Umtihehehe linked + Suarez lands a chance + Sven saga twist

by .

I AM BACK GOOD PEOPLE OF THE INTERNET.

Sorry for the lack of delicious content this week, I am working on a pitch for a super cool client and it has dominated me. Not in a sexy way either. However, I am back now, and so is football.

So what’s going down in the hood?

Brexit? What a laugh. The only thing I really care about in this whole situation is whether it allows Arsenal to buy more young South American players. Really don’t understand why there are laws concerning the issue to start with. Of all the problems Britain has, one of them isn’t bringing in super rich high spending Brazilians.

Get me the next Messi, please.

Unai Emery has spoken about the beautiful Denis Suarez.

“He is OK for starting in the first XI, to give us this impact.

“We are going to need everybody, every player for the next matches.

“Now we have a lot of players ready, with a big mentality and with a big performance to play and help us.”

Love the crisp clarity of his prose. Suarez has looked a little bit bland so far, but I swear I can recall a pretty good counterattack he was part of that had potential. He is also pretty and I am comfortable repeating that over and over.

Arsenal are being linked with… BIG SAM UMTITI. The story is coming from the Independent, so about as reliable as Michael Owen’s hamstrings. My thoughts on this one:

  • Arsenal don’t have big dick swinging money this summer, he’s not going for anything less than £80m
    • His contract runs until 2023
  • Umtiti is a very good player, even with Champions League we’d be a big step down
  • Barca have nearly or have signed De Ligt for £80m, he’s a bit good, I’d suspect the Frenchman is a bit worried
    • I think his agent is setting off warning flares to get reassurances from the Barcelona board

Needless to say, we are not shopping in that market this summer unless there’s been a serious change of heart OR Arsenal brought back more than a tan from Dubai.

Talking of the Independent writing bollocks, remember when they dropped a story about Sven leaving for Bayern after they read my piece? In a twist if DELICIOUS irony, he could end up taking over the technical director role over at Roma.

FFS, Arsenal have been bent over a barrel on this one. Once again making decisions on the fly without a really good plan a, b and c on the table. Sven is going to wreck our summer and he’s going to be a man possessed when it comes to proving out he’s capable of delivering.

Let’s see how that one works out!

Right, I am going to be back in the hotseat tomorrow, regular as The Sun and a morning whatever…

See you in the comments. x

Correlation is not causation, Pierre. You have to demonstrate that Ozil had a specific influence and impact in those matches.

You also have to deal with the fact that he wasn’t played in our more difficult matches for a time.

As I said the other day, everyone agrees that we are better when we have a creative, technical, CAM-type playing underneath the forwards, but Ozil hasn’t demonstrated that that player needs to be him. At the moment, he might be the best option (maybe, probably?), but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be looking to sell him in the summer.

The other point I made was that Ramsey has been far more influential than Ozil has in terms of why we have been better in certain important matches.

  2. Crimson

    No chance of signing Umtiti.
Suarez will be on the bench Monday.
    Good luck to Liverpool tomorrow.
Mavropanos or even Sheaf to start over mustafi.
    Ohh and revoke article 50.

  3. Bamford10

A compare / contrast between Ozil and Pogba is somewhat instructive.

Pogba hasn’t even had that great of a season, but he has 11 goals and 9 assists in 2,292 PL minutes.

Ozil, in contrast, has 4 goals and 2 assists in 1,269 PL minutes.

If you break these numbers down over 90 minutes, you get:

    POGBA
    .43 goals per 90 minutes
    .35 assists per 90 minutes

    OZIL
    .28 goals per 90 minutes
    .14 assists per 90 minutes

Thus, in general, Pogba is roughly twice as productive as Ozil in the attacking third.

Why is everyone getting their knickers in a twist over Ozil ..whether I or anyone else want him sold or not , it makes no difference, he’s going nowhere due to the ridiculous contract that the club offered to him .

As for his performances , we are winning football matches and performing better as a team with him in the side ….until that changes then he should play.

I’m sure Emery will rotate which mean Ozil and others will be left out of the side but I expect him to start v Newcastle and in Europe , after that it depends on how well be plays.

As for Ramsey being more influential , he has played decent as a centre mid the last couple of games and should probably stay in the side as he has aquired( at long last) some discipline which is an essential ingredient for a 2 man central midfield role.
Prior to that he was tried as a CAM and was found wanting and played in a 3 man midfield in a 4-3-3 system that hasn’t really suited the team, hence the return to 4-2-3-1 or wing backs which is proving to be more successful.

