals… which is like, the perfect connect for our back 5.
I have no idea what to expect. The leaks in the press this week don’t bode well for a happy camp, nor do the three losses on the bounce. But, this is a cup game, it’s a big European night and the Champions League spot for the players is worth a small fortune on a personal level. It’s in their interest to do something great.
DO IT LADS.
I truly think we’ll qualify for the Champions League this year because Emery has consistently demonstrated a knack for having things fall his way… it’s just how it’s going to be.
Wouldn’t it be delicious if he won a trophy before that FRAUD, Jurgen Klopp?
It would.
Right, see you in the comments… COME ON ARSENAL!
P.S. Read my post from yesterday if you didn’t… took me fucking ages (READ)
P.P.S Aaron Ramsey is done at Arsenal. He bowed out with a hamstring injury that came with complications.
Elite levels of poetry in that exit.
P.P.P.S Thank you to Alfred for telling me that ‘pep’ is pepper. Took a Swede to make it right. That’s how fucked our education system is these days, the English are all thick as pig shit. #VoteCorbyn
Love how you pipe up when Xhaka does something good Charles but you’re quite as a baby lamb when he continually fucks up. Very objective of you.
Mustafi. Jeez man. I wonder if he realises that nearly every fan thinks he’s crap?
Guendouzi plays so casually, when he’s not nearly talented or intelligent enough to get away with it.
JoeMay 2, 2019 20:32:42
That should shut up most of your armchair managers
___
Weren’t you saying “Emery out” just a few days ago?
Xhaka is passing much better.
Xhaka is getting plenty of space and time to get those crosses in and good ones.
Valencia look less threatening now
Auba should have controlled it and slotted it in
Freddy
Yeah but those goals consisted of interplay with several players. At least 4 depending on how far back you go.
I know you hate the fact the the team are now proving that they are capable of beating good sides and winning trophies if the right tactics are deployed with a bit of motivation but tough shit.
Cheer up.
Mustafi being mustafi. Never want to see him in an arsenal kit again
wtf was that from Mustafi
Poor
Can we sub guen off now?thanks
Top striker would have that on target. Or, had time for a touch…
Another Mustafi special joke. Never fucking learn. Giving away stupid FKs….
We need more goals. We’ll concede at least 3 in the away leg. Can’t keep missing decent chances like this.
Auba did have time with that cross. could easily take a touch put the defender on his arse and slot it in. he’s no Henry.
Mustafi should not be in the field though.
We are our own enemies.
I’d support us giving Mustafi away for nothing in the summer. Let some other mug pay his wage.
thought AMN should have looked for Kola at the far post there first time.
Thomas
No. I said if he wins Europa he gets to Jan to show us something.
If he doesn’t he will probably get to nov before he has to show us something or the crowd will turn.
Very disappointed in the last 3 results. Unforgivable. But if he wins us Europa he gets a bit of breathing room to show improvement with a TW to bring in some players
Mongo
Are you watching? This absolutely garbage squad is winning again. Thought the squad was paper thin? Thought they were tired? Thought emery had NOTHING to work with??
Haha. What a fallacy
Sound like a broken record but again it speaks volumes of the squad that you have two players in AMN and Guendouzi who aren’t remotely ready for first team action at Arsenal starting in such an important match. We should have better options than this.
Un na
I gave you far more credit than you deserve, you’re really slow.
Who the fuck has ever said that none of them can have good moments or produce a good pass/tackle/cross on occasion?
Most of them are still not good enough or consistent enough.
I would love it if we managed to win the europa, would mean more money to get better players and CL to entice them with. You know, so we can bin off some of these wasters and actually make serious improvements.
Mongo
Hate to break it to you but we ain’t Man City. Spurs are in champions league semi final with a 14 man squad and third int he league without spending a penny for 3 transfer windows (under two years)
Ohhh Ozil goes on a dribble and gets absolutely nowhere.
How lovely
Need to win 4 – 1 tonight.
As it is, that’s possible.
Just don’t screw it up. And stop those stupid flicks
watching this makes you laugh when you see the quality of the liverpool Barca game last night. Light year behind that we are. different bloody sport.
gambonMay 2, 2019 20:34:11
lukeI more meant that Chelsea will be knackered for sunday, having to chase an away game for 70 mins.
——————-
Ahhh I see. Brilliant then.
Yeah.
Pep can turn Xhaka to Xabi alonso and Mustafi to Ramos.
Sell these idiots at the very first opportunity.
Cheski got 1.. 1-1 now.
Un
Come on Trump. We need two CBs. We need a couple wingers. We need to replace Ramsey.
Mustafi. Kos. Need to be replaced.
Only players that should be in our starting lineup next season are laca, aubu, maybe ozil.
What was Kola doing there? Just needs a low hard cross and we’ll probably score. and he puts it row Z out for a throw.