Ramsey and Ozil returning to the side since the Bate defeat have both helped bring a balance and stability to the side….It was a mistake for Emery to marginalize them both from the team during our poor run but thankfully he has rectified his mistake.

    Pierre

I don’t think anyone is getting their knickers in a twist, it’s just that your insistence on Ozil’s importance or influence isn’t supported by the facts. You’ve also criiicized the manager for not including Ozil when in reality he was absolutely correct to leave Ozil out at times. You know very well what you’re doing, and you deserve every rebuttal your commentary engenders.

  6. Dream10

Ffs Watford wasted opportunities. Some shoddy defending from them as well. They better not defend like Baresi and Maldini when we play them

  7. Dream10

Wolves two down against Burnley. They struggle against sides they’re supposed to beat. Bet they would prefer to play the top 6 every week instead. No Raul Jimenez today. Key player for them

  8. Marc

    Dream10

I think you could also see a little bit of Cup dreaming from Wolves. They’re safe in the PL, winning the FA Cup would turn a great season into a legendary one.

  9. Victorious

Watford flattered to deceive against united, really, huff and puff with a cutting edge of a spoon

You can bet they’d play us back at their home as if it’s a cup final

Wish they could do us a favor today, United are my biggest worry in the top4 battle

hopefully spuds get their asses handed to them tomorrow

  10. Marc

    Victorious

The Spud’s also have City and Bournemouth away plus Palace and West Ham at home. I wouldn’t be surprised if they dropped points in a home match, West Ham would love to be the first team to win at the toilet seat.

  11. Victorious

Very true Marc, spuds are the biggest bottle job in the league, but for some reasons I fear if they get a result against dippers tmao they might just about hold their shit this time..hope I’m wrong

We’ve got a great chance this season to take a CL spot and start shaping up as a serious club again

Really want to see us in a CL again, The EL is bog standard at best and I’m sick and tired of seeing us playing shitt teams in there

  12. Marko

whereas since Emery has arrived Ozil’s stats have nosedived.

Yeah last two seasons he went from 9 assists to then 8 to now 3 he’s been declining a longer than Emery’s been here. Only a disingenuous weird little creep would try to pin the frog eyed Fortnite junkie’s decline as a footballer on Wenger’s replacement

  13. Pierre

    Bamford
“Ozil’s importance or influence isn’t supported by the facts. ”

Is the fact that Arsenal lost 7 games in 14 games without Ozil in the starting line up not relevant.

Is the fact that since our defeat to Chelsea back in August , Ozil has started 17 games the team has only lost one game and that was basically due to Sokratis red card v Rennes and then Emery cocking it up tactically.

Put it this way , it doesn’t look like he has a bad influence on the side does it , the opposite in fact.

I could quite easily produce numbers of how much better the team performs offensively and defensively with Ozil in the side.

Remember, ball retention takes the pressure off the defence…I’m not sure the manager has quite got that right yet but he is improving in that area.

  14. Marko

Put it this way , it doesn’t look like he has a bad influence on the side does it , the opposite in fact.

You have not provided any evidence of his influence whether he’s involved or not. Not once. Because you can’t. Or because you’re stupid. Stating his involvement in games that we happen to win doesn’t prove an influence. By that same logic you can call Iwobi more influential since he’s played in more games than Ozil.

Arsenal score almost TWICE as many goals without £300,000-a-week Mesut Ozil on the pitch… Unai Emery may have been right to leave him out for Bournemouth clash

    By Anthony Hay for MailOnline

Mesut Ozil was dropped for Arsenal’s 2-1 win at Bournemouth on Sunday

Stats show Arsenal are performing more effectively without the German
Arsenal have beaten West Ham, Fulham and Bournemouth without Ozil
Unai Emery appeared to take a huge gamble when he decided to drop Mesut Ozil for Arsenal’s clash at Bournemouth but stats show his decision was completely justified.

The Spanish tactican has shown he is not afraid to leave the £300,000-a-week star on the bench despite the German’s undoubted ability.

Emery said he wanted players who will roll their sleeves up and be prepared for a battle – something that is not in Ozil’s locker.

‘We thought how we can be better in the match, a very demanding match with physicality and intensity,’ Emery said when asked about the former Real Madrid man.

The Arsenal boss is not the first manager to question Ozil’s mentality as Jose Mourinho labelled the German a ‘cry baby and coward’ during their time together at Real Madrid.

Emery obviously has the same doubts about the 30-year-old who Arsene Wenger refused to drop despite Ozil’s struggles throughout his five-year spell in north London.

This season’s stats show Arsenal are performing more efficiently in the Premier League without Ozil.

Arsenal have won all three games (against West Ham, Fulham and Bournemouth) without Ozil.

Ozil missed Arsenal’s matches against West Ham and Fulham through illness and injury respectively, so Sunday marked the first time Emery dropped his club’s highest earner.

    LEAGUE GAMES OZIL HAS MISSED
August 25: Arsenal 3-1 West Ham

    October 7: Fulham 1-5 Arsenal

    November 25: Bournemouth 1-2 Arsenal

In those three games, Arsenal have averaged 3.3 goals without their supposed star man and only 1.8 with him.

They are also conceding fewer goals with Arsenal’s opponents scoring one goal a game when Ozil is playing compared to 1.3 when he does feature.

Their win percentage drops from 100 per cent to 50 per cent when Ozil is involved.

The only real statistic that is in Ozil’s favour is the fact Arsenal’s average possession drops slightly, from 60.10% to 57.30%, when the German does not play.

  16. Marc

    Pierre

“Is the fact that Arsenal lost 7 games in 14 games without Ozil in the starting line up not relevant.”

Depends who you are playing. This is exactly the same argument made against Bamford re OGS yesterday. Please list the matches we lost without Ozil in the team – I’m betting you won’t because it will show your argument up.

That November Anthony Hay article Red posted above is fairly damning to Ozil and Pierre, and it fully vindicates Emery for leaving Ozil out for a time.

It’s true that since then it’s become apparent that we need more creativity and vision and technical ability in the XI than we had at times, but it isn’t clear that Ozil has been all that effective when he has been in the XI or that Ozil is essential to our playing well. He has probably helped a little at times, but how much he has helped is unclear. When you look at his goals, assists and chances created, it doesn’t look like he’s been all that productive.

  20. Marko

but it isn’t clear that Ozil has been all that effective when he has been in the XI or that Ozil is essential to our playing well.

Since his “reinstatement” (though I’d prefer to think of it as him giving up on illnesses and deciding to play football again) he has contributed one goal and one assist. Anyway you look at it HE’S having a terrible season. His decline is undeniable. None of it can be leveled at Wenger Low or Emery least of all

  21. Pierre

Nov 26 that article was published ….

Since Nov 26 we have lost 8 games ( eight) and Ozil started one of those games ((Rennes away) .

    Since Nov 26
Arsenal without Ozil starting (all competitions)
    Played 15
    Won 7
    Lost 7
    drawn 1

Goals for 25….over 1.5 per game
Goals against 24( twenty four) ….over 1.5 goals per game

With Ozil starting ( all competitions)
    Played 9
    Won..7
    Lost 1
    Drawn 1

Goals for 21……over 2 goals per game
Goals against 7 ( seven) ..less than one goal per game

GAME SET AND MATCH I do believe ….

    Bamford
“That November Anthony Hay article Red posted above is fairly damning to Ozil and Pierre, and it fully vindicates Emery for leaving Ozil out for a time.”

you’re showing your ignorance of the matter , let me help …at the start of the season with Ozil in the side we lost to city and Chelsea when Emery’s tactics were all over the place …

The results with Ozil in the side after the Chelsea game until Nov 26 were

    Win 3-2
    Win 2-1
    Win 2-0
    Win 2-0
    Win 3-1
    Draw 1-1
    Draw 2-2
    Draw 1-1

These are all league games plus he came on as sub in a couple of Europa games in which we won 4-2 and 3-0 but they are irrelevant.

Can you tell me how those results vindicate Emery leaving Ozil out of the side.

  23. Dissenter

    Pierre
“Ramsey and Ozil returning to the side since the Bate defeat have both helped bring a balance and stability to the side”

It seems you’re trying desperately to use Ramsey’s grace and quality this season to burnish Ozil’s average performances.

I’m not knocking Ozil. I hope he regains his form and leads us to Europa League glory.