To be fair to Ozil he’s not shiing away he’s getting involved. The two full backs are playing pathetically
Ozil is making some really good runs.
Guendouzi is raw and will probably cost us a goal. Emery needs to help him with positioning. Young lad is all over the shop
This is still Wengerball style football, there’s no difference at all.
Emery has done diddlyshit this year
Kola’s cross is so blind.
Özil, Auba and Lacazette playing well.
Jesus what was that cross from Kolasinac?
We have some thick footballers smh
Can’t progress with some of this lot
Guendouzi not up to it tonight.
Kolac needs to control his crosses or whatever
Ozil needs to step up. Ok but not enough.
Guen has fallen away second half of the season. you rarely see him make a key pass.
Plenty of lols when Xhaka’s on the pitch am I right Charles
Freddy
and I would also be happy with an improved playing squad. Of course. But I don’t think these players are so bad that they should be throwing away 9 points and 9 goals on the bounce. They are better than that.
To be honest. Had Garay scored, it would have been very difficult to recover from being 0-2 down.
On Özil
I actually think he’s done well tonight. He’s lovely, he’s buzzing around making things happen. I’d be happy for ozil to look this interested more regularly
Lucky to be ahead but we’ll take it.
Laca took both goals well even if their GK made a hash of 2nd one, couple of good crosses from Xhaka, Auba looks lively, we’ve only conceded once.
About it for positives, pretty shocking game of football tbh.
Unconvincing overall team display bailed out by Lacazette.
The good news is that things improved as the half wore on and Valencia look vulnerable to conceded another goal or two.
Natural sub is Torreira for Guendouzi who looks a bit silly out there
Arsenal are in aEuropean semi and all you are doing is bitching amongst yourself
They are better than that yet that is exactly what happened. Or are u saying all losses are on the manager while the wins are on the fantastic players Un na nai ?
Change the record
Wenger Eagle
Just hope we don’t sit back. We’ve dropped pts this year trying to absorb pressure, when we’re absolutely not built for it
I think Leno has a chance to stop that goal. Cech moved across too slowly.
Arsenal 2-1 up @ The Library. It would appear judging by the number of empty seats with 5 minutes to half time, the only time most home supporters open their mouths is to stuff something edible in it.
Guendouzi was always going to be rubbish tonight. Has been rubbish since the turn of the year. Concentrates more on the training pics than the actual training.
Emery wants him to be some sought of success story but he is nowhere that good
Rh
Obviously not. The team is a collective
But the coach is responsible for the way the team is set up, the footballing philosophy, the defencive shape, the psychology of the team. Yes the team needs upgrades but when you lose 3 on the bounce to mid table sides then that’s on the manager more than the players.
Anyway
We are winning.
We have a goal in us, look dangerous, but absolutely porous at the back. Sort it out Wenger
Ozil is lively not lovely 😊
Un na The problem is we have so few players with any quality that when we’re missing a couple due to fatigue/injuries/suspension or god forbid we have to rotate because we’re playing every 3 days we have nothing to fall back on. We especially struggle against athletic teams with power and pace, mainly because we don’t have any ourselves. When we’re fresh and have a full squad to choose from we can make it work. We have so many weak/old players that we’re absolutely shot now. I still hope we can stumble into the CL and do a massive rebuild… Read more »
Guendouzi has the tools to be a great player, but frankly he is playing far far far oo much.
He should be in Elnenys role, playing 10 odd games per season.
Emery just starts him far too much.
What tools does he have out of curiosity?
I second eagles question
What tools exactly are we talking about besides his hair? Point one think he is very good at
Freddy
I wouldn’t disagree with any of that. But we both know that this team should be sitting pretty third now, that’s my argument, not that we don’t require upgrades.
Fran Merida had more about him than Guendouzi
Still vulnerable at the back so the only way to progress is to score many more at home to max out our chance.
We can’t be as wasteful as usual. Again, cut out as much side and back passes, and take shots.
WE
He has good feet in tight spaces. Something none of our other midfielders have, just a shame it’s coupled with poor vision and bad decision making
I think Leno has a chance to stop that goal. Cech moved across too slowly.
I’m sorry but the goal was on that useless cunt Xhaka 6ft 1 and he doesn’t get off the ground. Pathetic stuff
midfield and defence is LOLZ. must focus on attack.
Champagne charlie “We have a goal in us, look dangerous, but absolutely porous at the back. Sort it out Wenger” Yes very Wengeresque. We had years and years of Wenger scrimping on defence and going big on attack and tbh it could be seen as understandable considering the financial constraints in comparison to others and hoping to pigeon shoot to glory. But what it has left is imbalance and we still see it to this day. Laca and Auba are why Arsenal are still in with outside chance of top four. Going to take a bit more time to address… Read more »
I ask the exact same thing about Xhaka honestly. What is it that he’s supposed to be good at? What exactly does he add? Guendouzi has an excuse he’s 19 with 19 Ligue two appearences under his belt prior to joining but what’s Granite’s excuse?