  24. Marc

    Pierre

“GAME SET AND MATCH I do believe ….”

Only in proving you are a cunt with a huge agenda. The eight matches we lost after 26th Novemeber are as follow (competition – team – home / away):

    PL – Liverpool – A
    League Cup – Spud’s – H
    PL – Southampton – A
    FA – ManU – H
    PL – West Ham – A
    EL – Bate – A
    PL – City – A
    EL – Rennes – A

Ozil played in the Rennes match so that doesn’t count (matches where he would have made a difference 7 left), Liverpool and City away in the league he wouldn’t have made any difference at all (5 left), if winning a couple of Europa League matchers are irrelevant when he takes part so are the ones we lose when he doesn’t so Bate (4 left), ManU in the FA Cup was doing OK until we lost both Sokratis and Kos to bad tackles (3 left), Spud’s in the League Cup our back 5 consisted on Cech – not the player he was, Monreal – clearly wasn’t fit and Xhaka – cant’ defend as a CM let alone a CB, oh yeah it’s the fucking league cup who gives a fuck (2 left). That leaves Southampton and West Ham both away in the PL – both were abject performances.

Ozil a player who is widely seen as someone who disappears in away matches anyway and you want to tell me he would have made a difference in those two?

You’re not even embarrassing yourself anymore I don’t know what the word is for what you’re doing. What’s the saying “a fanatic is someone who can’t change his mind and won’t change the subject”.

Fuck me you make religious zealots seem objective.

  25. Marko

Goals for 21……over 2 goals per game
Goals against 7 ( seven) ..less than one goal per game GAME SET AND MATCH I do believe ….

He has 3 assists all season and the lazy fucker never tracks back. So no game set and match. You trying to give him credit for our goals scored when he has 3 assists is embarrassing. You trying to attain any credit to him for improved defensive performances is laughable. You’re on a troll for sure

  26. Marko

It’s the most pointless thing to argue about and trying to rationale with a clear idiot is a waste of time. Again he has 3 assists all season long the idea of him making a difference when he was out of the team is make believe considering that he makes such little difference when he does play. It’s a question of attitude and obvious decline. Pierre has never referenced either. He doesn’t believe he’s in decline when he clearly is and not once has he ever referenced his poor attitude which is incredible he still has a fanatic after so many fake injuries and illnesses. It’s quite extraordinary he’d make a great Trump supporter for sure

  27. Marc

    Marko

I asked him earlier about the magical 7 matches we lost without him – no wonder he wouldn’t answer.

Bamford can be a pain in the arse on occasions and he got binned. Pierre actually makes the whole blog look bad.

  28. Jamie

Pierre’s a misguided youngster who only started supporting Arsenal after Wenger arrived on the scene.

He also repeatedly lied about his age, desperately and transparently trying to convince strangers on the internet he’s an old man who has been supporting Arsenal since the 60s in the vain hope that ‘seniority’ counts for something here.

Don’t be too hard on him, he’s a child.

Ozil big chances created this season in the league? 3. Oh dear.

If not both get Ryan in then play with proper wing backs.

  30. Marc

    RSPC

Unless there’s a buy out clause he’s going to cost silly money because of the “English” premium. You can get both better value and better players from overseas.

  31. Marko

New topic who replaces the bug eyed twat in the summer. Who are we thinking? Fornals? Havertz is probably too expensive and in demand. I personally think Brandt is the one we should move heaven and Earth for this summer. 20 odd million buy out and the quality and potential is just too good to pass up on. Him or we could go and replace him and Ramsey in one fell swoop and target Lo Celso

  32. Marc

    Marko

I couldn’t name a player but I think we need a creative CM rather than a “no 10” type player. A new Cesc would be perfect!

  33. Samesong

Pierre definitely not a child but maybe a man-child at heart 😝

Who is or was worse bob on Wilshere or Pierre on Ozil??

Obviously this comment is not serious ..it’s one excuse after another …we lost to Bate,West ham , and Southampton away and were soundly beaten at home by United and Tottenham where we are nearly unbeatable over the last 2 years ( except for city )…

  35. Marc

    Samesong

Nothing wrong with being a manchild – I’m 45 and still think I’m 30, most people would probably tell you I act closer to 17.

Pierre is just a fucking cock who has a man crush on a player who doesn’t deserve it. I could understand if it was on an ageing Henry or Bergkamp but Ozil has always been powder puff at best.

  36. Marc

    Pierre

It was completely serious – in the ManU match we lost 2 CB’s to injury – let’s face it defending isn’t the strongest part of our game at the best of times. The Spud’s match was the league Cup with a seriously makeshift / understrength back 5 including an unfit Monreal and Xhaka at CB.

The West Ham and Southampton matches I said were both abject performances – you didn’t answer my question about whether you think Ozil would’ve made a difference in those matches?

You need to learn the difference between excuses and analysis. I should also add that we drew away to both Southampton and West Ham last season so a net drop of 2 points compared to your god Wenger.

Why don’t you address the points I make one by one – I bet you can’t without lying.

  37. Jamie

    Marc –

He’s most definitely not old, although he does come across a little senile.. As sure as I have a hole in my ass, Pierre is in his 20s. He started giving it the “I’ve been supporting Arsenal since the 60s so I know more than you” garbage when no one would take his “assessments” of the manager and squad seriously last season.

  38. Sid

I think the debate about Ozil is pointless because he probably is going to run down his contract. The club fucked up, handing him that contract and he has no real reason to pack up and leave.

I’m sure the club will not renew but even in that scenario he still would end up making more money with the sign on bonus as a free agent.

No club is taking Ozil even if we give him away for free as I doubt any club (bar Chinese) will put him on 350k. The only way I can see a move happening is if we give him away for free AND subsidise his salary with say 150k, which on a 4 year contract is something like 32 million, so even that is far fetched.

Unfortunately people Ozil is staying for a couple of seasons, I only hope he can drop a few Leicesters along the way, funny how I have to go back a few months to mention a proper performance for a 350k player.

  39. Leedsgunner

Now, I have complained about Özil this season as well as the next man but personally I’m glad Emery has found a way to get him playing again… when he does well it’s better for the Arsenal… and we win.

But when Villas-Boas was fired by Tottenham, Sherwood was made the manager for the rest of the 2013-14 season while Spurs wooed Pochettino. He gave Kane a chance to play. “How did we know Frank Sinatra was a good singer until he sang onstage?” Sherwood asks.

No shooting required. We all would have loved Klopp here. Saleh, Mane and Firminho are all low-key but explosive players and of course they have the Ox, who left us for the right reasons at the time.

Van Dijk should have been ours from some insider accounts but Arsene preferred a fly-everywhere defender who looked like he was trying like Mustafi or Gabriel than a proper defender who might have made it look too easy.

Still, I would much rather Man City get the title over Liverpool. Right now, our title clock has been ticking shorter than Liverpool and Spurs and I would like to keep it that way.

My point exactly …I have previously criticised Ramsey but I can see what he is bringing to the team now and as an supporter I am more than happy to praise him for his recent performances.

What I have noticed is that it’s the same posters on here who refused to celebrate our FA cup victories who refuse to give Ozil any credit for his recent performances.

I don’t know why they bother supporting The Arsenal to be honest ..

    Oh Rocky Rocky!!

    Rocky Rock Rocky Rocky Rocastle!!

    RIP Rocky!

A shame that we are not playing today. Oh well. At least I am sure, on Monday night, the home crowd will sing his name nice and loudly!

At least playing on Monday gives us the advantage of seeing what everybody else has done before we play. Should help us focus on winning our game against Newcastle. 3rd spot is genuinely up for grabs if Spuds lose or draw the game vs Poo l. I expect, no less, a total bottle job from them to gift us their spot!

The Poch has given another strange interview ahead of the Liverpool match. Can’t make my mind up if the pressure of managing a team is getting to him, the financial pressure of the new stadium is getting to him or if he just plain wants out now.

What ever it is it’s piss poor form sending out negative vibes at this stage of a critical season.

Andrew Mangan and Philippe Auclair sing Koscielny’s praises on the latest Arsecast. While his good play has been acknowledged here, it hasn’t necessarily been singled out or talked about at length. How impressed are people with Koscielny’s play since returning from injury? How good do people think he has been?

  49. Un battle angel

    Bamford
I’m impressed yes. I was worried that he was finished after his semi final injury last season but he’s come back as reliable as he ever was. Such a good reader of the game. Had he been a fixture ina defense that was properly coached and higher quality team mates I’m sure he’d be held In much higher regard in European football. Very underrated.