Their tall midfielder had a yellow already. Attack him and induce another yellow.
Riess Nelson would be a better option than Xhaka or Guen they are that bad. We play like this next week and we’ll get spanked
Who is defending Xhaka?
“What tools does he have out of curiosity?”
I saw the other day that he is one of the top forward passers, and ball progressors in Europe. He can tackle, covers a lot of ground, and passes well
He has just played way too much.
He’s the same age as Chris Willock, but has played 42 times.
The most he’s ever played in a season before is 21 games.
The hearty Sokratis skinned alive there.
It also doesnt help that Guendouzi is playing alongside one of the least reliable players in world football.
Thats on Emery.
Dont pair up a 19 year old rookie with a mistake machine that cant run.
Mustafi and Maitland-Niles are two of the worst defenders I’ve ever seen
Marko “I ask the exact same thing about Xhaka honestly. What is it that he’s supposed to be good at? What exactly does he add? ” He puts in some nice crosses at times like in this match and some decent passing at times but unfortunately if we are talking about complete midfielder he has some shit baggage with him. The pure Wengerites would be happy to see both Xhaka and Ozil play week in week out because they don’t care of the off the ball consequences of playing them all the time. They just care about attack and on… Read more »
That’s better ozil
Realistically given our away record and defensive fragilities we need another two or three goals to make sure we survive when we go over to Valencia… shame we conceded a goal so early… although it did jolt us awake.
gambon
You do realise that Guen has played too many games because we lack options right? Same reason why he’s being paired with Xhaka, lack of options.
Willock isn’t an option yet no matter what Valentin dreams up and Torreira can’t fill 2 position by himself or play every game so the only other option is Elneny who shouldn’t be at the club nevermind starting.
Kos can’t move anymore.
Freddie
It isnt quite lack of options though is it.
Emery benched Ramsey for half the season.
Kos playing cam there
WengerEagle
“The hearty Sokratis skinned alive there.”
Dig? lol
It seems you were not really taking on what was said about Sokratis earlier.
Yes he is a stop gap, yes he is slow, yes he is past his best but he shows despite all this as a defence first CB rather than a footballer CB that Wenger so craved.
So hopefully in the future we get in better versions of Sokratis who are first defence CBs rather than pussy footballing CBs.
How Wengerite are you WE? lol
Those triangles at both flanks look quite pathetic, slow and useless most of the time.
Need something different.
Brilliant from koscielney
Sav caking Jo’s our for making the run, fuck me they had 8 men back we need a bit of dynamism to unlock this, 2vb and 2 cm should be enough to deal with a counter. Unfortunate for us it’s not
Ozil you dopey cunt
“You do realise that Guen has played too many games because we lack options right? Same reason why he’s being paired with Xhaka, lack of options.”
Oh give me peace. We have Elneny, not good enough then sell him in the summer? We have chambers on loan playing CM, we drafted in Suarez instead of Tielemans…
Stop the poverty stuff, please.
Calling out kos
Fuck me finally he’s off, average
Torr on for Guen
About time
We should shoot more.
Emery full on making out with Torreria there
And yet Ramsey is injured and can’t finish the season when needed the most… So much for not tiring them out.
Playing too much isn’t an excuse, they say the young players like to play anyway. He just isn’t as good as most of you will like to believe but to each his own. To say he is good but is being harmed by a coach who plays him is rubbish I’m sorry to say.
Kos getting frustrated and pushing into MF. not sure that’s a good idea though but he’s basically saying where are Guen and Xhaka?
Ramsey was injured for a while no? Big surprise there. Then he was benched before the January window, I’m guessing because we wanted juve to pay a fee and take him early and we didn’t want him to predictably break down again.
Outside the last couple of weeks he hasn’t really been great in CM either other than a handful of matches here and there. Hardly ideal when our defence is fragile as fuck.
It isnt quite lack of options though is it.Emery benched Ramsey for half the season.
One player doesn’t play and then a green 19 year is called upon that sounds like the definition of a lack of options.
We are losing our intensity again. Our sense of purpose
This is emery’s arsenal at our worst if this doesn’t pick up
Let’s see some fucking drive
Great defending from Sok.
No nonsense defending oldschool. Defender first.
Shame that he has his limitations
An yes Ishola, disagree on a player and label other poster a Wengerite as a defence of said player.
Original I’ll give you that.
We should stop this stupid tiki taka
One player doesn’t play and then a green 19 year is called upon that sounds like the definition of a lack of options.
Mongo
Emery chose to play him. He wasn’t forced to. If you only had a Brain