  50. Guns of Hackney

    Zaha
    Sessegnon (sic)
    Dembele

That would sort a few problems out.

Trawl the European leagues for bastard defenders.

    Done.

  51. Guns of Hackney

    Kos is trash.

Always has been. Pleasant chap but bang average and full of mistakes for all his career. No big club has ever enquired about him and that’s a red flag for me.

    Face like a razor blade.

  52. Guns of Hackney

Neil Warnock. How the fuck had this flat cap wearing, pit dwelling, ferret chaser ever had employment?

  53. Victorious

What do people think would be the best outcome for us.. Dippers vs spuds?

I hate both teams but love Klopp.. He deserves a title but then we wouldn’t hear the end of it from the scouse plonkers

Having said that nothing will thrill me more than to see spuds given a proper stuffing today.

  54. Graham62

    GOH

Rather disrespectful towards both Kos and Warnock.

To be honest, I could listen to Warnock all day. Salt of the earth sort of guy.

  55. Guns of Hackney

    G62

I hate most humans equally. I never single anyone out in particular.

Kos is rubbish and wouldn’t get near our best defences over the years.

  56. Graham62

    GOH

Does that include your wife and children(family)?

Kos is not and never has been, “rubbish” but agree “he wouldn’t get near our best defences over the years.”

  57. Marko

Kos has done alright this season overall since coming back but he’s had some awful games which shouldn’t be forgotten plus you have to take into account that the defence is by far our weakest area and I wouldn’t go too crazy on praising any of them honestly. Bin most of them

  58. Guns of Hackney

    G62

My wife and child are exempt. I don’t work with animals…I couldn’t handle the sadness of a sick animal. People, I would happily torture if paid enough.

Ah…I feel better admitting my sociopathic tendencies on the internet.

  59. Nelson

Chelsea couldn’t generate a single shot on goal. I like Higuain’s positioning. He has missed a step. Now he couldn’t free himself from the CB and shoots.

  60. Victorious

Sarri is a confused man, absolutely the worse manager from the top6

Benching Hazard means he has given up already in securing a top 4 spot in the league and so is banking on winning the EL to save face

Hope he fails on both front

  61. Victorious

Hudson looks pissed on the bench and who can blame him, constantly linked to Bayern but can’t get a game to save his life even against canon fodders

Wish we can nab him(no chance)think he has the potential to explode under a better manager

He would be wise to follow the footsteps of Sancho, Gnabry..etc

He should get away as fast as possible from the sinking chavs before his value plummets

  62. Guns of Hackney

Genuine question from someone who watches very little football.

Is Hudson Hawk-Odoi actually any good or is he just the latest fashion statement type player whom everyone thinks will be the next world player of the year?

  63. Leedsgunner

Perhaps tomorrow Pedro, you could do a picture of Rocky as a tribute to the big man, and we could celebrate a life a life well lived. Call it a public service to the benefit of the new generations of fans who never watched him play.

What a man. What a player. Bravery had a name and it’s name was Rocky.

You know, just a break from tearing strips off each other over Özil for a change.

We are all Gooners, let’s respect one another and back the team against Newcastle tomorrow. That’s what Rocky would’ve wanted.

  64. Guns of Hackney

    G62

Ah, another raw talent…who will probably remain uncooked if he stays in England.

If I was a footballer now…Germany would be absolutely my first destination. I have no idea why more players don’t fancy the fatherland.

  65. Dissenter

    Chelsea have been very poor.
Its interesting seeing how the top 6 square up for the last 8 games

Hopefully that Dubai break/ game came just at the right time

  66. Victorious

Hudson Hawk-Odoi actually any good or is he just the latest fashion statement type player whom everyone thinks will be the next world player of the year?ayern don’t sniff around you if you’re a turd”

Dunno any world player of the year but Bayern don’t sniff around you if you’re a potential turd

Can assure you he looks better than anything we have on the wing at this moment, think he would be starting for us if we had him, Kid has shown quality in the limited time the clueless Sari has given him

was in a preparational match last season vs the chavs where he tore our RB a new one.

“Hudson Hawk-Odoi actually any good or is he just the latest fashion statement type player whom everyone thinks will be the next world player of the year?ayern don’t sniff around you if you’re a turd””

    Simple answer is YES
Bayern are ready to bet that he’s that good with £40 million for an 18 yr old.

  68. Guns of Hackney

By the way I know who Rocastle is. One of our greats. An absolute pleasure to watch and the midfield of him, Limpar, Davis and Merson was great.

  69. Guns of Hackney

Teams these days are basically buying footballers like collectors buy art, cars or wine.

Is this jerk Hudson Hawk any good? Maybe but stats say, no. Is he the new Messi…almost certainly not. Clubs are buying ‘prospects’ young and at ludicrous high prices on the off chance they come good and therefore can be sold for double/triple their investment. This kid has done NOTHING to warrant a £40m fee. Nothing. Bayern, like most clubs are rolling the dice.

So says the great banter king of legrove
Unlike you, Bayern are speaking with real money…and no one that I know is comparing him with Messi.
No one seeks to spend that much money on a. teenager without doing their homework and subjecting it to lots of real debate.

  71. Victorious

    Guns
Bayern are taking a punt just as Dortmund did on Sancho except at same stage nobody was raving as much abt Sancho

It’s always a risk buying any player, Sanchez has tanked badly at United despite all statistics and data available on the player proving otherwise

  72. Dissenter

Do these officials get punished for making such obvious mistakes?
Do they get benched and get their wages docked?

Neil Warnock will have to be restrained after this game

  73. Guns of Hackney

    Dissenter

He isn’t a fucking house, mate. I can have a surveyor look at a property and tell me if the structure is sound, but there isn’t a man or woman alive that can tell if a footballer is going to be any good.

I don’t want to debate the merits of a prospect based on 45mins of play in a friendly where Bayern decided that some punk is worth £40m. That’s their issue. My point is, it’s speculate to accumulate and total blind faith.

  74. Dissenter

Neil Warnock is already taking his Xanax on the sidelines to inoculate himself from a stroke when he goes off.

  75. Graham62

A terrible terrible terrible decision has not only cost Cardiff the game but probably their premier league status.

100% behind whatever Warnock comes out with.

What the fudge is the point of having the 4th official ?

  76. Guns of Hackney

    Vic

I agree but these figures are so arbitrary it makes the player actually worthless and the club look silly.

I mean some of the players out there with £200m buy out clauses that are 15 and played one game for the reserves. Mental.

I could try and sell my house for £5m…it isn’t worth that but I can try. The market still runs the show, not the selling club.

  77. Leedsgunner

    Cardiff hold your heads high.

It’s a testament to your fight that Chelsea needed an offside goal and a blatant red not being given for them to beat you..

VAR not needed. Just some officials that know the rules of the game. If the roles were reversed there would be a rec and a goal ruled offside quicker than you could say Sarriball.

  78. Dissenter

    Guns
I think you really should shut it at times
Footballing professionals from a club that does not typically spend big money have assessed Hudson-Odoi and decided he’s worthy of all the drawn-out hassle with Chelsea as well as £40 million.
Your loud empty opinion matters not
…and stop calling the kid a “jerk”

  79. Guns of Hackney

The same stupid Chelsea fans who were calling for Sarri will now be cheering him.

This is why stupid shouldn’t be allowed to live and should be dealt with as soon as dumb has been diagnosed.

Jerk is a term of affection.

Like I say to my one friend “how you doing you son of a bitch”?

  81. Batistuta

Again, that’s just not a bad decision, that’s a very very horrible decision by the referee, one that could hurt Cardiff in their relegation fight

  82. Graham62

The premier league should be held accountable.

Decisions like that, in this day and age, should not be allowed.

    Nothing to do with VAR.

  83. Dissenter

I mean that offside was no where near close

The premier league cannot be the best in the world with the abysmal officiating that’s going on’

You literally saw the ref shitting his pants when the red card foiled was committed.

  84. Guns of Hackney

    Cardiff should sue!!!

Millennial talk. Cardiff didn’t get the job done and paid the price. End of.

    Sue them!!!! Lolz.

“I didn’t get the job I applied for…I’ll sue the company for discrimination” boo hoo.

    Jesus wept.

  85. Guns of Hackney

Warnock looks like a plank. Idiot.

Sorry. Take responsibility and stop blaming the officials.

If his team were good enough, they would have beaten Chelsea fair and square.

  86. Graham62

If Cardiff go down, the premier league should double their parachute payment.

    Fudging diabolical.

    Don’t calm down Neil.

    Let them have it.
